Nice! - Edit
We had a great time at Mila. Good place, nice welcome and delicious food. Many choices available. Waitress asked us for allergies and prevented us that all is vegan. We really liked our meal there.

Highlight of Vancouver - Edit
I spent two weeks in Vancouver and my meal at MILA was definitely the best of the entire trip. The grilled squash salad was spectacular - made me appreciate radicchio in a way I never had before, and the combination of flavors and textures was a home run.

Delicious food and great service - Edit
Came here and got the poke sushi, Dan Dan noodles and bao buns. Everything was incredible, also got the all that glitter cocktails and finished it off with the meringue desert. So wonderful, the bartender was super sweet and we had great conversation. Would definitely come here again!

Big hits and big misses - Edit
Hard to rate because the hits were REALLY hits, totally 5 star. The breakfast bao, sushi, and Dan Dan noodles in particular. And the desserts! Some of the best food I’ve had. The atmosphere is good. But, I’ve also had some really bad experiences that you don’t expect at that price point. Some dry pastas, things coming out cold (and then waiting for ages for them to bring it out again while everyone else is already done their meal), and weird/bad service at times. Always felt understaffed.

Curbed my craving for quiche during covid! - Edit
We made a reservation for MILA for our Valentine’s Day meal when it had newly opened - it was during covid so the atmosphere wasn’t great, all masked up and limited number of guests but the interior was nice and the food was approved by us both.
Read moreI had waited some ridiculous number of years for quiche - I think this was the first vegan quiche I’d ever had so I must’ve been waiting near on 5+ years. I got a slice of quiche in addition to my meal but had to take it home as my meal was quite filling.
My partner also enjoyed the sushi - he is a huge seafood fan but did rate the vegan sushi here at MILA!
I’d love to come back when I’m back in Van to experience MILA post-pandemic and have some more quiche!
Pros: Vegan quiche!, Modern/sleek interior, Filling food

It was a sad time but thankfully we're all back to normal now, even hosting events and large parties regularly! Can't wait to have you back again. We no longer serve the quiche but sure you'll enjoy something from our new menu.

Loved it! - Edit
While visiting friends in Vancouver we had the pleasure of dining at Mila. For dinner we had mushroom Wellington served with some of the tastiest roasted Brussels sprouts we ever had. Dessert was peanut butter cup pie, rich and delicious. We look forward to eating there again the next time we are in Vancouver.

Delicious and Creative Menu - Edit
Have only visited once and will definitely be going back! The best thing we tried is the karaage bao hands down, I would have ordered 3 more orders for myself if I had a bigger stomach. The celeriac cod tacos were to die for and my partner had the smash burger which was delicious and flavourful. The apple pie bao was outstanding as well, I cannot wait to try more items on the menu!

Loved this place! Our server was so nice and pleasant. The food was delicious! I had the mushroom sausage tagliatelle, and my husband had the burger (which he said was one of the best he’s had!). We finished off with the peanut butter desert. Everything was just fabulous!

Great Plant Based Experience - Edit
Mila was fantastic! Such a great variety of options from sushi to noodles to burgers. I ordered the bao buns, sushi roll, Dan Dan noodles, and the apple pie bao bun. Drinks were also fantastic! Perfect for date nights, a dinner with vegan and non vegan friends, or really any occasion. Mila did not disappoint.

Plant based - Edit
A fully plant based place that was on top of my list before even booking a flight to Vancouver ✈️ 🌱
Read moreI chose the Karaage Bao 😻
Tofu karaage, hot honey mustard slaw, kewpie mayo, japanese pickled cucumber 🥒
Their Instagram page shows all the different dishes which is great
I was here the first time the last weekend and I will definitely come back to try the other options
📍 location wise it’s in Chinatown so it was a bit dodgy waiting in the evening for the bus 🚌
👨🍳 The service is great - how come everyone is so friendly here ? 💕 🥺 (in Germany you would never do small talk with the staff in a restaurant) so I do very appreciate this 🥰🙏
I’m in love with Bao Buns and I do them back home as well 🤓
The Tofu was so crispy ~ never had something that crispy like schnitzel-like-texture before 🤩🌱highly recommended 💪
also the salad in the Bao is very good, only I’m not a big fan of Mayo so maybe next time I ask for one without that
💰 Price-wise Mila is more on the expensive side, but you will get what you pay for 💕at the other table they had some amazing looking sushi 🍱 and you can also watch them freshly prepare the Sushi while seating options are nice
Well I go here again? Of course - it was amazing 😻 And there are so many things to try!
Pros: Vegan, Bao
Cons: Expensive, Location, Mayo

Some exceptional dishes - Edit
Mila fits a nice niche in the vegan food scene in YVR. I appreciate that they are always innovating and improving on the menu. The bao went from meh in its first iteration to now having a few exceptional baos.

