Great menu and tasty food - Edit
This definitely the best place to eat when you're in Hoi An. We ordered one of their menus and it was delicious. The portion was big and it included a good variety of different dishes. The dessert-soup they offer is very sweet but definitely worth a try.

Vegan versions of local specialities ! - Edit
Great spot not far from the centre where you have the chance to try vegan versions of Hoi An specialities such as White Rose & fried wontons! We also had the turmeric & mushroom stuffed tofu with banana leaves which was amazing & very different to any other dish we've had in Vietnam! Would also recommend the white rose & fried wontons

European food, Vietnamese service. Disappointnemt. - Edit
I had fried rice with papaya and tofu skin (39k dongs) and fried rice with mango and coconut (39k dongs), as well an avocado shake (35k dongs). The dishes consisted mainly of rice (whole plates of rice!), the "dressing" was really scarce. The plate looked European, much unlike everything else I've had in Asia. The rice was cold or coldish. The coconut&mango "dressing" was tasty and well-spiced, but the papaya "dressing" consisted mainly of raw onion and it was an unpleasantly overwhelming taste. The staff served my cocktail to a different table and wanted to persuade the gentelmen there that they had ordered it... Generally for the price I would expect something way better, but what I got was a lot of rice. Two stars out of five: one for the interior and the other for the pet dog. Food did not deserve a star. The check was wrong by 2k dongs (nothing, but still) in the restaurant's favour. I just didn't feel like asking why, prefered to go someplace else for the evening.

Best food in Hoi An - Edit
Between the main restaurant & the smaller one, we ate here five times in as many days. The menu here has plenty of delicious & creative options, whether you want to stuff your face or just have something light as you escape the summer heat. They also have western-style blended soups, which were a life-saver when dealing with an upset stomach. Service was good every time, though English levels vary between staff.
Read moreThe cooking class is very flexible, with each participant picking one dish from the menu for the group to cook & share. The chef's English is passable, and he was very patient & friendly (though did seem to noticeably favour male volunteers). All in all, a great place to eat for veggies in Hoi An.

So delicious! - Edit
Ordered the soy tofu which was amazing. Had a fruit platter for dessert which was a bit tasteless but good selection. Had a lovely passion fruit mojito as well. Very good value for most things and a huge vegan selection. Even meat eater friends loved it! Dangerous looking mould in the toilet though.

Not to be missed! - Edit
So nice to find somewhere with a fully vegetarian/vegan menu. Went a little overboard and ordered lots of different dishes; all of which were totally delicious! The bok choy with mushrooms and garlic was a highlight. I think I'll go back again tonight to try a few more things!

I enjoyed the food at this restaurant so much that I went back again the next night. Lovely chilled atmosphere and great opportunity to try vegetarian versions of local Vietnamese specialities. The Pho (noodle soup) and White Rose were especially delicious and the fresh beer is also excellent!

Tourist Trap - Edit
After reading the plethora of rave reviews, and wanting to try a fresh beer with our meal, my dining companion and I ventured forth to locate Minh Hien. While okay, the two 'mains' we ordered - tofu in lemongrass and eggplant in tamarind - were super-sweet and pretty basic, and served on saucers!!! Not enough to feed a child. Their 'signature dish', white rose, is basically a few pieces of rice noodle shaped into roses. While the sauce is tasty, how these people can charge more than double the price of a full 'com chay' meal for a mouthful of rice patty, without shame, is beyond me. The papaya salad, which was the highlight (listed as a 'starter', it was the only dish served on what could legitimately be termed a 'plate'), needed a good dose of chilli, lime and garlic.

Best veggie place in Vietnam. - Edit
Honestly one of the best vegetarian restaurants I've ever been to. Like ever.
Read moreEverything on the menu is veggie/vegan Vietnamese and so tasty. A set menu for two is about 179,000 D, and it's a feast.
Ended up eating here for a few nights of our stay in Hoi An. I think most veggie visitors do too.
Try the banana leaf baked stuffed tofu.

Get the Banh Mi - Edit
This place is so highly rated on Happy Cow and Google so we just had to give it a go while in Hoi an.
Read moreWe ended up eating here pretty much every day for 3 days mostly because the vego options in this town are quite limited.
The setting is good, the food is ok, but slightly dull, the service is quick and efficient and they sell fresh beer for 3,000 a glass.
I liked the local specialities, we had the cau lau (spelling?) a few times and really enjoyed it. I also had the spicy bun soup which was really tasty but lacked veggies. The garlic rice was delicious and only 15,000, the tofu with fresh veg was a waste of time as it was very small and tasteless and the sweet and sour tofu was really tiny and lacked sauce.
One thing I would recommend is the veggie banh mi. It's 20,000 and is probably the best thing I have eaten during my 3 weeks in Vietnam. It's full of veggies, tofu, a mushroom pate, salad, sauce and is truly amazing.
Overall we enjoyed the food, but it definitely could be nicer and maybe bigger... Great beer though lol!

Pros: The banh mi, Cheap Beer, Lots of tofu
Cons: No mock meats, Rice isn't included, Gets pretty busy

Favourite spot in Hoi An! - Edit
This was my favourite restaurant in Hoi An by far- maybe in all of Vietnam. Reasonable prices, nice staff, got to try veg versions of local food. The Cao Lau was delicious - lots of fresh mint! Also the passion fruit juice. We took the cooking class ($15/person) which was great- I said I was vegan and they made sure we didn't use any honey etc in the dishes we made. It was 2 hours and we made 3 dishes. Such a nice break from the rest of the tourist trap restaurants in Hoi An!!

Average food, slightly over priced - Edit
I was underwhelmed by the food, disappointingly as the place, the ambience is nice. I was looking forward to trying something local from the varied and interesting menu, opting for white rose. Surprisingly for a place that offers cooking classes, it was very bland. It was also expensive for veg food in Vietnam, although this may reflect the high prices in Hội An generally.

Cool place with customer reviews and manga everywhere! The food is cheap (29,000-45,000 for mains) and really flavorful.. Try the White Rose dumplings and the Hoi An noodles for local specialties. Also, the stuffed tofu is amazing.

Amazing food & the cooking class was fab! - Edit
There are 2 of these restaurants & they're both super great. The food is mega scrummy! I'd recommend the Hoi An garlic fried rice & the sautéed pumpkin with roasted peanuts. My boyfriend had the tofu in a clay pot & raved about it, along with the banana fritters for dessert. We also attended a cooking class at the main one in town & we loved it, just us & a cook! We chose 3 dishes & made it all start to finish. Beyond great food, & all the people are super lovely! Plus they have fresh beer for 3,000 VND! Everything was so cheap, & tasted fabulous.

Really nice - Edit
All the food was really tasty and the service good. Definitely worth going there.
Read moreThe cooking class there is real fun and I would always do it again! (Just dont choose to learn how to do the pancakes because its premixed powder so basically nothing you learn)
Only critics I have is that we learned how to do the sweet and sour soup in the cooking class and when we ordered it the other day. It was very different from what we learned and not even half as tasty.
