Vegan Adventures Abroad - Sofia, Bulgaria - Edit
TLDR: As a vegan or vegetarian who enjoys vegan food that finds yourself in Sofia Bulgaria, The Loving Hut is an essential stop during your journey. Everything, and I do mean everything about this place was wonderful. The service, the smiles and of course, the delicious food.
Read moreFor everyone else:
Having never been to Bulgaria, my wife and I were unsure of how many vegan options would be available during our week stay in Sofia. We checked the normal internet resources and the Loving Hut was listed as well as appearing in a vegan travel blog so of course we made sure to check it out. The Loving Hut exceeded all of our expectations! Our first visit we actually went in a little after closing, however the gentleman working was overly gracious and accommodating, recommending options and allowing us to dine in. Our next visit, he recommended we wait for the soup of the day which was a warm and delightful treat for such a cold December day.
Everything here is scratch made, vegan and wonderful. The quick bites and quiches, the vegan deserts and the soups of the day were all delicious. In addition to and actually even exceeding the food were the people. Their warm attitude, friendly conversation and passion for their recipes shines.
I whole heartedly recommend The Loving Hut whether you're vegan or just want to support wonderful people while in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Thank you Loving Hut for feeding us on our adventure!

Pros: The vegan Quiche Loren!, The vegan Snicker!, The soup of the day!

welcoming, delicious, convenient - Edit
this place has the tastiest sweets imo, i most love their tofu chocolate pudding, they have savoury dishes too, and they also sell yogurt, cheese and milk from nuts or soy. the staff is very sweet! and they also work with the app Foodobox, the bulgarian equivalent to toogoodtogo, and you can pick up a tasty surprise after work

A mixed experience - Edit
Loving Huts are a bit of a hit and miss to me and so was this one. I ordered a quiche with vegan cheese which was nearly cold. I really hate food that is supposed to be hot but has gone cold, so this was barely edible for me. To fill up, I then had two small pieces of dessert, these were better, although a bit too solid.
Read moreI must add that the staff were very welcoming and I liked the down to earth vibe of this place.
Pros: Many options, 100% vegan, Friendly service, Great location
Cons: Food had gone cold

A must visit place in sofia - Edit
I came to loving hut with my caranist husband and was a little afraid that he won't like the dishes. As soon as we entered the cozy shop We were greeted with a wide smile by the amazing owner.
Read moreI immediately know what I wanted because the display looked so inviting and as foodie I have a sense of what the food should taste like judging by the appearance.
We ordered the chicken wrap, meat pizza and the meat quiche.
As soon as we started eating, our taste buds explode with luxurious flavors and we enjoyed every bite!
I'm not ashamed to admit that I moaned a little while I ate😆
For dessert we ordered the amazing tiramisu and strawberry milk ice cream.
We talked to the owner about food activism and how we appreciate small vegan businesses in this capitalistic world while I bought a few vegan cheeses and homemade sausage.
Pros: Amazing food, Excellent service and experience, Affordable prices
Cons: None!

Worth a visit - Edit
The reviews don't lie. Like any Loving Hut, this one is all vegan and they make everything themselves.
Read moreThey have a nice selection of savoury as well as sweet things.
The food was absolutely delicious and very, very filling.
The Tarator was simply incredible and I would totally recommend it to anyone looking for something traditionally Bulgarian.
Staff were super nice too and you can see that they love what they are doing.
Since the place is tiny, I would suggest to have your food to go and enjoy one of the nearby parks.
Pros: Delicious food, Reasonable prices, Great staff
Cons: Food was a little bit greasy (but that's just me)

All home made - Edit
All vegan little hole in the wall place with additional seating at the back and quite a few choices. Reasonably priced and all is made on site and fresh. The vegan quiche and wraps can be recommended. Has toilets and you can pay by card. Has a fridge too for buying cheeses and seitan etc. Bit of a lack of hot food options but everything can be warmed up for you and they do soup during the week.

Good food and friendly staff - Edit
There are smoothies, decadent desserts and healthy meals. I also bought a couple of packaged, vegan wafer bars. I enjoyed the diced-vegetable mixture and pesto pasta salad, paid by weight, and I took away a slice of tiramisu square, which was delicious. Next time, lasagne (creamy cheesy, crumbled smoked tofu), and the Snickers slice was good and gooey. Took away their traditional Bulgarian cold cucumber soup called tarator (but veganized, made with cashew milk, dill, walnuts), and it was delicious! Later, I had a vegetable pizza (included olives, broccoli, vegan cheese), quiche and a granola cookie. All good, and the prices are inexpensive. Besides stools at the streetside bar, there are tables in the back.Friendly staff.

Friendly and tasty - Edit
Nice little loving hut with pre-made foods to chose from. You pay by weight, and it felt a little expensive for what it was, although it was tasty. They also sell soy milk, but again, found it cheaper in a supermarket later. Really friendly and smiley man works here.

A pitstop for hungry vegans. - Edit
The location is in the centre, where vegan tourists can easily get a variety of foods and drinks to eat. They offer cakes as well, which is nice. You can sit in or eat out. The food is cheap (compared to a typical vegan street food restaurant) and the portion sizes are not that small.

Every city needs a Loving Hut - Edit
I'm so glad Loving Hut is spreading and setting up shop in many major cities. When you're a vegan travelling abroad, finding dinner can be a real challenge (as I learned the hard way in Nessebar), so it's great to have a reliable dining spot no matter where you are. This Loving Hut's menu differs quite a bit from the one I tried in the US - expect regional dishes like vegan tarator, sausage, and mushroom quiches in lieu of burgers and sweet and sour chick'n. But everything we tried was super delicious (and dirt cheap). Next time I land in Sofia, Loving Hut will be my first stop.
