Marco Polo's Vegan Teriyaki - Edit
I tried their 'vegan teriyaki'. It had tofu, onions, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, asparagus, veggie chicken, brown rice with garlic/ginger sauce. It was very tasty and big enough for two meals.

Good options - Edit
Veg and vegan items are clearly marked in a separate menu. Also had a separate gluten free menu. Food was good and combination of options was a bit eclectic and unusual (mix of Chinese, Thai, and Italian is how I’d describe it). Definitely recommend if you have a combo of people with different eating preferences. Plus, at the end when they gave out the fortune cookies, they had a separate gluten free cookie with a fortune for our GF family. Portions were gigantic. Staff was super attentive. The app only allows 5 stars for fully vegan or veg restaurants but given the number of options, I would have given 5 stars but for the app.

Should have been a 5 - Edit
Happy Cow wouldn't allow me to award this business a five, because it is not totally vegan. However, this restaurant has a separate vegetarian menu, which includes many vegan options, and the staff are very accommodating about changes to get you what you want. I have not had a bad meal here yet. Make sure you get the brown rice with your dish. It's not really brown rice, more of a red, but it has an excellent bite to it and it is pleasantly flavorful. I've had curried vegetables, the cashew vegetables, fried rice with no egg or fish sauce, so many dishes that were just great. Whenever friends and I are in Salem, we go to Marco Polo. I highly recommend. 💗

Marco Polo Chinese Restaurant - Edit
The vegetarian menu is mostly vegan except for the "European" section, so this "global restaurant" is mostly offering Chinese dishes to vegan customers. I ordered the Teriyaki Tofu. I would have preferred more broccoli and less sauce, but it was okay overall. The complimentary coconut cookies looked better than they tasted.

Amazing menu! - Edit
They serve the best Chinese food I’ve had, along with other cuisines as well! Vegan items are clearly marked on the regular menu, they have an entire vegan menu, and they have multiple amazing meat-alternatives available. When we place our vegan order they always automatically give us these wonderful little vegan cookies instead of the fortune cookies. Great for takeout and family dinners!

I’d give 5 stars if I could. They have a completely separate menu for gluten free and vegan. A lot of delicious choices including Pad Thai with tofu, Vegetable Curries and Vegetable Stir fries. Complementary gluten free vegan coconut cookie with the check!

Our family favorite - Edit
Our family loves eating here. We even had my daughter’s college grad family party there in the banquet room. My family is both vegan and meat-eating, so we enjoy gathering here because “just a salad” isn’t the vegan option—there’s an entire multi-page vegan/vegetarian menu.

So many options! - Edit
I love how this place is so distinct with what is vegan and what is not. They have seperate menus for vegan, vegan, and vegetarian. On top of that, there’s plenty of vegan options to choose from. In terms of taste, I would say the food here is delicous! (however i am not that picky when it comes to food.) I got the General Tso’s with a veggie substitute, and a side of brown rice. Love the sauce, The spicy level “hot” was just perfect. Bonus: Comes with a complimentary vegan cookie!!

I have had their vegan sweet & sour with the veggie meat and it is pretty good but a very heavy meal and you will feel it. Ask for the vegan menu and make your life easier! They will also give you a vegan cookie instead of a fortune cookie which is a thoughtful touch.

The guy at our hotel recommended this place and I'm so glad we went. My mom and her friend got meat meals but their vegetarian/vegan menu was superb they also had a gf menu if that's important to you. My mom and her friend tried my orange "chicken" and couldn't believe it wasnt real meat. The dumplings were my favorite and an absolute must!

Best place in Salem - Edit
Staff were friendly as soon as we walked in. We were asked if we had any dietary restrictions as we were seated and when we told them we were vegan they gave us the vegetarian menu which is 90% vegan! The food was delicious and they were attentive about giving us a heads up on exclusionary ingredients without being asked. The check was dropped off with two homemade cookies labeled 'vegan'. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant in Salem!

Separate Vegetarian & GF Menus - Edit
I loved not having to hunt through the menu to find the vegetarian options, so this place scores on that account. And bonus points for having a safe menu for people with Celiacs! Yummy food. The hot pepper oil prepared in-house hardly had any heat but did add a nice flavor. The "brown rice" was probably actually forbidden or black rice – moist, slightly sticky, and nutty. I'll be stopping here again.

Fantastic - Edit
Fantastic food! The freshness of the vegetables is fantastic and they have been perfectly cooked the three times that we have been there with flavorful sauces and the best vegetarian hot and sour soup that we've had. The brown rice that they serve is also excellent and it's available with no additional charge which is nice. It's a brown rice blend with a nutty flavor and texture which goes well with the flavorful sauces that come with the various meals. Tofu has a nice texture and perfectly cooked. So far we have tried six different items off their oriental menu and have been extremely happy each time. As I like my food on the spicy side the waitress (who was excellent) brought us a small dishes of fresh condiments to add the heat we wanted. We'll have to try the other vegetarian menu items sometime also. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and the guests that we took there were very happy with their meals (carnivor guests).

We were very surprised to find such a gem in Salem. They offer so many veg options that is hard to decide what to order. They have a separate veg menu (make sure you ask for it).
