Best in London - Edit
Coming from Germany, travelling London as a vegan has been quiet disappointing. Its all overpriced and overrated and not nearly as convenient as media reports would suggest. This little jewel is priceless though. Located in a nice flea market that already is worth the travel it is really as colorful as the pics suggest (no editing). All beautifully freshly prepared, nutritious with a huge selection of legume dishes, very tasty and so reasonably priced. For less than 7£ you get a take away portion big enough for 2!!

Fantastic - Edit
This place is really great. I always eat here whenever I’m at my company’s London office. The “full house” is essentially a bit of everything they do. And it’s all fantastic. Can’t rate it highly enough.

I love Merkamo Ethiopian food. It is healthy, fresh, tasty and super cheap - £6.50 for a generous portion. My favourites are the gluten free platter and the injera traditional plate.

So good I got seconds! - Edit
This street food is nothing short of stunning. The colours, the smells and the taste from the moment you spot it in your sights. If you like eating for colour you’ll love it. Even if you don’t, you’ll love it.

So much great, healthy, delicious food, I very quickly went from absolutely starving to comfortably full on this meal. Such great flavours and for anyone who was questioning whether a healthy, plant-based meal could be filling - here's the proof!

Healthy vegan fare - Edit
Didn't expect them to be open as I was half an hour early but they were setting up the display plates. Affordable and flavoursome vegan food compared to a lot of specialty vegan restaurants in town. From broad beans and okra to lentils and couscous... So good!

Ethiopian vegan food is the future - Edit
The first time I had ever tried Ethiopian vegan food and what a joy! A lot of different flavours on the plate and afterwards I didn't feel hungry for a few days!! Definitely recommend and now a common source of food when I'm at the market.

This stall is fantastic!! Large array of salads/stews/curries, served with traditional Ethiopian bread. I also had a coconut dumpling thing (not sure of it's proper name) that was fried. A little bit sweet, but fluffy and great dipped into the sauces
Read moreEach plate of food ordered had a good mix of food, with lots of pulses and veg and salads. Nice chilli sauce available to add at the front of the stall - refreshing and tangy, but with good bit of kick!!

Lovely vegan market stall - Edit
Merkamo have got 5 or so options for their takeaway boxes, each displayed as a plate at the front of their stall. This includes a gluten free option. All of them are super healthy and a mixture of delicately flavoured beans, pulses, lentils, or rice in various sauces, with vegetables and the option to add samosas (either filled or unfilled). The injera dishes come with the signature spongey flat bread cut into little rolls with which you can scoop up the sauces. Staff are friendly, the stall is busy during lunch hours but you never have to wait too long. Prices are good too.
