Vegan restaurant est. April 2024, serving Hawaiian-Japanese dishes. Specialties include 4 different types of Japanese vegan-fried chicken (karaage), assorted appetizer plates, and bowls. Located in previous location of the well-known Nagi Shokudo, 10 mins walk from Shibuya in a calm environment. Some of the staff from Nagi Shokudo work in the kitchen. Recipes and sauces are from the award-winning Japanese-Hawaiian “Peace Cafe”, with support from their chef. Food is sugar-free, mostly organic, and locally-sourced. Serves vegan-friendly beer and wine. Access route is easiest from the Sakura Stage building in Shibuya. Open Mon-Tue 11:30am-3:00pm, 6:00pm-10:00pm, Thu-Sun 11:30am-3:00pm, Thu-Sat 6:00pm-10:00pm.

Amazing food and staff! - Edit
I really enjoyed my Korean dish Bibimbap with a glass of vegan sparkling wine and the carrot cake for desert. The restaurant itself is really pretty and had great music. The staff were all lovely and helpful. As we were leaving the waitress came outside to ask if we needed help with directions! Don't give this place a miss. ❤️

Bland and disappointing - Edit
This is my first bad review on Happy Cow, and I feel bad because I want to support all the vegan places, but this was such a disappointing experience - especially after seeing all the rave reviews on here. There was a special event going on, which meant that the regular menu was unavailable. Instead, we could choose a "half" ramen and a "half" rice dish with one drink. We chose the nutmeg soy sauce ramen, the gyudon, and the homemade ginger ale. The gyudon was tasty, but the ramen was drowned in nutmeg to the point that you could barely taste anything else, and the little you could taste was extremely bland. Unfortunately, the ginger ale was also heavily flavored with nutmeg, and that made for a terrible nutmeg-infused combination. Maybe we were just unlucky because of the special event menu, but this is not a place we'd ever go back to. The staff was really sweet though.

Outstanding Karage and Curry! - Edit
We absolutely loved lotus Cafe and it's quaint, jazzy atmosphere. Planted on the corner of an unassuming suburban Street in Shibuya, this restaurant delivers spectacular vegan karage which you can order with authentic Japanese Curry and an assortment of lovely sides, from pickled veggies to a delicious tofu dipping sauce. The previous restaurant he was vegan too, so fans of the old restaurant will still love this place as it pays something of an homage to its predecessor. Wonderful service from people who are passionate about vegan cuisine.

Wonderful oasis of good vegan food in Tokyo. - Edit
I had been struggling to find good vegan food in Tokyo and was becoming a little down about this and so looked on this app and found this place. Myself and my wife had a wonderful evening with a three course dinner knowing that we could eat everything on the menu. The food is glorious, varied and the helpings are good. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I could safely recommend anything on the menu in the knowledge that it is of high quality and the cakes are worth leaving space for.

After walking into 20 restaurants in the Shibuya area and leaving each one 2 minutes later, I was so happy to finally find vegan food in Japan. And not just any food, this was top quality, super delicious food.
Read moreThe place is hard to find. It is far from the busy area. We spent 5 minutes in front of it trying to realise where it was. It is between an Italian restaurant and an intersection, half underground. You can hardly see the sign.
It is a tiny, cozy restaurant and we were the only clients. There were few dishes on the menu, but each dish had many ingredients, each ingredients was a delicious unexpected surprise.

Perfect Japanease Style Vegan Food ! - Edit
This restaurant is dedicated to being 100% vegan. Their soy meat Karaage is a signature dish, available in various flavors. Their organic vegetable deli is also recommended. They also offer a variety of Asian-style dishes like Hanoi sandwich with, deep fried thick tofu , curry and Bibimbap. Each dish has a gentle Japanese flavor.

Fresh and delicious food in Shibuya - Edit
The restaurant is located in a quieter side district of Shibuya. We were there in the evening and had no problems getting a seat. The entire menu is vegan. Compared to many other restaurants during our trip, there were a lot of vegetables and very tasty salads on offer. The food was very good. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff very friendly.

If you're looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Tokyo, I recommend this place. - Edit
The restaurant had a calming atmosphere, attentive service, an extensive menu, and the food was both beautiful and delicious. I had always imagined vegetarian menus as either bland or too peculiar, but the seasoning was so satisfying that I wouldn't have known it was vegetarian unless told. I think even non-vegetarians would feel satisfied. There were many other dishes I didn't get to try that I'm curious about, so I definitely want to go back and eat there again. I'm not very good at English, so I apologize if my expression is off.
