Disappointed - Edit
We went there for lunch because we saw the place being in the top list of Bogota. And it was quite a disappointment for us. They offered us only the menu of the day, and we asked for a menu they told us they don't have one.

The spinach soup was nice, but the main dish was white rice, with russian salad (in Bogota?!) with a cold, very dense patty served with a creamy sauce. And a salad on a side, with a very sweet sauce. We were not impressed and it's nothing more than an average menu del dia place.
Also, we saw the sign of the price being 13.000pesos, but when we wanted to pay the waiter told us it's 15.000pesos. and that was the old price.

Mestizo offers traditional dishes from Colombia and LATAM. Everything looks so great everytime, although pasta is not the best here. Pet-friendly.

The restaurant is just amazing, the food is delicious, the place is cozy and beautiful and the staff is super nice. In adittion, the prices are super good. I, as a local vegan, would say it's one of the best restaurants in town.

We ate her 3 times in our 5 day stay and loved everything we tried. You can try vegan versions of Colombian food and the staff are lovely. We spent around $30000 (pesos) for 2 meals, 2 drinks and a cake (we loved the passion fruit one).

Excellent food, speedy lunch service - Edit
If you go at lunch time they offer you the menu of day which is excellent and because it’s being prepared continuously they can serve you as soon as you sit down. The food was amazing, the service was super friendly and the low price wrapped it all very nicely. They also have an à la carte menu filled with tipical meals from all over Latin America. Definitely recommend!

My family and I came here for lunch, we were immediately seated upstairs by a friendly server who brought us our food almost immediately. There is one set dish each day, influenced by a different area of Colombia or Latin America, and ours was a delicious maize wrap with mushroom and soy, a mango salad and coconut rice. Four meals, drinks, soup starters and a chocolate cake to share cost us the equivalent of £15.

My favorite restaurant in Bogotá - Edit
We went to a bunch of vegan and vegetarian restaurants while we were in Bogotá and Mestizo was my absolute favorite one. I loved the food, the atmosphere and the incredible friendly staff. We went twice. The first time we had a rice dish and an absolutely delicious dish with plátano. The second time we had the Mexican platter. My husband and friend also had the chocolate cake dessert and loved it.

This is one of the few places that has hot sauces for seasoning your meal. Otherwise, there's a nice blend of fried, raw and pan cooked food.

My girlfriend and I arrived at 2pm. There was a movie shown in the restaurant so we sat outside. The service was really friendly. There were two options of burgers we could choose. A Mexican style bean burger and a mushroom onion burger. We have chosen both and they were huge and delicious. Served with popcorn and a fresh sugar-free juice for 15000 pesos.

Absolutely delicious vegan cuisine. I would definitely call this vegan gourmet. I love that the restaurant offers dishes from many countries in South america, including Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and traditional Colombian. The seitan was absolutely amazing, made from amaranth, garbanzo, quinoa, and vegetables. The portions were perfect, and the veggie burger was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The head chef, Nando, was extremely enthusiastic and friendly! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in Bogota :) and DEFINITELY try the chocolate cake!!!

Mestizo has a varied and well-designed menu. His owner, Nando, has a wide gastronomic knowledge and if you want he can explain each ingredient of your dish. The restaurant is cozy, well decorated. The taste of its options is amazing and the prices are good. Recommended 100%!!
