Happy place for vegans!

Our go-to place for organic produce, vegan products, hard-to-find brands, and nutritional supplements. Just the best! The Naked Lunch counter always has fresh, vegan food made to order, with generous portions. Love this place!

An amazing resource in a convenient location for the community

MOM’s has all the resources you might want or need as a vegetarian or vegan. I really appreciate the ability to make my own nut butter in store etc... Their pre- made vegan meals are delicious. They have great pet food, treats and resources as well. They also sell some meats and other responsibly sourced products if you have non-veg tendencies or friends.

Lastly, prior to COVID they had an awesome retro pinball machine room where you could kill a lot of time at a fair price playing pinball. Tons of fun.

Pros: Delicious food, Natural deodorant, toothpaste

Cons: A little pricey

Great Grocery Store

I grew up going to this store and it’s expanded so much since I was a child. The products got better and the selection improved. It now has a lot of plastic free options.

Pros: Vegan products , Plastic free options , Variety of options

Cons: Not all plastic free , Expensive at times

100% Organic Produce

Awesome organics. No searching through produce to determine foods that may be conventional rather than organic. Bonuses include an in-store bakery, a Coffee Shop complete with a Barista and their jewel in the crown -- The Naked Lunch eatery. Naked Lunch serves only organic vegetarian and vegan options. Their bowls and juices are creative and delicious. You have the option of creating your own. FABULOUS! 'Nuff said.

Pros: Energy efficient facility. Sustainability, conciousness. Very competitive prices.

Cons: Wish there were a few more oil/fat free dressings.

love mom’s

Only thing they don’t sell is Gardein meatballs but that’s ok. I will live. Love their vegan tuna sandwiches. I will go there just to get those for my lunch.

An oasis in a food desert!

College Park is a notorious food desert. With no grocery stores within a mile of the university, it's difficult to stay healthy in the area. As a student of the university (twice) I struggled with getting and staying healthy. Thankfully, the second time I attended, I had a car and was able to travel to shop for food. Most of that shopping I did either at the farmer's markets in Takoma Park, Greenbelt, or on campus, or here at MOM's.

It's true that MOM's is more expensive than a traditional grocery store. They have organic hard to find items and attempt to locally source as much as they possibly can. This makes it a conscious and mindful choice to shop here. I choose mindfulness and spending a few extra dollars to know I'm making better choices.

My biggest issue with this place is that I have my own bags for produce and bulk items made of hemp and cotton, and the system for taking off the weight of the bag (they are labeled by the manufacturer) is always a challenge at the register. Overall, not such I giant problem to have! Patience is a virtue after all.

The selection here is immense for the tiny space and I love the frozen food section that always has great vegan options available. The staff are always friendly and smiling, and will insist on helping you to your car (corporate policy.)

Overall, the store is popular and crowded because it's a wonderful and convenient space in a town full of inconvenience. I do wish it was within walking distance of the university, but we can't have everything we want!

Pros: location, parking

Cons: pricy , small, far from campus

Smallest MOM's around, but same benefits

College Park area of MD: not the best area for health foodies. Enter MOM's - phew, breath of fresh, healthful air!

When you walk in, find all your produce cramped into a small area. Not a multitude of selection, but the basic ingredients you need, from beets to black radishes to bananas to apples to celery to garlic, you get the drill. All the basic produce is there. The prices are typical for organic produce in this area.

Keep walking, you will find many other choices for food, including your frozen items, cereals, canned goods, snacks, jams, baking ingredients, paper products, nondairy milks, refrigerated pre made foods, ice cream, raw foods, bulk bins, bulk herbs and the personal care/ medicinal stuff in the back.

Because it's so small, it's easy to just go down one row, then the next, then the last and be done. It's actually a convenient layout, but it's narrow. When it's really busy, it can be tough to navigate!

Like all MOM's, you can recycle some items here and sample some bread and random snacks in the aisles. Good stuff!

Pros: Sale items, Produce is fresh and organic, Vegan and raw stuff plentiful

Cons: Location, Small space

Love this health food store!

This store was my first introduction to a health food store, and with the employees support I've gone completely vegan. There are few things that you can't purchase from this store, and the customer service has always been outstanding. Everyone is very helpful answering questions. There are ready made sandwiches to go as well, if you are in a hurry. I highly recommend this store and all of the other stores of this small chain.

Pros: Good customer service, large and varied selection, Vegan friendly

Cons: Small, Carries small amount of meats

best grocery store in the area

yes, this place is expensive...but it is not a conventional grocery store. They are all organic and try to get locally sourced, so the produce is usually very fresh and of good quality. very vegan friendly! They say that the brand name products they sell are priced lower than the same thing at whole foods but I've never bothered to verify that. Its a local company and they buy wind power. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Pros: local company, organic

Cons: small
