Not that great - Edit
I did not like it as much as previous reviewers. I found it to be bland with just a store bought bbq like sauce. But still great to have this option! I would go there again if I were in the neighbourhood.

Street food from Hiroshima - Edit
Appreciated the opportunity to try Okonomiyaki as a Vegan. Restaurant does get very busy during prime time to it’s good to arrive early. They even cleaned the grill surface to cook vegetarian meals.

Traditional japanese experience - Edit
I really appreciated that they have clearly marked menu in English. The staff has a good understanding of veganism, so they even changed the sauce on the table in advance. As I've never eaten okonomiyaki before (neither "normal" or vegan version), can't really speak of tastiness when compared to other restaurants but personally I enjoyed their version a lot. Be prepared to probably wait a bit to be seated as there might be a queue in front of the restaurant. Even though the staff is really busy, they still take a good care of you so it's definitely worth the wait.

so, so good - Edit
Onomiyaki was delicious! Menu had a clearly marked vegetarian page, with a clearly marked vegan subsection. Staff understood vegan as a concept and proactively replaced the standard sauce jar on the table with the vegetable sauce to put on top of the food. Great experience!

A real good feed - Edit
Delicious food, atmosphere not as great as the okonomiyaki place we went to the night before, but the menu was so easy to follow and they had so many veggie options.

Cool experience - Edit
The okonomiyaki was amazing but we definitely should have shared one between the two of us instead of getting one each, but we really weren’t sure as to what we were in for. The brown sauce stuff was to die for!!! Would definitely recommend dousing your meal in it! It was an interesting eating technique, one in which I had never seen before, but would definitely give it another try!

Best experience! - Edit
Oh wow this place is amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of having the hot plate in front of me and being able to watch the chef make my dish. Super fresh and tasty local dish with cabbage, noodles and veg. All vegan! Very welcoming staff who spoke excellent English. I will go here again!

Cool Experience but Had Better - Edit
It was a cool experience to sit down and enjoy vegan okonomiyaki, especially a Hiroshima style one. I didn't find it to be a great dish though. I love noodles but the sauce is pretty much what give the dish the flavour. Unfortunately, the sauce wasn't that tasty. Was actually quite bland. I recommend trying the Hiroshima style okonomiyaki at Yakeppachi. It was a lot tastier and the locals absolutely love it there. Nevertheless, a good dining experience. Lots of foreigners rather than locals.

Pros: Friendly staff, Friendly atmosphere, Cool dining experience

Very Tasty - Edit
Great little restaurant to try a veganised version of an authentic Japanese dish! Our waitress was lovely, understood what vegan meant immediately and communicated with us really well. There was a little wait before we were seated (maybe 15-20 minutes) as the restaurant was full when we arrived, but we were shown menus and able to order from the line.

Cool experience - Edit
It was a great atmosphere and clearly a popular place, had to line up outside a little at dinner time! I was sat at the bench watching them cook all the pancakes on the massive hot plate which was cool, mine was kept away from all the egg meat and cheese which was nice! I was given a vegetable sauce to eat with too. The pancake was a bit bland though and was nice with the sauce but not too much. It was ok, was good for the experience but wasn’t as tasty as I had anticipated. 9 options on the menu for vegetarian and 3 for vegan :)

Vegan/vegetarian okonomiyaki - Edit
Great place to try okonomiyski, which usually contains pork and chicken. They cater well to vegetarians, offering several variations: no meat, no meat broth, no egg, and vegan which looks like plain noodles. If you can eat eggs, it’s worth the wait. They’ll even give you a special bottle of vegetarian brown sauce to put on top.

Essentially one vegan option - Edit
Not the greatest for vegans...only one option which was quite dry. We had to drown ours in the sauces on the table to make it good. But the atmosphere is fun and lively.

Popular and pretty tasty - Edit
The queue was quite long during dinner time, but I managed to get in before the huge throngs of tourists appeared. There is decent variety of Okonomiyaki available and they have a good selection of vegetarian options! The Hiroshima style okonomiyaki consists is made up of soba and cabbage, which is quite different from the Osaka style ones. While it was tasty, I felt it was a quite expensive for the vegan option. For some reason, the meat and seafood variations are cheaper even though the ingredients are almost the same with the exception of meat. It was tasty, but I personally feel it was not very worth the price tag. However I also understand that making it vegan means omitting many of the ingredients which makes the dish 'special'. Anyway it's worth a try if you're in Hiroshima!

Interesting local specialty - Edit
We had to wait a while to be seated here for lunch. Despite the line, the place is very well organized and gives you the menu to look at and takes your order in advance of your seating. Vegan options clearly marked on the menu. You can sit either at a table with an individual hot grill or at the bar where all the food is prepared on a giant hot grill. All food is cooked on the same grill, but staff carefully cleans the grill between each item (request a table if you don't want to watch meat preparation in front of you). I'm glad I had the opportunity to try a local specialty food item, since so much of Japan's specialty foods are off-limits to a vegan! It was very filling and tasty but nothing super remarkable that I'd go out of my way to get again.
