Closest station is Hase. Menu is mostly vegan apart from a couple of fish dishes. Offers vegan set lunches and other foods with hemp seeds incorporated. Ask for the English menu. A small shop inside sells crafts and handmade soaps. Open until midnight as a bar, but food service stops earlier. Open Tue-Sun 10:00am-12:00am. Closed Mon.

The burger was amazing!!! - Edit
After a week in Japan I had really struggled to find good vegan options. When I came to Kamakura this was one of the only vegan restaurants showing as open on a Wednesday so I thought I’d give it a go. Best decision!!! The vegan pancake burger was amazing. I’ve never had anything like it. I would HIGHLY recommend.

Amazing vegan burger! - Edit
This was one of the best burgers I have ever had. As buns they use hemp pancakes that they make from scratch right by the bar. The whole burger was really big, and the pancakes, the patty, the sauce, the vegetables - everything was so delicious! I had to pick off the onions that I forgot to tell them not to put, and even that didn’t ruin my experience. Sooo good!

So good! - Edit
We went there on our first day in Kamakura and it was so good we had to return again the next day before catching the train back to Tokyo. We didn't try the sweets but they had a few selections. Hemp cakes, hemp ice cream, brownies etc.

A gem across from the beach - Edit
Cool little beach bar that has a simple menu with items that seem to be made from scratch by the owner/operator (who can also speak English quite well). We had the teriyaki veg burger which not only tasted amazing but was also generously portioned for ¥1000. Of course, beer, etc., great coffee and dessert are also available. Food service stops around 4 or 5pm but continues as a bar until midnight. A great option in Kamakura!

very nice staff and good food - Edit
Lovely restaurant with a view on the sea. The ambiance was really cosy, and we enjoyed discussing with staff and poeple there. We went with a 7months old baby, and the staff has been great with him, giving him small baby/child games, and proposing us different adapted services (changing table/ baby chair) which is common in Japan but always appreciated. We didn't wait for the food, service was really fast and we enjoyed the diversity of taste in the meals we ordered. Portions were normal for Japan (not really big). I did not like the sweets, but my husband found them great, even if a bit small. Price were not exaggerated. I would have definitely come back and enjoy the place and food there, if I had stayed longer in the area. As far as I understood, they also regularly organize concerts on evening, which can be interesting.

so yummy! - Edit
This restaurant is on the second floor with a view overlooking Kamakura beach. The ambience was great and the food was super tasty! My kids loved it too. The only downside was that we waited 30 min for our food. Not unusual for Japan and certainly worth the wait but long for two young children. The vegan dishes were clearly marked on the English menu and confirmed by the waiter. Will definitely be back!

The potato chips with soy cheese sauce was such a bomb! I recommend anyone to get some as a side dish. The staff is really nice and understands what vegan means. However they don't seem to have anything to use to dry your hands in the toilets??

delicious dinner by the sea - Edit
This tucked-away gem wrapped up a lovely day exploring Kamakura. With ocean views from every table in the cozy restaurant, the ambience alone is worth checking out, but the food tops off the experience. I had a fantastic curry bowl topped with the best tempeh I've ever had. The owners are super sweet too. Highly recommended!

Chill vibes and vegan food in front of the beach? Yes please! This restaurant is a place you can relax with some healthy handmade food. I enjoyed the space a lot, the decoration is very personal (by the owner) and the chill vibes make it unique and different to the so frequent chain restaurants in Japan. The shop where they sell things was also interesting to see, as well as the hemp products! I’ve never been in a place so focused on the benefits of hemp. The lunch menu was not impressive but good, I enjoyed! I ordered the vege plate and have to say the tempeh was soft and delicious. My partner got the fish version and didn’t like it so much since “nothing was special about it”. The best part was the dessert. Sometimes, I find that vegan cakes can taste dry, but these ones (chocolate tofu brownie and hummingbird cake) were moist and rich in flavour. Probably the best vegan cakes I’ve eaten to the day!

Would give 5 stars but the app doesn’t allow me as it’s not a fully vegan restaurant. Loved the place and the staff, so kind and funny! I has the veg curry with tempeh (YUM!) and a side of fried potatoes with soy cheese. I really enjoyed!

Beautiful view, Delicious food - Edit
A shop on the second floor with a beautiful ocean view. Come here for lunch after seeing the Kamakura Daibutsu. There was only the plate available for lunch vegan options when we went, but it was an impressive spread with salad, pickles, rice, seaweed, turnips, potatoes and wheat gluten fried mock meat. You can also order without the mock meat "main" for 300 yen off (maybe if you have a gluten allergy), or get extra for 300 yen more. Would give 5 stars If there were more options and 100% vegan...

Had the curry with tempeh here tonight and it was amazing. Great location with an ocean view, the place was very cozy and nice. The owner was very helpful and spoke English. He assisted me in finding a vegan option on the menu (however, most of the menu was vegan). The food was reasonably priced and freshly prepared! :)

Saw this on happy cow - went just after arriving in town as it was closest to hostel. I had the veggie set menu and my friend had dish of the day. The staff were super helpful straight away asking about dietary preferences and taking me through the menu line by line. Food was completely delicious and the view was great. Hemp beer also very yummy!

About 30 minutes by Enoden from Enoshima, so it's convenient for both the Kamakura and Enoshima areas. It has a great view of the beach, and the veggie plate comes with soup and is really good. The price is standard for this kind of restaurant.

Hope you like hemp - Edit
Seafront Hemp cafe in Kamakura, a short walk from Hase train station. It serves fish, but is otherwise vegan. It's very clear which dishes contain fish. Everything has hemp involved somehow. I had a plate with breaded tofu, and the usual selection of rice, pickles and vegetables, miso soup, plus a hemp coffee (tasted like normal coffee). They had a few interesting desserts, but I was full from the plate and short on time. The food was tasty, people were friendly, and the sea view is excellent.

Lovely, chilled seaside restaurant. - Edit
Although the restaurant serves non-vegan dishes there is an English menu so it's very easy to see what is vegan and what isn't. All of their desserts are vegan as a bonus, also.
Read moreTwo out of the three members of staff spoke English well. The food came out after about 20 minutes and it was all delicious. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and although you aren't going to leave with a bursting stomach, you are going to have enjoyed a decent sized meal and you can just buy some onigiri down the road if you wish!
The desserts were really delicious- we tried the chocolate gelato (which although wasn't super chocolatey was really tasty) and the hemp cream pudding which reminded me of white chocolate! Both desserts were modest in size but satisfied a sweet tooth very well.
I would absolutely recommend this place.
Pros: Wonderful views and atmosphere, English menu/English speaking staff, Friendly staff
