Delicious food, friendly service! - Edit
I feel so lucky that my family live in Canning Vale, so when I visit them, I can go to LB whenever I want. This time around, we had vegan dim sum on the Sunday, which was really filling and delicious. The pandan pancakes for dessert were a great treat too. And then, I had my favourite pre-vegan meal - Hainan “Chik’n” Rics - on the Wednesday. Amazing! It was all really delicious. To top it off, the service is really lovely, helpful and friendly. 10/10 recommend this place for everyone.

Thank you, for all the previous reviews on this restaurant, we came from NSW for a holiday to Perth and it sounded awesome, we didn't want to miss out on this gem, it totally didn't disappoint ... and was worth the taxi fare out there, wish we lived closer.
Would highly recommend any food lover, Vegan or not to try this restaurant.
Pros: Every dish was yummy, so lovely to meet Amanda, a passionate Vegan, loved sitting outside, atmosphere very welcoming
Cons: would have loved the restaurant to be closer, , however well worth the trip

Little Beans Gourmet is my go-to spot for some of the best laksa, nasi lemak rendang and other Malay-fusion vegan dishes. The food has the warmth of home cooked food, and flavours are unmatched! 10/10 recommend this spot!

Great Chick'n Skewers - Edit
I have been quite a few times to Little Beans now and it's a great place for a casual meal. The satay chick'n skewers were fantastic, and I really enjoyed the Nasi Lemak Rendang. The KFC chick'n served in a bun is really good (not available all the time). Friendly family run restaurant.

Not to be missed - Edit
Canning Vale is a bit out of the way for me... but it was TOTALLY worth the trip, and a must-return-soon situation!
Read moreFood selection is excellent, friendly staff and yummy dishes. Lots of 'veganised' dishes with mock meat that would fool anyone. Easy to bring your non-vegan friends to for a delicious meal.

One of the top vegan eats in Perth - Edit
I’ve been to LBG several times over the last few months, driving 40 mins each way. Most recently we attended for the vegan kfc weekend (once a year) and it was incredible. Before that I had the clear noodle soup, and before that the katsu curry ramen. Everything is delicious and it always feels good to buy from a small family owned business. I just wish we lived closer!

Amazing Asian style vegan food! - Edit
This was one of the most delicious vegan meals I’ve ever had!! They serve the most amazing Asian style dishes and their menu is HUGE, very reasonably priced, and their selection of mock meats is so impressive - plus they are all made from scratch! 👏🏻
Read morePictured is:
🌱Satay chicken sticks: these are so saucy and succulent, and the chicken is beautifully charred - SO much flavour!
🌱Malaysian Style Laksa (GFO)- a spicy and creamy coconut broth with vegan bbq pork, vegan fish cake, fried bean curd, puffed tofu, bean sprouts and two types of noodles. This is easily the best laksa I’ve had, with the perfect amount of seasoning and heat, so creamy and loaded up with so many delicious ingredients 😍
🌱BBQ Pork Steamed Bun: these are cooked perfectly, such a soft pillowy bun with loads of delicious filling!
🌱Squid rings: served with lemon and aioli. These are exactly how I remember squid rings to be, except they weren’t chewy at all, just delightfully crispy and crunchy.
🌱Heavenly Lychee Mocktail - so refreshing and not overly sweet, with real lychees (and a thoughtfully provided spoon so you can eat them 😄)
Little Beans also have a lot of unique vegan groceries in their cafe, including mock meats, sauces, Faux Sho gourmet cheeses, and they even sell their housemade satay sticks frozen for you to take home!

Nice but a bit confusing - Edit
The food I ordered was very lovely.
Read moreThe reason I say it is confusing is because I thought it was an all vegan restaurant but at the bottom of the menu says something about meat options. I didn't read into it as I ordered the katsu curry which is labelled as vegan. I probably should have spoken to the staff and enquired but I didn't so...
Pros: Majority of the menu is vegan

A regular fave! - Edit
Little Beans is a light bright eatery in the southern suburbs of Perth. Friendly staff and delish South East Asian style food, with one of the best chik'n style satay sticks I've had. Another fave is the Nasi Lemak with Rendang. The weekend menu includes dim sum. Definitely recommend a visit.

