Really nice baos 💜 - Edit
There are 11 baos to choose from, the bean curd cutlet bao was really good! And the donuts are crunchy and fresh (they cook them on the spot), so really recommend a visit!
Read moreIt was a very cute place outside with a roof from sun and rain, although quite small (only 4 tables). The host was super nice and welcomed us really lovely.
Pros: Great baos, Sweet donuts, Great host and cute place

Not bad, but not everything “worked” - Edit
I love bao, and I was super excited to try this place. But even though I loved the r concept, it didn’t quite “work” for me on all levels. There were things I liked and also things I really didn’t.
Read moreTo start, the bao are huge, like hamburger-bun sized. That makes the bao itself not quite the right texture, even though they are well-made. It also made them hard to eat, and you couldn’t get an even ingredient distribution in each bite.
The other problem is that I found everything to be over-sauced. That’s a preference thing but it also made them hard to eat.
The miatake bao was the best one. It had too much filling but once I ate one of the pieces it worked pretty well. I liked the spicy sauce and the mushrooms were well fried. The little bit of lettuce also worked really nicely.
The falafel bao didn’t quite work. The falafel were really soft so it was kind of squishy. The tastes were good though.
The tofu bao was honestly bad. The tofu balls were flavorless and too soft and the sesame sauce wasn’t good either. Definitely skip that one if you go here.
It was a cute place and I liked the concept a lot. I think some of the bao were better than others. It wasn’t an “avoid” but overall it wasn’t a “must do.” If you’re in the area it isn’t a poor choice, but I didn’t feel it was a great one either.

I've tasted many baos in the past, but this one's the best one by far. There are so many options it's hard to decide, and you can't go wrong with any option since all of them are good. I highly recommend it!

The best vegan bao - Edit
My favourite is BBQ hamburg and tofu katsu. This is my favourite vegan place in Osaka. I live in Tokyo but I can travel to Osaka just for this. Absolutely love it.

Great Bao buns - Edit
It's just a small, outdoor area tucked around a corner, but the food and staff are great. I had a burger bao bun with an acai berry smoothie and then had a chocolate donut with complimentary macha tea. All were incredibly tasty. The staff were friendly too. Inexpensive as well.

A real surprise! - Edit
I’m not vegan. Attended with my family(1 vego, 1 vegan). I was blown away by the food. Bao buns light and fluffy, crisp cauliflower tempura, tasty spiced sauce. Friendly staff, English OK. One of our best vegan meals over a 6 week trip in Japan.

It was 3 pm and I hadn’t eaten since 9.30pm last night so I was a little hungry. What’s not to love about sugar and crunch in a matcha donut? The Bao was filling and there are condiments to spice up and down. Staff are very accommodating for all the changes almost every customer made.

✨ A M A Z I N G ✨ - Edit
Everything is made fresh to order and it shows. The bao was perfectly steamed and the mushrooms were crispy AF. The fries were the best we’ve had in a LONG time. They are actually wedges and come with 4 sauces (mayo/ketchup/sriracha/mustard). Organic lemonade is definitely fresh made and served with ice. Beer was cold and well priced. When we finished they came to the table AND MADE US TRADITIONAL GREEN TEA. He also encouraged us to have a go making the tea with the whisk. Best service in Osaka.