Such flavourful food at MILA! Do not miss out on their appetizers. I highly recommend their Aburi sushi & smashed potatoes with sambal aioli. Foods are on the pricier side but that is usually expected in the city. Definitely worth the trip to MILA!

Good. Like, really good. - Edit
I’ve been here twice (first time on my birthday) and I can’t wait to be back and try more of their food. It was seriously good, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and cool at the same time.
Read moreI’m in love with their potatoes - the miso butter they use to cook them with is just *chef’s kiss*. The ginger dip is also amazing. I could probably bathe in that stuff it’s so good.
We also tried the green onion pancake (really tasty but didn’t like the sour cream so I just dipped it in the ginger dip for the potatoes) and the bao buns for appetizers. For our entree we had the smash burger (it’s so good I can’t really put it into words. Just... get it. You won’t regret it), the steak burger, the fish sandwich, the dan dan noodles, and the romesco pasta. We had the churros and the peanut butter pie for dessert.
Everything was super tasty with the exception of the romesco pasta - it was pretty bland and meh. I wouldn’t get that again, but would definitely reorder the smash burger and dan dan noodles.
I think this might become one of my new favourite restaurants. I look forward to trying their seasonal gnocchi dish and their sushi! Can’t wait to be back.

Don't bother - Edit
If you want to hang out somewhere stylish and don't care about the food, this might be a fun after work place to go. If you care about what food tastes like, give it a pass.
Read moreMila roll: the only descriptor I can manage is "adequate". They were ok, but not interesting, especially at that price point.
"Fish" tacos: the texture of the deep fried celeriac was pretty good. The slaw was dull. The tortillas were unforgivable. I ordered corn tortillas on purpose because at a place with this branding and price range they should be good. They weren't house made or even warmed with some steam to keep them from cracking. My dish looked like a compost bin when it arrived. The tortilla was broken into bits, you couldn't pick them up. Dry, stale, dull.
Churros: churros can be magic. These were not. They were not fresh, they were rubbery, and they were undercooked in the middle to the point of being mushy and inedible.
I really wanted to like this place. But they made it impossible.
Pros: Vegan, Maybe the in-house atmosphere would be nice
Cons: Tastless, Stale , Expensive

Not worth the hype - Edit
We came here and were disappointed in the first 30 seconds. We made reservations well in advanced and when we checked in we were asked if we could be done quickly for the table after us. Very rude. The place wasn't even busy and we were given some table at the bar so it was just bad. The food was decent but the service needs tons of improvement. The server kept forgetting things and just wasn't around much at all. The bartender wasn't wearing gloves and kept putting her hands on the stuff going into drinks. I asked for a lemon and I watched her grab it with her bare hand. Grossed me out. The food was not up to the hype and we wouldn't go back. #Veganuary

Definitely agree. The food was mediocre and when I called, the person answered so rudely it was like trying to talk about math homework with a teenager. (Sorry teenagers, I'm generalizing, I know that's not fair)

Everything was awesome - Edit
Just checked out this restaurant in Vancouver’s Chinatown for the first time. It will definitely not be the last!! Great vibes, gorgeous cocktails, attentive service and delicious food. We tried the sour cream pancake and orange tofu for an appetizer. They were delish. I couldn’t get enough of the sauces they were paired with. The prices are insane, such good value. My spouse had the burger and loved it. He said it was the best restaurant burger he’s had. I tried the Wellington and it was amazing! I can’t believe how well they pulled it off with beets, mushrooms and spices. It tasted like Christmas. Lastly, I tried the eggnog cocktail and my spouse had the pear one. Both great. Recommend this restaurant to anyone.
