So good!

The menu might be small, but leaves nothing to be desired. Their cheeseburger and chicken sandwich both taste really good, and so does the milkshake.

Top Veg-Grub

Needed something to top off the day and decided to hit up Monty's. Just a little hole in the wall slinging out fast food classics, and vegan! I ordered the single hamburger since they do not offer the grilled chicken anymore. (Impossible made grilled chicken before?) MY order name was confused with someone else's but the employees were gracious enough to let us keep our food and get even more! (The food we ordered) It was so good that the mix up was the least of an issue. The hamburger was 10x better than any fast food burger I've ever had. The fried could maybe use work but the tenders and tots were also fantastic. All the sauces hit the mark as well. If you ever need to satisfy a fast food tooth without worrying about cross-contamination, hit up Monty's!

Great place for a pre or post Wiltern concert meal

Loved their burger 🍔 I haven't eaten an in-n-out burger in over a decade but it really did remind me of that. Also the food comes out quick and hot so it's great to fuel up for a night at the Wiltern or for post concert munchies.

Vegan Eats at No Values Festival 2024

Loved that plant-based was featured HUGE at No Values this past weekend. VIP section line wasn’t too bad during lunch time. They ran out of some options, but it was yummy. Very satisfying - I couldn’t finish the tots* and fries.

It’s spendy, more so during a festival. Would totally enjoy their food again!

Pros: Fully Vegan/Plant-Based at Concert, Huge Setup at No Values, Delicious Vegan Burger w/Gooey Cheese

Cons: Lines Can Get Long, Spendy for Junk Food

Amazing milkshake!

Lovely cute diner style, great service. Had a chicken sand which tasted great with a nice thick patty. Oreo milkshake was more like an cream sundae, needed the spoon! Was the best milkshake I’ve had in a very long time!
My only negative was the burger was very greasy/oily, may just be my personal choice.
Would return to try other menu items

Pros: Milkshake, Service

LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE

Best vegan burger in my opinion. They changed from house made to impossible but it’s still really good. Definitely get a shake, they have minis if you wanna try it first. If you haven’t gone yet, you should ! In my opinion the chicken strips aren’t great but not bad

Underwhelming, over-hyped & overpriced

Underwhelming. From the UK and have been looking forward to trying Montys for years, I was so disappointed :(

We had a different chain the night before which was absolutely incredible. (Kevin harts, Harts House) which was amazing on both taste and value for money was incredible with buy one get one free on a variety of favourites.

Monty's needs cheaper prices & bigger portions. Buffalo aoli didn't taste like buffalo at all. Tasted like a cajan spice mix, mixed with vegan mayo. I would've expected vegan mayo mixed with buffalo sauce?!

Double cheeseburger was fresh and appealing. Cheese was melted and pickles and salad tasted fresh, but burger itself lacked in flavour. It just didn't hit.

Tots and fries were good, fries in particular I enjoyed (perfect amount of salt for my liking) but again, very overpriced for the portion size, especially compared to competitors offering cheaper prices, bigger portions and offers for the same taste. It's fries and tots, how different can you get.

Chicken fingers were just ok. Size of the actual fingers were good, nice thickness and texture of the faux meat. Breading was ok. But 3 chicken fingers for what we paid for 16 nuggets from Harts house the day before is ridiculous.

Just a no brainer. Get Harts house instead.

Overall, just... underwhelming, if you're on the fence, don't bother. So disappointed and just lost almost $50 for enough food for 1 hungry person (shared between 2 people) I wanted to feel differenly about this food😒

Pros: Milkshake was good. Sauce and flavour good, Ranch tasted good, was quite thick though, Fries were good - liked the amount of salt on them

Cons: Overpriced!! Over-hyped!!😒, Small portions (again overpriced for the portion), Tasted underwhelming. Such big hype around montys.

Loved it

The food was fast and tasted amazing. I wanted to try a shake and ordered a small one and it was a dream come true. I haven’t had a shake in like 10 years because of lack of vegan options but this was just like I remembered shakes. Tried the habanero sauce and i loved it too. Definitely will come back

Pros: taste, really fast

Should be 3 1/2 stars

Cute little place stays open until 11pm. Very reminiscent of an old burger joint. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Only did the burger and tots (two days in a row. Second day because it got very late and needed something quick). Couldn't give it a higher rating on the limited items tried. The half step down on the stars is because they use Impossible.

Pros: They are open until 11pm, Tots are nice and crispy.

