Wonderful vegan tasting menu - Edit
This is a cool looking restaurant with a nice ambiance in Quebec old town. The menu is all seasonal local ingredients. I had six course vegan tasting menu which was exceptional. All dishes tasted great and must have taken a lot of time and patience to make. The mushroom dumpling broth was to die for. $99 for 6 courses was a steal

We we t last summer and it was so good. It’s expensive but worth the price, it truly is an experience. They also improvised me a cocktail based on my taste preferences and it was perfect. We will go back for sure.

Great food but plan to be there a LONG time - Edit
I came here for a work dinner as part of a party of 19. We did the 6 course tasting menu paired with wine. I had the vegan version and my colleagues did the meat. the food was absolutely amazing and beautifully presented, but the dinner took 5.5 hours! I am not kidding! Our reservation was at 6:30 and we didn’t leave until almost midnight. There was a good 45 minutes between every course. It took waaaaaay too long. We almost skipped out on dessert- everyone was complaining and wanting to get out of there! It’s too bad as it took an excellent meal and turned it into an excruciating experience.

We had the vegan tasting menu for dinner late August 2023. The food is to die for here. The atmosphere is gorgeous. The bathrooms are beautiful and pristinely clean. One of the best food experiences we have had in many years of vegan travel worldwide.

Had the 6-course tasting with nonalcoholic pairing and it was even better than I had heard. So much creativity, delicious flavors, and beautiful presentation. I was particularly blown away by the melon dessert, which was an absolute work of art (so hard to get beautiful vegan patisserie!)

Great service. Called ahead to see if we could get a table within the hour and no problem. Start to finish the service was impeccably. Well paced. We also did the mock tail and prestige drink pairings. Knowledgeable staff excellent food, high end experience, one of the best meals and experiences we have had.

My partner and I went for the "discovery" menu with the alcohol-free pairing. The food was absolutely delicious each course had generous portions. The alcohol free pairing, however was... Interesting, there were two savoury drinks (one was a mushroom broth with non-alcoholic whiskey and the other was a play on a Caesar with zucchini juice and a tomato foam) these two drinks were not good, but the four others were more normal and were very tasty.

We went here for a special occasion with my partner. It was very nice. We took the vegan discovery menu. It was the very first time for both of us to have a 5 service meal. At first, I was a bit worried that I would be hungry by the end because of the size of the portions, but it was very well portioned. By the end of the dinner, I was full and couldn’t eat anymore. It was the fall menu. We loved it!

This was the most expensive and the best vegan meal I have had in my 40 years of eating vegan. We had the blind 5 course vegan menu (which was really 6 courses after the complimentary amuse bouche) From seating to leaving was a little over two hours. OMG. So good. And, yes, expensive. That did not seem to deter the full house. A worthy special occasion spot for sure. Only sorry we didn’t take photos….

The food here was wonderful! I got a five course tasting menu. They allowed me to add alcohol to the mocktail pairing (for a fee, naturally). The food and cocktails were very creative, making use of lesser known local plants. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

This restaurant is mostly not veg friendly. However the vegan dish I had was no afterthought. It was a gourmet seitan and squash "Wellington". My non-vegan husband and I agreed it was excellent. A good place to go if you're the only vegan or vegetarian in the group.

Although it’s not a vegan restaurant, it’s very accommodating and the food is delicious. We went on a Sunday during their special brunch menu. There are two vegan dishes, a vegan smoothie, and a vegan dessert. Everyone’s meal came with a little taste beforehand and they brought us a vegan one. We sat outside on the back deck- highly recommend this place!

From farm to table: an organic culinary experience - Edit
I visited l’Orygine for brunch on Father’s Day, and even for a busy day the service was excellent. All FOH was welcoming and informative. The interior decor and patio are equally stunning, with many zero-waste touches in their presentation. The menu itself is all locally sourced (even down to their cocktails) with both meat and plant based options (I believe there is always at least one fish, meat, veg, and vegan option). There is also a « discovery » option in which all members of the party are served four dishes created by the chef with the daily ingredients (this can be veganized). Some of the plates can even be made GF as well. As an added touch, the fathers eating out that day were offered a free cocktail, and all members of our party were given an « amuse-bouche» catered to our dietary preferences. The food itself was bursting with flavor, and the portions were perfect. The prices were also very reasonable for such a high quality dining experience. Will definitely be returning to try out the summer menu!
