Delicious vegan food - Edit
We visited Moondog twice during our week long stay- lunch and came back for the lemon quinoa blueberry pancakes at breakfast. For lunch I enjoyed the veggie burger. My kids are dairy free and even though there isn’t a kids menu, they made a “plain cheese” pizza with the vegan cheese. Oldest had the margarihta style one on the menu. They both loved it and had enough for leftovers. I was disappointed the vegan carrot cake wasn’t available when we went but the family enjoyed treats from the bakery case. You do need to confirm what is vegan/dairy free and available for the treats. It is a fun place / atmosphere and my omnivore husband also likes it.

Lots of options - Edit
Great vegan options, with variety as well! I didn't care for the wasabi-soy-ginger sauce the gyoza came with, and I was bummed they didn't have regular soy sauce to go with it. The vegan burger patty was good, the blackened tofu (for tacos) had so much flavor, and the lemonade was sweet, delicious and refreshing. They do have a few vegan dessert options as well, but they do NOT have vegan key lime desserts anymore. It was a whole fiasco, but one person working at the bakery glass case brought out a key lime pie and said it was vegan, then my waiter said it's not but they have a vegan key lime tart, then I bought that and was walking out with it when I noticed that in the bakery case, it only said it was gluten-free, no mention of it being vegan. I asked again if it was vegan, this time to the owner or manager, and he went back and checked again, and came out and said it's not and they haven't had that for years. I got a refund, but he wasn't very apologetic, besides suggesting that I don't need to leave our waiter a tip because of the mistake, which was unacceptable to me, so we left the same tip as before, gave the dessert to a non-vegan friend, and got our refund.

Deserves 5 stars. - Edit
I was only able to rate it a 4 star since it is not a fully vegan restaurant.

Loved: veggie burger, fries, mushroom pizza - sub vegan cheese, double choc cookie, blueberry muffin. The margarita pizza w/vegan pizza was good but not mushroom pizza was much more flavorful.
Staff is really friendly, Danielle was great! Both servers vegan knowledgeable.

Pastry chef does INSANE vegan pastries, from tarts to danish to pies and cakes! - Edit
I actually don’t eat these creations but my SIL does and she LOVES them! And I can confirm that they look gorgeous.
Read moreAnd the baked tofu here is RIDICULOUS, it’s as good as mine and I’ve worked hard to perfect mine for catering and private chef work!
The lemon quinoa blueberry pancakes are super yummy, I get them bare (no sugar and no maple syrup).
The roasted veggies are yummy but way too much oil so I ask for extra napkins to soak it up.
Really nice options overall for the kind food lovers, and even some yummy Athletic IPA beer if you don’t partake in the alcohol!

Good! - Edit
Island diner atmosphere with a nice small deck for eating outside. I shared the Blueberry-Lemon Quinoa Pancakes with my family, and got the Shakshuka for myself. The pancakes were fantastic! I loved the texture of the quinoa, and the lemon / blueberry combination. The Shakshuka was good, but about what you’d expect. They didn’t really stand out to me. Staff was good. Our waiter was attentive and didn’t make any mistakes.

Outstanding options, amazing staff - Edit
Absolutely wonderful place on Whitehead Street with lots of great outdoor seating… Comfortable indoor, seating… And patio seating in the back. They have a full bakery with lots of vegan options and dessert options… They have a vindaloo that can be made vegan with tofu, that’s incredible… Their stirfry is great… Their burgers are great… Their brussels sprouts and gyosa dumplings appetizers are incredible. So many good options.

The most amazing vegan chocolate cake! Also had the vegan blueberry muffin which was yummy. For brunch, their shakshuka can be done with tofu scramble instead of egg.

We were very happy with our mains, the pizza margharita and the avocado salad, but even better were the goyzo and the brussels sprouts that we had as starters. We definitely have to come back to try one of the vegan desserts!

Good spot! - Edit
It was nice to have an actual veggie burger! Seems like most places these days just do a beyond/impossible burger, but the patty made of actual vegetables was a refreshing throwback.
Read moreThe staff was a bit inattentive however. Our fries came with cheese on them, and our coffee order was off the next day. So be careful!
Edit: This place was definitely a lifesaver during our week on Key West! I also recommend the veggie charcuterie and the truffle pizza with the vegan cheese swap.

Went here a few times on my visit to Key West. LOVED the vegan pancakes. Ordered with a side of fresh fruit & breakfast potatoes. It was enough to share! Big portions. Loved the full cafe menu as well as the vegan treats in the bakery. It’s been so long since I had a danish & they had vegan fruit pastries. Could have eaten every meal there honestly.

Meh - Edit
I ordered the Watermelon, Cucumber & Lime juice. It was really funky and tasted like maybe the watermelon went bad. I had the same drink from another place the day before and it was delicious. The Blueberry Quinoa pancakes were super bland and I’m not sure that they were even cooked through. The service was not very great either.

Great tacos and baked goods - Edit
Fantastic blackened tofu tacos - vegan cheese available. The mushroom pizza looked good too. Their selection of vegan baked goods was impressive, too. Vegan breakfast is hard to come by in the upper and middle keys so we bought a bunch of their baked goods for breakfast the next day.
