Not bad but overpriced - Edit
The macrobiotic plate was good, but for the amount the dishes are overpriced. My partner had the curry and it lacked salt and was kinda watery. I was also disappointed that the vegan matcha tiramisu isn’t available at the moment.
Read moreA plus is that they use organic ingredients!
Fortunately we were the only customers so we didn’t have to wait too long, but since the owner is preparing everything alone, you have to expect quite a long waiting time if there are more people.

One of the few gluten-free places we could find - Edit
As my wife is coeliac, we needed to find a place that could prepare gluten-free food. The owner was very flexible and he offered to open up the restaurant just to serve us.

A quiet, luminous vegan cafe - Edit
On a quiet street a few steps away from the highly touristic Kamakura area, I had a delicious macrobiotic lunch set with excellent miso soup.

What a fun surprise! - Edit
We’ve been in Japan for 5 days now and this is the first time we made it to a dedicated vegetarian restaurant. We would have never found the place without this app so we are very grateful. We were met by the owner/chef and had the menu explained to us what was available in fantastic English. Loved the little neighborhood/nook feel of the place. Like most little one-man eateries, don’t come if you are in a hurry. Everyone was happy with their meal!

Great Ambience - Edit
You're paying a premium for organically sourced foods, however, the plate wasn't overall too overpriced and I enjoyed the simple, clean flavoring. It's also definitely Japanese sized meal which may disappoint some tourists.
Read morePlease not that the burger is NOT a soy-faux meat style burger that has become insanely popular lately. It's an 'OG' veggie burger focused on vegetables and hemp, so don't expect a 'meat-like' flavor. I quite liked it.
Since it was pretty quiet when I went the wait wasn't TOO long but definitely slightly above average. The owner is a good chat if you can speak some Japanese and he was telling us about the farms the food is sourced from all around Japan. There's also a brouchure about the farms but I didn't understand much of it since my kanji-fu is not very high.
Pros: Clean, Organic Food, Traditionalist Veggie Burger
Cons: Slightly Expensive, Potentially long wait for food

Pleasant food and great ambiance - Edit
The place is really calm and cozy with its wooden structure and the music was nice. The macrobiotic set was good and the miso soup was flavorful. The owner, who made the meal, asked if I had some questions about the meal and answered them, that was so nice of him. He speaks english so we had a pleasant discussion.

Extremely long wait and overpriced - Edit
Unfortunately, the place could not live up to the expectations. I should’ve checked google reviews sooner to find out that it has indeed a relatively lower score than other places. The price is steep (1760 yen) and the volume is low. Besides, it takes a reaaaaally long time (40 min) for the single owner to prepare everything. It’s not efficient and the food is not special. Not worth the price at least. I wonder what took him so long, many parts of the dish could’ve been prepared beforehand. Sadly the other vegan place was closed on Sunday but maybe check happy cow for other options in Kamakura because this ain’t it.

Not the best - Edit
Couldn’t order what we wanted due to them being sold out of veggie burger Patties, ended up ordering the curry. Waited over an hour for the food. Staff person was only one person working on cooking and serving so it took forever…the salad was super salty.

Amazing place! - Edit
I went here for breakfast and lunch during my stay in kamakura and thoroughly enjoyed both types. The ambiance is inviting and the food is natural and tasty. The manager is really friendly as well and helped me with my Japanese! (And even went to the nearby conbeni to get soya milk to go with my coffee 😍)

Nice Food, Kind Staff - Edit
The lady was very kind to prep the meal though it's past the timing of the shop, when she learnt that I am vegan Had the macrobiotic set and it was good. If you don't take garlic and onion, this may be the only set available and let the staff know so that they exclude the miso soup.

Excellent food and Atmosphere - Edit
Everything is either vegan or vegetarian. I've been here a couple of time and so I've tried the 3 main dishes. Everything was so flavorful. I'm not a fan of onions but they made them taste good somehow. The restaurant design, music, and atmosphere is very relaxing. And the staff is friendly too. Great for foreigners and Japanese.

English below👇 長谷駅の近くにある『natudeco』に行ってきました。

今回注文したのは、『ベジバーガー』です。

Natudeco is a charming little vegetarian cafe, tucked away on a side street in Kamakura (closest station: Hase). The space is bright and airy, with high ceilings and skylights.
We sat at the counter and ordered the veggie burger, which I was very pleased with. The bun was freshly toasted and fluffy, the patty and the toppings were fresh, and the piping hot potato wedges were nice too.
Natudeco is a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas of Kamakura. I think you’ll enjoy your time here.
