Ich liebe einfach alles am Madre , die Lokation ist der hammer , so ein lebendiger Ort , ich saß direkt an der Theke , konnte zuschauen wie das Essen zubereitet wurde , einfach super. Alle waren mega freundlich , Guacamole wird wenn gewünscht direkt am Tisch zubereitet. Wenn ihr in Amsterdam seid schaut unbedingt vorbei.

Excellent modern mexican food - Edit
Excellent full menu of mexican dishes with a modern twist on them. Really good quality. Having a "chef's" menu where you get a random selection and the "full experience" menu where you get a small amount of most dishes is a great way to try a lot of the items in a restaurant where you have an entire menu and not just 2 dishes to choose from.

The place is beautiful, the service was friendly and the menu looked incredible. But the food itself was average, unfortunately. Considering the price and size of portions, I just don’t think it’s worth it and would rather go to other great vegan places in Amsterdam.

This was my fifth or sixth time at Madre and they knocked it out of the park (again). We shared the Sikil Pak, Wild Mushrooms, Chintextle Green Beans, Artichoke Tacos and Papa al Pastor Tostadas. It was all simply wonderful.

The staff are very helpful, the food is really tasty & it’s interesting. Unfortunately, portion sizes are so small that more dishes than normal are needed to satisfy appetite. This makes it an expensive & elite place to eat.

We ate food with more flavour in small coffee shops scattered through the area (and no, it wasn’t because they had anything funky in the food there), the presentation of the food is so beautiful but just really falls short on flavour. The biggest standout was in fact, not the tacos - but the side of pumpkin dip with tortilla chip. Had a great kick to it and tons of delicious pumpkin flavour.
They’re working with some great ingredients there, but I really feel a lot of care for the food can get lost trying to serve so many customers at the same time in such a large seated venue.

At first we felt a little bit misplaced as we saw a huge restaurant and fully crowned (not usual in a vegan restaurant, a shame) and then we saw that there was no sign anywhere on the menu that explicitly said 'vegan'.

The food is really good here yet a little bit expensive (at least for us). Also we found the beverage quite strong.

I ordered a full Madre experience and was totally blown away - the soury green beans, salad with a sweet cream, the artichoke tacos were all surprisingly well composed (I don't like artichoke) and made for a great cross-section through the cuisine offered by Madre. All this was crowned with the dessert that was seeping out with flavors and scents of fresh fruits and delicious cinnamon cake.

Madre was a highlight of my last visit to Amsterdam. I can't say enough good things about everything I tried. Each dish was well prepared and had a special twist to keep things interesting, from the Asian-Mexican green beans to the juicy quesatacos. The restaurant itself has an energetic and friendly atmosphere that makes the experience feel a little special without being fussy. I'll be back.

The food is good but not exceptionally so. Fusion kitchen with diverse ingredients, but the staff or general management isn't all that great we had to wait for a long time between ordering. This was by far the most expensive dinner (60 eur per person for three shared entrees, one main and a dessert per person).

Really beautiful space with outdoor seating and a warmly lit bar are when you enter. There is a large dining room in back with an open kitchen. We didn’t have reservations so we were seated in the bar. We shared four dishes. The Guacamole was made to order and chips are homemade. The Tomato Apache Tostadas were amazing; such deep flavor! The Chipotle mole Cauliflower was crisp outside and soft inside with the most delicious sauce! The real surprise was the Braised Butter Beans- such a rich broth, we wanted to eat it like soup! I also had the house beer, Madre Mexican Blond that paired well with the food. Just an all around great meal, with wonderful atmosphere and super staff.
