Good vegan choices - Edit
I had a mixed platter with seitan sausages. Everything tasted really good and the staff was attentive and nice. Quite pricey for Belgrade standards though.

Great vegan food! - Edit
Great experience here. I found the waitstaff pretty friendly, though of course in a non-smothering European way. They even served me dinner my last night when they were starting to close up and we’re super non-rushing and friendly about it. I’ll come here first my next trip to Belgrade!

Regular - Edit
Read morePros: Muchas opciones veganas y bien cocinadas.
Cons: Es bastante caro.

Value - Edit
Good food huge portions. I had the Serbian sausage and the Dochola (I think) steak. Both came with bread with chickpea and pea spread and a small salad. Main also had curried veg. Waaaaay to much for one sitting so I have lunch tomorrow sorted by the looks!

Too expensive for Serbia. - Edit
This was my fifth and possibly last visit to Mayka. The whole menu is overpriced for Serbia.
Read moreBurger was very dry and fries were oily. There are no prices for the juices, they use some weird weight system which I've never seen anywhere else in the world. The only good thing I have enjoyed on the menu is the curry, unfortunately I don't like eating them when the weather is hot. Very disappointed.
Pros: Curries are good, Juices are good but no set prices
Cons: Very Expensive menu, No prices for the juices, weird weight system, Dry burgers and oily fries.

Very nice food, excellent seitan. Vegetarian but many vegan options to choose from, the staff is vegan aware and the vegan options are marked clearly.

Unassuming Vegetarian restaurant - Edit
Everything is at least lacto-Ivo vegetarian, went here by accident when another restaurant nearby was closed and had some of the best meals ever. Makes great seitan fake-meats.

The place was really beautiful either you sit inside or outside and the stuff and owner seemed nice and well spoken in English. It was expensive indeed, but you eat a lot and good quality. Recommended

Vintage place and good vegan food - Edit
This place looks very nice and vintage. We felt very good during our dinner here. The music was good and the staff very friendly. We tried the falafel burger and another one with seitan and we recommend them both. Very good and fulfilling.

something special - Edit
Definitely a must visit. Extensive menu dominantly vegan. Very interesting ideas. Really thankful to be able to try local Serbian dishes veganised.

We had a blast in Mayka - Edit
We had one of the best vegan dinners in Belgrade in this restaurant. The owner offered to suggest a selection of meals and we liked the idea. What we got was a variety of extremely tasty, all different meals, where it was hard to decide which one was better!

No so great place - Edit
It was a very strange, uncomfortable place. The vegan food lacks originality. But, more than everything is that the owner of the place is treating his stuff badly, meddling with their job and the stuff was really trying to be very polite. I do not recommend the place. It is overrated and too pricy for what you get.

funky restaurant - Edit
The interior of this restaurant is amazing! We tried falafel burger slightly too deep fried, club sandwich was nice but little dry at end, mac burger was lovely, chips were little greasy, chocolate smoothie was amazing, fresh fruit juice with pomegranate was yummy, vegan brownie was good with the ganache but otherwise dry, the orange and chilli vegan cake was weird and jelly like and nice if you like chilli in a dessert!

Mayka- made with care - Edit
I spent 5 nights in Belgrade, and on 3 separate occasions dined at Mayka.. The food is great, with plenty of variety on the menu for vegans such as me, plus delicious desserts, beer and good, strong coffee; what's not to like?
Read moreThe staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke excellent English (thank you!!).
If you don't like people smoking (outside), find another place. Mayka is not a hipster hangout but the food, ambiance and service are first class. The location may appear tricky to find, but once you've got your bearings, you will realise just how close it is to the main drag, Knez Mihailova. Get down there!
Thank you Mayka. You made my stay not just survivable but thoroughly enjoyable!

I ate here three times over last 4 days. Food is good but not always consistent (e.g. today Rajastani curry was little too salty). Service is attentive and welcoming with smile, desserts are excellent.

Delicious food in heart of Belgrade - Edit
We had amazing food here in funky vintage store atmosphere. The mixed veg and vegan options with international and national twists. This is not a vegan restaurant you are going to leave hungry. They also have a very nice beer selection and lots of lots of teas. We were too full to have desert but they looked amazing. If I live in Belgrade Imwould be here everyday!

A good choice.... just not as good as Mandala - Edit
It's very good, the vibe is great, the decor is unique and interesting. The staff were great, my waiter spoke perfect English and was very friendly. I had the chips and mushrooms starter, which was basically exactly as described, and how I would make it myself at home - thrown in a pan, fried, then thrown in a bowl with some ketchup. My main course was the Serbian special, a pepper stuffed with some sort of cottage cheese, then battered and deep-fried - delicious. With some kebab type things that could easily pass as meat kebabs - quite nice. And some fairly stale bread - not so nice. But overall I enjoyed it, and would have gone again.
Read moreHad I written this review yesterday it would read better. But if you carry on down the side street past the building works you'll find Mandala, where I went today. And that's really top-drawer veggie dining, as good as you'll find anywhere. And to that, Mayka doesn't really compare.
Pros: Nice vibe, Good atmosphere, Decent food
Cons: Fairly rudimentary cookery skills on display, Why go here, when Mandala is 50 metres away?
