Good but frustrating

The food was good, but we were frustrated because we wanted to order the two person set meal for the two adults and our son wanted only a dessert, but we were told we could only have the three person set meal. We ended up choosing single meals, one of which was an Indian curry (despite wanting Japanese cuisine)

Pros: Good food, Warm and cozy

Cons: Frustrating, Limited options

Nice vibe and good food, but...

... a bit too greasy a smell upon entering this very loved vegan restaurant for the first time. Maybe I was unlucky that day, but the smell of fried stuff can be unpleasant if too strong, which was the case for me.

That being said, the food was very nice, and quite cheap. My omnivore friend loved it, which is definitely a big plus!

I'll visit again to give it a second chance!

Pros: Nice vibe, Good food, Inexpensive

Cons: Greasy smell

Cheap and good

We went there for dinner, the place is small but there were two seats available. I would not recommend the deep fried soy meat, which was a bit too fat and oily, but the tofu with coconut milk and tomato and the vegetables were good. The chocolate cake was delicious.

Pros: Cheap, All vegan

Favourite in Japan!

This place was delicious! Their deep fried soy meat plate was the best I'e ever had. Tried several vegan restaurants in Japan and this place was by far my favourite. Wish I had the chance to try more on their menu. Falafel with tofu mayneise was also so good! October 2018

The best food in Tokyo

I am honestly planning on heading back to Tokyo just to eat here. My fiancé and I ate here three times in the 9 days we spent in Tokyo and both agree is was some of the best food we ate. It’s a really fair price for all the food and drink and the owns/staff were really nice and appreciated us trying to speak Japanese and could speak English to us when we go stuck. We travelled around japan for a month and it may seem strange but this place is one of the places I miss most. It felt like home. I personally recommend the fried soy meat set meal😄Thank you Nagi Shokudo! ❤️

Pros: Everything is vegan, Everything is delicious and cheap, Really comfy and welcoming restaurant

Surprise treat

Tiny restaurant hidden down stairs off street. I was a bit sceptical as it's a bit dingy and run down looking with one woman working in a tiny kitchen and a sweaty, flustered looking guy serving tables but the food was great and service excellent! Worth a visit.

Pros: Great food, Friendly service, Beer

Well hidden gem

I first walked past and had to double check if I was right, as it is down the stars, hidden behind some bushes. The food was superb though and staff were very friendly and really helpful.

A Genuine and Amazing Japanese Meal

I've been in Tokyo for a week so far, and I think this has been the best meal I've had yet. It's a tiny little place hidden in the corner of a slow intersection. It's down a couple of stairs next to another restaurant. Half of it is matted with the low tables and cushions for you to sit on. You have to take off your shoes before you go to your table. So already you're getting the full experience. But the food was really to die for. There were four options, each with a main dish and a few side dishes. We got the fried tofu and it was INCREDIBLE. So amazing. And the side dishes were equally great. It came with rice, a salad, some pickled vegetables, and soup. I could have been rolled out of the restaurant I was so full. I did not expect to be able to get a fully vegan, yet authentic Japanese dining experience, and it was perfect.

Pros: Great variety, Authentic Japanese dining

quaint and delicious

Japan is both hard to find food in and easy to find food in. You can get so many rice dishes at every 7/11 but difficult to find vegan friendly food at restaurants so finding this place day four of our trip was a blessing. Recommend their home made ginger beer

great place!

The food is very tasty. You can choose from a wide variety of veggies and other produce. Sadly it's expensive (1200 yen) but that shouldn't be surprising considering fresh produce prices in Japan. The dishes are worth the money though :)

Pros: wide variety of options, delicious food, nice atmosphere & service

Cons: expensive

Maybe the best vegan place in Tokyo

I wish we would have had our hotel closer to this cute little restaurant. The service was great and the food was exactly what I was looking for. Traditional vegan japanese food and the prices are quite cheap. All really delicious.

Pros: all vegan, traditional japanese food, small cute restaurant

Cons: not many desserts to choose from

Delicious curry

It was a little hard to find but worth it! Cosy atmosphere & nice staff. The South Asian style curry was absolutely delicious and everything tasted fresh. I also bought a cupcake & cookies to take home.

Pros: Cosy, Entirely vegan, Friendly atmosphere

Cons: A little hard to find

Not recommended

Options here were very limited, and some of them were pretty expensive. We both got the fried soy meat set (one of the cheaper options), which came with some salad and three tiny deli sides, which you don't get to choose yourself. The sides consisted of different types of marinated/pickled veggies, and they were mediocre. Although the sides were incredibly small, the main dish was really generous -- in fact, it was far too generous. They gave us each a pile of fried soy meat, which was tasty, but really became a struggle to eat after a while. I don't normally have a sensitive stomach, but it was so much fried stuff/oil, that I couldn't eat it all and felt a little sick afterwards.
The odd thing about this restaurant is that it really doesn't seem to warrant the pricing. The interior is kinda shabby, and food wasn't anything special. I don't really get it.
Also, as others mentioned, it was hard to find. It was right on the corner, but the coordinates from Happy Cow were slightly off, so we spent a while looking. It's next to Pinofalice Trattoria.

Cons: Doesn't warrant price., Meh food., Shabby.

すばらし!!

Amazing vegan restaurant!! Some people have mentioned cleanliness, it is a bit old but that just adds to the character of the place!! I love it :) it isn't super kitschy like the rest of the places in Japan and that's what is cool about it! The food is incredible and staff is so nice! Def worth a visit

Nasty

The food tasted okay but it was nothing special. But that is not the reason for the low rating. The restaurant is just nasty. Sticky floor, dust everywhere and the plates were fatty/stained. Never going there again.

Cons: Nasty, Expensive

Food was alright but the place is far from clean

A bit hard to find, the food is alright. Nothing special and a bit blend. The portions are good, but it’s on the expensive side. My problem is with the cleanliness of the place. I can’t believe nobody mentionted this. We sat next to the kitchen and could look behind the counter. I wish I didn’t see, because my food tasted less nice because of it. There’s dirt everywhere, the floor is sticky. The windows are dirty, there are a lot of spiderwebs on the ceiling and walls (even beyond the vegan point). The staff was nice, so I’m sorry to write this review, but I wouldn’t eat there again.

Pros: Good portions

Cons: Dirty, Expensive

delicious set meal

This is the second time we visited. The first time was about two years ago. Both times we ordered the set meal for dinner, and they were fresh and delicious! You get small portions of several items, so you end up trying many traditional dishes, though the main always seems to be some fried soy meat (very tasty!). They also sell dessert and baked goods. The tiny espresso cookies are amazing!

It's a little hard to find - you have to walk down some steps, and the restaurant name is hidden behind some bushes. But it's right on the corner that Google Maps shows it to be.

Pros: tasty, traditional Japanese food, good price
