Absolutely Delicious!!!

Sooooo good 😋 great prices, great variety of options. I wish I lived nearby so I could go all the time; would be the perfect lunch spot for those working downtown.

Let’s go!!

Umeke market

Finally got to visit! Great service, large menu, parking available but pay to park.
Only Monday to Friday from 8am-2pm

Falafel gyro-
Breakfast sandwich- really good, cannot complain especially for its price point
Oahu colada- very smooth and tasty, very lovely

They definitely know how to feed you right especially for the price. great quality and quantity. Already excited to hopefully visit again as some point. Only issue is my own work schedule. Excellent in my eyes. 5.

Pros: Great taste and quality , Great quantity for the price, Kind service and plenty of options

Cons: Parking, Daily schedule (no weekends or evenings)

Umeke delight, downtown Honolulu.

Just across the street of my hotel, I found this little jewel of plant based deliciousness. I had the spinach dhal, a salad and a handful falafels. All that for only $13.50. Friendly staff and great music. Lots of choices and all plant based. The majority of dishes were Gluten Free. Will be back, for sure.

Pros: Food choices, Taste of what I ordered, The price

Dreaming about some of these meals

The mochiko chicken is a favorite. Only thing is I gotta ask for extra sauce. The mushroom Alfredo fettuccine taste so good I can hurt myself trying to finish the whole plate. Their plates portions are huge. They do curb pickup, but I think it’s not as common anymore so I always tip. I do the curb pickup cause they’re in the middle of DOWNTOWN!

Pros: Everything , Please stay open!

Cons: Not a single con

Super friendly and so delicious

Local options like sauteed taro greens with chunks of taro root, local style collards, and tofu musubi. Everything we had was really tasty, including the burrito with walnut lentil meat and a taco, and curry. They were generous with serving sizes and we had enough left over for dinner. Prices were reasonable. Very friendly staff.

Pros: Tasty local food options, Generous portions , Friendly staff

Extremely tasty

Stopped here for the breakfast and got the egg English muffin (with potatoes) and the breakfast burrito (which I liked a bit more). Both were extremely tasty and highly recommended. We also had a day old cinnamon roll which was great too. Wish we could have stopped back in for lunch. Would recommend this place for sure.

Pros: Very tasty, Two sauce options for burrito

Still thinking about it…🤤

Let me start with the cons/minor inconveniences- no restrooms and a bit difficult to find. The girls working told us where to find the closest clean bathroom, so that was super helpful.

Despite the inconveniences, it was soo worth it!! So mouthwatering and delicious. I keep trying to find reasons to go downtown to visit it again.

Most everything is made and ready to serve (plate lunch).

You get to choose your proteins and create your own combos with rice and or salad for the plates. Everything was fantastic!

We went for lunch and ordered the nachos with chili and Korean mock chicken, a combo plate, the crispy burrito, and some cinnamon rolls.

I’m still dreaming about the Korean mock chicken. I can’t wait to go back and try the breakfast!

Don’t miss the Umeke Market!

Pros: Quick, Korean mock chicken, Delicious food and large selection.

Breakfast Buffet

Everything is already made, so you can look before deciding. I chose a Mock Sausage McLovin and a side of potatoes. The McLovin was simple (Morning Star sausage patty, organic tofu, vegan provolone cheese, and vegan butter on an English muffin), but satisfying. The potatoes were flavorful even without sauce.

Pros: all vegan, quick service

Cons: difficult to find parking, no restroom, disposable dishes

We came here 3 times in 1 week

Our hotel is luckily nearly on top of this amazing establishment. The breakfast burritos were so fantastic that we had them every morning for the rest of the week that we discovered them. $1 black coffee is really good for the price. The coffee ‘n cacao smoothie was quite tasty. The Kalo cinnamon bun was also good

Great Variety

Tons of different options to choose from everyday and centrally located. If you live in the area you can sign up for discounts and usually receive multiple in a week. I really enjoyed the Dal and their cinnamon rolls are a MUST!

Delicious breakfast burrito

Loved the breakfast burrito, the cheese sauce was the best part. Normally I don't love rice in burritos but this rice had a nice sushi rice texture. Burritos were premade for easy grab and go, otherwise would have subbed in some potatoes that looked extra tasty.

Pros: Breakfast burrito, Quick grab and go

Cons: No lattes

Delicious food

The food was delicious! We got the Pono chili and the fried burrito. We went back the next day for their breakfast but unfortunately, despite their listed hours online and on their doors, they were closed. Covid has messed things up so make sure to call to confirm places are open!

Pros: Lots of options, Outdoor seating nearby

Cons: No indoor seating due to covid, Uber drive from Waikiki

Great vegan breakfast

Some of the best breakfast food you'll find on the island. Great menu and spectacular flavors. Be warned the serving sizes are large, a burrito or taco is easily enough to start your day off right.

The staff is very friendly and helpful so feel free to ask questions and see if they have any specials.

The dine-in area was closed in Oct due to COVID measures but when it opens back up they have a good amount of seating space.

Note, follow the walking instructions from Google maps, the address applys to the entire block and you can spend a lot of time walking around trying to find it.

Pros: Unique take on breakfast food

Cons: Can be tricky to find

Umeke Market

Why didn't I try this place years ago??? Don't be like me by waiting so long to try this place, Umeke is definitely a must for that local "plate lunch" experience...vegan style.

I ordered the 4 options 1 side vegan plate and I sure didn't know what I was in for. This was a HUGE value for the price. I probably could have ordered a smaller plate but it was nice to try a variety of things. Everything was delicious except the thing I've added "-" to below:

+ Pono Chilli
+ Kalo Coconut Curry
+ Jackfruit and Cabbage
- Ulu Spinach Dal

Home Cook Comfort Vegan Food

This spot has everything you would cook at home in your very own vegan kitchen. Home cook dishes such as red beans and chili with vegan sour cream, delicious how cook cinnamon rolls and so much more. This is a great spot with indoor and outdoor dinning. I enjoyed the food so much that I will return before ending my trip. Sorry my pics aren’t the best, I started eating and realized I needed pics. Food was so good I had to eat first b4 taking photos

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!

This restaurant has to be the best restaurant we went to during my trip to honolulu, it was very clean, the staff was very polite. The breakfast burrito!!! OMG!!! I had a lot of vegan burritos in my life but this one has to the best!!! And their cacao coffee smoothie was the greatest coffee drink I ever had in my life!! 10/10!!! Would highly recommend the only downside it's a little bit hard to find because of the location it's in but it's all good everything else makes up for it!!

Pros: EVERYTHING IS VEGAN, Very clean, Polite and friendly staff

Cons: Difficult to find if it's your first time

Nice place in downtown, but basic choices and plastic cups

My salad with walnut meat was way too spicy.
Smoothies are served in plastic cups. They say it is a compostible plastic, but everything is compostible, even plutonium, in several thousand years, so I didn't risk. And after this plastic is composted, what happens to the particles of plastic in it? They break down and enter our air, ocean, food chain.
Nice place in downtown. But only one salad base, and generally, comparing to some another small buffet style vegan places, choices not so much enticing.
They sell plastic water bottles.

Pros: downtown, nice conditioned place.

Cons: very basic choices , no options for plastic-free drinking cups
