Beautiful location - Edit
The service is friendly and the views of surrounding islands are stunning. It’s great to be able to go into the ocean for a dip between cocktails as well (though watch out for all the coral/shells!). We were both looking for a bit more flavour with our summer cauliflower and jackfruit taco dishes, and vegan options were limited. Cocktails were incredible though, and all ingredients were very fresh.

No longer labels vegan food/limited options - Edit
Contrary to HappyCow description, Mowie’s no longer has vegan/vegetarian labelling on their menu. Staff didn’t understand no dairy/egg very well and said they had no options. Ordered the eggplant appetiser minus yoghurt and it came out with yoghurt, which wasn’t rectified or apologised for (ended up scraping it off). Potatoes Bravas were super tasty, just order without Mayo. I didn’t check other ingredients. Cocktails were nice too and the location is lovely. Good for just drinks😄

Great spot to watch the sunset from. Menu not very well labeled for allergens but everything we tried was quiet tasty, but adaption was needed. Staff were very nice

Avg to bad vegan food - Edit
This location is great, however, you can find 1 million next to them that are great with just as average vegan food.
Read moreWe had every vegan option on the menu, including the fries, which weren’t mentioned is being vegan or an option, but they were offered.
The spring rules are no longer offered not at lunchtime anyway.
We had the cauliflower main as well as the jackfruit tacos, both were an abomination against taste.
Tacos were seasoned incorrectly, and in edible, the cauliflower mashed main was bland, and absolutely tasteless.
They do an incredibly overpriced (150 K) green chili, vodka cocktail that is quite nice.
Paying 8 USD for a cocktail puts you right up there near LA or NYC prices.
The staff was friendly however, I haven’t met staff that isn’t friendly on Gili air.
If you go here, make sure your wallet is stacked with cash, and order only cocktails and fries. We should be happy with that, also go during high tide and at Sunset.

New menu - Edit
Menu has changed since it was first put on the cow, nothing is labelled. We made do with some starters without asking too many questions, could probably get a salad without the feta. You may be disappointed if you're a strict vegan. The food and cocktails are delicious though, great place to watch the sunset.

Unfortunately the menu for the evening changed, the daily menu has more options.
Also the staff kind of neglected our table, so we had to wait a really long time.

Several vegan options at a popular place - Edit
One of the popular beach restaurants in the area that are open late. Per the information we were given, they have two fully vegan mains: the quinoa salad and the cauliflower dish. They also have a beyond meat burger which can be veganized by removing the brioche bun and the cheese(we also didn't eat the sauce that came with it as they did not confirm it was vegan). I had the cauliflower which was pretty nice and a big portion. They also had Falafels which could probably be veganized too. Just remember the language barrier.

A few veggie options but generally wholesome - Edit
I had a bagel here for breakfast and I tried the pizza which I ask for without cheese - this was no problem. The pizza was nice a thin, crispy and wholemeal - tasty but lacked a bit of salt. They have decent veg options in terms of starters, salads and pizza but not for the mains.

Friendly stuff but food could be better - Edit
We've been here once for dinner and the stuff was very friendly. The portions are very small and high priced. We also had two smoothies which weren't yummy at all. Mine had small date pieces on the bottom which is a no go in my opinion. After our dinner we had to buy a snack to survive the night.

No clue about veganism - Edit
Although they do have a few dishes on their menu that say VG for vegan and V for vegetarian, the staff had no idea what vegan means. They didn't know the difference between vegan and vegetarian, which, as it turned out, the chef didn't know either. I ordered the Vegan tomato soup (the only soup that stated VG) and got it served with a big dollop of dairy cream on top of it :-(

Good - Edit
I wanted to go for the quinoa salad since this was the only vegan main on the menu. They ran out of quinoa. They could offer to make the chickpea salad vegan, without feta. The salad was good. A bit pricy for just chickpeas, tomatoes and cucumber and herbs but the taste was good. They also have raw desserts but sadly put honey in all of them.

good Food - Edit
The food at mowie’s was very good and a change from the traditional food we usually ate. It was a bit more upscale and therefore more expensive but definitely worth your rupies (ca. 1012€ for two dishes and drinks, so still cheap)
