Got there right before the end of dine-in hours at 2 pm and were immediately seated and served. My husband had the gimbap which was very mushroom-y and I was not a fan, but the sweet and sour cauliflower was amazing!! The Sakura-themed drinks for springtime were adorable and delicious. There is also a case of pretty vegan sweets. We would be back here if our time in Osaka weren’t so short.

We went for breakfast and ordered the egg sandwich and a chocolate tart. It was fantastic. If you are in the mood for an egg sandwich then this is the place. The tart felt so fancy and I love that you can get vegan versions of such luxurious desserts. So glad I came here on my trip. The owner also seems really friendly, which I was able to try for lunch.

I went there after lunch period was over, so the menu was limited. However, the interaction with the staff was wonderful! I don’t speak much Japanese and there was a misunderstanding with my order, they rectified the misunderstanding and were so nice and generous which they didn’t need to do. The food was amazing. We rushed over to pick up some sweet potato vegan pudding almost at closing one night, then came back the next day for lunch, because I really wanted to try their vegan egg sandwiches. It did not disappoint. Amazing. We also tried the sweet and sour cauliflower and kurmafu - all delicious.

This place is so lovely, and the food is very delicious. I walked here from the “centre” and was greeted by lovely staff. The person behind the counter was very friendly and polite and spoke English to me. I indulged and bought a persimmon tart, an egg sandwich and a box of 6 pastries to take home and share (2 of each kind). All were absolutely stunning. The egg sandwich was really really impressive and delicious to me. It even looked like egg. Another reviewer said it tasted like vinegar and mayo but to me it really tasted like egg. I loved this place! It's located a bit in the maze of the streets next to the larger ones, but well worth a visit. I ate the banana cake, cinnamon rolls and some salty, croissant like buns. Absolutely delicious, a must if you want some vegan breakfast!

Lovely New Fully-Vegan Spot in Osaka - Edit
I stopped by for lunch at the beginning of July and then took some things to go. Here's what I tried:

This was really unique and so good! It's made of a creamy kabocha filling, mimicking the taste and texture of egg in a satisfying way without being overpowering.
Banana tart (also take-away): 9/10
This was very smooth and well-balanced with a crunchy crust.
Gimbap with fried fu combo (eat-in): 6.5/10
I know that typically the rice in gimbap is oiled, but this one was too oily for me. I also wanted to try it with some kimchi or other additional seasoning.
I'm sorry I didn't love the gimbap but I'm excited to go back and try more of the bakery items. If I lived nearby, I would make the tamago sando a staple weekday lunch or picnic item.

The Best Vegan Food In Osaka!!!! - Edit
The vegan sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, pastries, and drinks are pieces of art. It looks too pretty to eat, but I had to do it. I must say the food tasted even better than it looked, and the food looked decadent. But the kindness I received at Mercy Vegan is something that is hard to describe. Osaka is a big city, but I felt the warm compassion and loving nature of Japan here. If there’s one thing that I will always remember coming to Osaka, it’s Mercy Vegan. Mahalo Nui Loa my friends.
