Vegetarian cat cafe that rehomes rescue cats and allows customers to play with them. Offers some vegan comfort food including sandwiches, salads, and breakfasts. Drinks include oat milk lattes, smoothies, kombucha, bubble tea, and more.Offers a variety of souvenirs that are crafted by local women and for each item sold, donates a meal to a cat in need.
As an ethical cat cafe, the welfare of the cats is most important. The cats can always choose if they want to be in the cafe or not and there is no guarantee that there will be cats in the cafe during peak hours. Not child friendly. Open Tue-Sun 8:00am-4:00pm.

Wonderful Cafe with great ethos - Edit
Had the most tasty chocolate, banana and peanut butter pancakes (85k) here. The ethos is amazing, cats are free to roam and the owner has a clear love of animals and the Loas culture. A must visit in Luang Prabang for vegans and animal lovers.

Wonderful place to hang out in Lianh Prabang - Edit
Wonderful relaxed place to chat, hang out or just unwind from the hussle and bussle. Really kind and attentive staff, great vegan options. Super tasty food and I recommend the oat milk mixed fruit smoothie. I had to skip pancakes for dessert as I’d order two mains.

Un sitio genial! - Edit
Fui 2 veces aquí. Un día para trabajar y otro para desayunar, ambiente chulo y los michines te acompañan si les apetece. La comida está realmente buena, el tofu scrambled y los pancakes veganos.. uf!

Lovey pancakes, friendly staff - Edit
Super friendly staff, all the pancakes can be veganised which was very exciting! The banana, peanut butter and chocolate pancakes were unreal. The scrambled tofu baguette was also delicious. There are fewer cats around at the mo as the cafe is having to relocate, but 100% recommend visiting this lovely cafe!

Ok - Edit
I only had coffee which was just ok. The place was nice and calm. I didn’t have chance to try food as it was closed the day I planned to go, but I saw menu to be expensive.

Dear Malvina, thank you so much for taking the time to write this lukewarm review about us.
Read moreYou are our first review that's lower than 5 stars and since we really care about what we do, we tried to understand why we disappointed so much that you took time out of your holiday to tell others that our coffee is 'ok'. We serve Saffron coffee by the way, which you thought was tasty when you had it there according to your review there.
Anyway, it doesn't matter, we can't always please everyone. Since you specifically mentioned us being closed (and since indicated that your 'meh' review is based on the fact that you didn't get to try our food, we would like to explain why:
In Luangprabang there is no quality veterinary care whatsoever. So the day you found us closed, and believe us, we're really sorry about that, we were driving 9 hours through the mountains back from the veterinary hospital with our anxious dog. We didn't have enough staff to keep the café open, again, really sorry about that, but since you mentioned it, we wanted to explain the reason why.
That was it I guess. We are really sorry we didn't live up to your standards. We will try to do better. Also, we have a menu published online and one outside of the café. Expensive if a subjective concept.
For anyone who's curious about our 'ok' coffee: the arabica beans we use are locally grown in the North of Laos. Farmers get a good price for their organically grown, wildlife friendly beans. This means they don't cut the forest for monoculture plantations, but rather grow the coffee mixed with other trees and shrubs, so that a large variety of wildlife species can still survive on the plantations. Come and try it, it's actually delicious 😋

Dear Cat Cafe. Thank you for answer and complex explanation. Probably my review would be better if it wasn’t close without any information and give a chance for more experience. Regarding your worries about my vacation (btw it’s not my case) please be aware that reviews on Happy Caw or elsewhere are not against businesses but to help other people in their choice. And yes I will spend time to contribute to HC as I use someones else time on giving information. Believe me someone on holidays won’t even read the review. Someone who wants to choose wisely (for example must keep budget in long term travels and want to spend it reasonably) can use it and have more information before decision. It is not said he won’t choose a place with few neutral reviews. Depends what is more important for them. I do mention price since I went to few places totally not worth it but someone else prefer to support cats or have AC and thats what he will be looking for. Someone who eats out 1000x a year may want to reduce it and someone else may want to choose the most expensive option as they feel safer. It is not an attack on a business but just description of own subjective experience.

Hi, yeah I'm sorry about my emotional reaction to your review. We've only been open for 2 years and it's been quite a struggle. On top of that we have just heard that we need to leave this house. The rent prices people ask in this town are out of this world and they often want 2 years rent in advance.
Read moreWe have worked so hard for this to create a place to support cats and make a nice place for vegans, I just got so sad when I read your review. But I should just have said thanks and move on.
I'm sorry about the closing. We had a paper sign on the door and put it on social media and Google maps as closed. I'm sorry I forgot to put it on Happy Cow, I was quite stressed about my dog.
Anyway you're right, thanks for reviewing places, I read them too. I guess it just hurts when it's about your own place.

Doear Friedflower,
Read moreI feel sorry for that. I hope you can resolve all the problems and next time I am in Luang Praban I can visit again as I always choose proper vegan place over those serving meat. I didn’t mention in my comment that it was closed without information, just that it was closed (which might be the usual day you’re off). I only check google maps for opening hours but I don’t trust it 100% in Asia. Thats right I was there on that day and I knew opening time from the plate on the door and I tried few times during the day. Small note on the door would be really helpfull indeed, but that was my thought that something unexpected had happened.
Anyway I hope everything gets back on track and I wish you all the best.

Super sweet and friendly staff, cats are clearly well cared for and free to come and go as they choose. The menu was abundant and full of incredible options! To drink I had an oat milk latte, and to eat I had the 'breakfast of champions' with soy milk, and it was really good and felt v healthy also 💜

Mind blowing - Edit
Small cafe in the old town part of Luang Prabang. Cats roam freely and interact with dinners. The place is immaculate, clean and has a pleasant calming atmosphere. Some dishes have dairy and eggs, most are vegan. Vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. I had their signature tofu peanut butter panini - best sandwich I had in my life! Will definitely come back to try more of their offerings ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #Veganuary

Heaven for vegans - Edit
Best restaurant in town, I went 5 times during my short week here. You have a lot of choices, more than 80% of the menu is vegan/can be veganized so it’s not just a few options😉The place is pretty, the staff and Maddie one of the owners are lovely, the cats and Sparkles the dog are cute and the food/drinks are delicious. I tried many different sandwiches, the pad thai, and of course the pancakes that can be made vegan just ask for it when you order, everything was very good and tasty. Plus you can buy some souvenirs to help feed the cats. Definitely recommended.
