Good food, good atmosphere, thoughtful staff - Edit
I've been here for a quiet cuppa-and-read, and brought my daughter a couple times too. Extensive vegan options, and everything I've had here is delicious. Comfortable cafe setting, with a little outdoor area that they've done their best to make nice (even though it's just basically in a parking lot).

Yummy Breakfast Scrambles - Edit
Nectar Cafe was my first stop after landing in PDX and it was the perfect spot for me to do some work while enjoying some tasty food.
Read moreI ordered the Division Scramble ($14), a mix of sausage, squash, and kale topped with a creamy mushroom gravy and two slices of toast. It was hearty, just a bit too salty, but extremely satisfying for a cold morning. The gravy was one of the best house made vegan gravies I've had since going plant-based.
Even when it wasn't very busy, my food did take about 20 min to get to my table so I spent a lot of time focusing on work. With ample seating and tables no larger than for four people, you really can spend hours here just working away to a wonderful cafe.
Their Wifi signal was strong and I was even able to catch some Drag Race during a mini break. Plugs are non-existent in the main dining room so make sure you are charged up before coming.
Pros: Great value for price, Large space to work from
Cons: Food was a bit too salty

Salty Scramble - Edit
I was disappointed most of the outdoor seating had been removed. We sat at a table so low that it was kind of awkward to use. I ordered the Portland Scramble, which includes scrambled tofu, sausage, zucchini, red onion, red potato, queso, and sourdough toast (or brown rice). It was a little too salty, but good otherwise. It was so filling that I skipped lunch.

I've been a few times and always been happy. I specifically liked the tofu banh mi and the buffalo soycurl wrap.

Good Breakfast - Edit
Ordered a few breakfast items. I had the Egg&cheese with tempeh bacon. I thought it was really good and the sourdough was great. My sister had the breakfast sandwich and didn’t love it. She did, however, love the Carlton smoothie. My mom had the Portland scramble and enjoyed. The chocolate chip cookie and oat berry bar were okay.

Unbelievably Wonderful - Edit
Nectar Cafe has the best coffee in Portland, vegan or otherwise. The baristas here get that coffee can be robust without being bitter. The coffee is just one reason to come. I am working my way though the menu but can so far say the pulled not-pork is heavenly. The atmosphere is also quite enjoyable, staff is friendly--no attitude or aloofness. Portions are generous--if you're not super hungry, splitting a sandwich with a companion is a good option as they are served cut in half. The only thing I'm not raving about are the baked goods, which don't get me wrong: they're lovely and satisfying. I just wouldn't say they are the best vegan desserts I've ever tasted. Altogether, though, I am so grateful to have this wonderful place to visit. I hope they open another in St Johns.

Cons: There's only one (and kinda far from where I live), Baked goods are just lovely, but I've had better

Yummy waffles - Edit
I ordered delivery twice from here. The first time I had the Hollywood scramble and half an order of berry compote waffles. I liked the waffles so much that I got the jalapeño waffle sandwich with tempeh bacon the second time. They were delicious!

Mediocre food - Edit
I got the breakfast burrito and it was not good. Soggy tofu, the potatoes had no flavor and I don’t even think you can call that sausage. The staff were very nice and it’s a cute place. The latte was delicious but I won’t be coming back to eat there. Maybe I ordered wrong but I can’t justify giving it a second chance if they don’t know how to season potatoes and tofu.

Good food nothing special - Edit
The seitan Ruben was good but not the best I’ve had. The soup was very small and the grilled cheese was confusingly named; it was just a pesto panini.

Deeeeeeeelicious! - Edit
Ordered take out during the restaurant shut down (COVID) and had the best vegan Reuben sandwich. The flavors were spot on. My husband, who is not vegan, tasted it and said he would order that next time! Looking forward to next time. So many options it's hard to decide.

Yummy vegan food in a cozy cafe - Edit
I had the Autumn salad, which was very delicious and filling. Very reasonable portion sizes and came with a yummy vegan sausage. My friend had the Portland Scramble and Matilda smoothie, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Cute, small cozy cafe vibes & great vegan food. Their baked goodies looked yummy too!
