Small And Expensive

We went last week and it was very small. And very expensive. $11 for pineapples where they are 2 for $1 at local fruit shops. No breads. No specialty foods. Very little produce out in a hot field. Don't bother.

Pros: Lots Of Parking

Cons: Hot Open Air Field, Expensive, Small

Great Tofu and Greens (and reds, and yellows. Purple too.)

Hi, we must have bumped into each other in the line at the Tofu stall! I also go there almost every Sunday, and for sure, the Japanese Tofu there are soooo delicious!

We (I and my husband) go to this unique organic market for fresh quality food all the time, and also for joy. They have fresh organic produce such as bananas, eggplants, apples, grapes, pumpkins, plums, potatoes, broccolis, spinach, tomatoes, oranges, red basil, huge tasty garlic, etc. etc. There's also dried fruits and nuts and seeds, activated nuts, olive oil, apple vinegar, coconut yogurt, free run happy eggs, meat (pork, chicken, beef, and kangaroo I think - (probably good, IDK we're not meateaters), and really, really delicious cheese! And especially, the best Japanese tofu that one can find all along the Gold Coast. Everything is certified organic. We really love the food we bought from this market – the price is equivalent to the organic produce in supermarkets but in general much higher quality.

The environment is very relaxed and friendly –– We truly enjoy being there every Sunday morning ! There are buses that go there, and there is a large parking lot. If we have to miss one day because of travelling (not now or near future Thank God!), we definitely feel the loss!

In my view, Miami high school organic market provides the best food one could find in Gold Coast. Did I mention the tasty Tofu?

Pros: Great Tofu, fresh, the best you can get

Cons: Bus stop is 100 meters down the road., If you lean back on the stools, they will break

Simply the best food source!

My treat every Sunday morning is to take the first bus down to the beach and then walk up to Miami for the Organic Farmers Market. And they're simply the best. All local, so the food is really fresh; great choice and enough of it, so I get all I need there; reasonably priced: usually, but not even always a few cents more than Woollies - but when I compare side-by-side, the quality is always so much better! Texture more fresh. Taste more transparent. Flavours more complex. And you buy from the farmers - super nice, honest people who do honest work. I buy my entire week's groceries there and I don't have to go to the town centre more than once a month max. What a soul saver!

And there's extra treats: coffee that's roasted on site in a van; amazingly delicious fried agedashi tofu; cinnamon scrolls from the baker – and a happy little crowd of maggies choralling for some scraps. And a curious crow. And for a few weeks now they've had a guy with a guitar singing some thoughtful tunes. Nice.

Is it small? Well, compared to what? It's large enough for all my needs, for sure.

Is it expensive? Aldi is cheaper, no contest. But you get what you pay for.

Is it convenient to reach? There's lots of parking - but if you add a walk on the beach, that's a fabulous combination.

Anyway – I'm a regular there, I wouldn't want to miss it ever. I shop on a budget, but I just can't afford cheap food. This is my market.