Iconic spot! On their Halloween placemat, there’s a maze with some monsters on it and a small phrase at the bottom. If you follow the directions, you will receive a special surprise from the employees😄

I had the fries and the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and it was delicious! I liked the honey mustard dressing more than the Caesar though 😅

Just eh

Unfortunately, Monty’s good Burger is nothing special. When they initially opened up a couple years ago I was a big fan of their burgers and especially their milkshakes. They had what was the best vegan milkshake I had ever tried. As the years passed, I noticed their Milkshake was a lot more watery and just nowhere near as good as it used to be. someone working there had told me they modified the milkshake to make it better which, in my opinion made it not taste good. I also had noticed the burgers used to be larger. I just don’t think there’s anything special when it comes to impossible or beyond meat. I understand they are one of the OG vegan places and we all love their pup Monty but this is just not the place for me.

Pros: Monty the pup

Cons: Unhealthy, Greasy , Overpriced

Best burger I’ve had in a long time

Stopped in while at The Wiltern. So good I went three times in one day. Killer “chicken” burger and tenders and shakes to absolute die for. Friendly service and you can watch the food being cooked right in front of you. Absolutely worth popping in if you’re in the area.

Pros: Absolute amazing food, Watch it cooked in front of you, Shakes to die for!

Cons: Limited menu (but it’s all incredible!)

Best Burger in LA

I’ve been eating at Monty’s even before I went plant-based because the burgers are just that good. The fries, sauces, and milkshakes all hit the spot and the interior of this location is adorable.

With burgers like these, who need In-N-Out!?

Pros: Good service, Amazing food

Cons: Parking can be hard to find

It’s pretty good…

I really enjoyed my burger and I would definitely recommend trying once. However, I felt like there was a slight cucumber taste with the pickles? Was that on purpose? I feel like the taste was refreshing and original. It’s house pickles. However, it wasn’t my absolute favorite taste with a burger. Also, it’s an impossible patty. No hate to impossible patty’s, but I feel like there’s definitely a difference between the taste of impossible and beyond burgers. I feel like for that price you could get beyond? Just my opinion.

I feel like there are tastier options for burgers in LA. I also tried the chicken sandwich. That was pretty good as well but it wasn’t out of this world. Would probably rate it 3.8/5.

Pros: Vegan , Interesting flavors

Cons: Expensive , Impossible patty

Great Food, Terrible Experience

Super torn about Monty's Good Burger here in K-Town. I was super excited to check this spot out since going plant based, as everyone kept saying they are like the vegan In-N-Out. It was always so busy so I figured, why not - let's give it a try?

This happened about a year ago. The problem then with Monty's was their inadequate ordering system and service that caused my friends and I to wait nearly an hour and a half for our food. We got there at 19:00 on a Friday evening and little by little made our way to the front of the line. About 19:30 or so, one of us finally got to order but were then were barred from ordering in order for the kitchen staff to fill existing orders. Time would pass until we finally got to order but before all of us could get in on one go, the line stopped again.

Come to find that they were busy preparing all the online orders before those that were waiting in person. This was definitely not the way we wanted to spend our Friday evening in K-Town. One of us ended up going in to share our remorse over this system, to which others joined in. Eventually, the line became a spot for you to put in an online order and then you'd get your food within 10-15 minutes.

By no means do I think this was the kitchen/service staff's fault and I know they had a lot to deal with on a busy evening. The server I worked with was very apologetic so I really can't be too upset as I know they were trying. However, the management team should have stepped in to at least turn off online orders because it was ridiculous that those standing in line were neglected. Nobody was happy in this situation, believe me.

Hopefully the situation has improved, but be careful because this location gets too busy for its own good.

Pros: All vegan menu

Cons: Terrible online ordering system taking precedence

Ideal burger

If I could go anywhere in LA for a burger, I’d have to say Monty’s would be my choice. They have tots, shakes, a nice sauce selection, but it is a pretty no-frills place with a limited menu. This is not a complaint though. I think they’ve just really honed their craft and keep the menu minimalist without offering too many items that stray from the burger-forward image. They rotate their featured shakes which are all amazing. I don’t know, they just make a really perfect burger. I would eat a lot more Monty’s if they didn’t ban delivery services here, but I get it.

Update: You can now order though postmates (and I do)

Pros: It’s just the best burger. , Trust me. , I’m a professional.

Cons: No postmates allowed.

Yummy Vegan Junk Food

Staff was friendly. Food was really good and yummy. The mini shake is perfectly sized. I loved that they offered the 50/50 tater tots and fries. One of the best “chicken” sandwiches I’ve had.

Pros: Whole menu is vegan, They promo animal adoption

Cons: Music was unbearably loud, Limited parking

MUST-GO

Absolutely drool-worthy food- I go every time I come to the LA area and I'm so glad they've expanded locations- but there's just *something* special about the OG. We tried the new chicken sandwich and added the sriracha aioli and *chef's kiss*, my friends. I always get the double burger with a couple of their other tasty aioli options on the side with my fries.

Pros: All vegan burgers & shakes (chicken now, too!), The BEST staff

Cons: Limited seating- tho part of the vibe I love😎
