Pricey comfort ramen

Mendokoro makes a tasty ramen and thus, is always crowded. They have 3 vegan ramens, but unfortunately not much else in the way of vegan options. (They may have edamame but a premium price.) This is par for the course in BGC where most places only serve 1-2 options.

The Shoyu (560₱) is our family favorite here, then the Tantanmen (540₱). Both have rich broths and the portions are reasonably filling, but most other diners eat a ramen and a number of other small sides. I’d probably do the same if non-ramen, vegan options were available.

Rich, flavorful vegan ramen

So happy they introduced a vegan line up. I have tried the tantanmen and shio so far. The tantanmen has vegan mince, a rich and creamy broth with a hint of coconut milk, topped with Bok Choy. The shio is lighter but very flavorful. It has a vegan chashu that has a ground meat texture. I like that it is topped with vegan aji tamago.
Update: finally tried all 3, had the shoyu recently. It's a creamy kind of shoyu, not clear. Broth is good. As with shio, it has chashu (I'm thinking now it tastes like beyond) and vegan aji tamago.
Verdict: my favorite is the tantanmen!