One of my favourite restaurants in Perth! - Edit
I've been to Little Bean many times now and every time I dined there, I was never disappointed!
Read moreAs a person from Malaysia, finding a Malaysian restaurant that has a large amount of vegan options can be quite tricky. As soon as I heard that a fully vego Malaysian restaurant was opening up in my local area, I was rather ecstatic. I was definitely not let down when I finally was able to dine there.
So far, looking at the photos I've taken there, I've tried the Penang Curry Mee, the Rice w/ BBQ Mock Meat, the "Chicken" Kaarage Rice Bowl (not Malaysian but still good!), and the Malaysian must-have, Nasi Lemak. All of these dishes were very delicious! I've also had other dishes but I can't remember what I ordered, and I also don't have pictures to help jog my memory, but i remember enjoying every visit to this restaurant
I've also brought my parents here to eat on a few occasions. They're both still omnivores despite my best efforts in converting them to a vegan lifestyle (although they have improved significantly with their meat consumption), and they're extremely picky about Malaysian food as they both spent majority of their lives there. When I brought them here, I honestly was waiting for them to complain about the food not tasting like what they've had back in Malaysia, but both of them really enjoyed their meals! So if they like it, it means that the food there is very good and is almost as good as the food you get in Malaysia.
If you live in the Canning Vale area, or just visiting, this restaurant is a definite must try!

Gourmet indeed! - Edit
Visited here on a Friday night with my non-veg mum. We ordered the salt and pepper fried "chikn" to share. She ordered the katsu chicken curry udon and I ordered the Penang curry noodles (rice noodles).
Read moreThe batter on the fried chikn was excellent. The mock meats themselves were actually pretty convincing. We'd been to Formosa Garden about a week back and found ourselves comparing the two restaurants in terms of mock meats. LBG wins in our opinion.
I really enjoyed the laksa kind of soup that my dish had. It was the right mix of coconutty, spicy, and creamy. Mum found her udon to be flavourful, but very rich. I personally think there are better Japanese vegan curries out there, but this isn't to say that the flavour was bad at all.
I only wish I lived closer to this side of Perth so I could visit LBG more often!
Pros: Most options are vegan by default, Relatively cheap!
Cons: Small sized space and gets busy fast

2nd visit is a let down - Edit
Because our first visit was good and we loved the soya pudding, we went for the second time. However, Went in an extremely peak hour so most of the tables were reserved and so we ordered a take away and told the cashier that we will dine in if there is a spot available to which she agreed. Later there was a table available and so since we were the next longest waiting customer, we sat there. However, another girl said our food is packed and we mentioned we already said we will dine in if and it is agreed. I was decent enough to ask if the table is reserved and she said it’s not but she obviously looked very unhappy and she said the other girl didn’t hear me mentioning I will want to dine in if there is a spot. Anyway, we stay put in the table and had our food in a take away container since it was packed which was ok but our soya pudding which is described as with palm sugar cane (visually looked brown sugar) was in a clear solution. So we said we wanted brown sugar and the girl came back again to say it’s extra 30 cents. But the menu did not indicate extra 30 cents and it stated $4.50 but we were charged $4.80 each. I asked one of the girl to show where it is indicated extra 30cents for brown sugar. She said it’s not displayed but that’s the charge; extra 30cents. It’s not because of the 60 cents extra we had to pay for the 2 take away but what is the regularity in the prices? I feel that we were unfairly charged and if it is it’s ok. But not a pleasant feeling to go there again sadly though the food is really good.

Vegan dim sum!! - Edit
Went here with my Mum, got the vegan dim sum on a Sunday lunchtime. Was really good - the BBQ pork buns were the standout of course :). Also had the prawns (i hate prawns and liked them, my mum loves prawns and hated them), spare ribs (they were really nice), some satay chicken (more spicy than the traditional "western" satay - also very nice), some traditional chinese dumplings (my mum loved them as they were very similar to western dim sum - tasted too seafoody for me!).
Read moreThe crispy salty chicken they serve is the same seitan "crispy chicken" that you get at LOTF / formosa, which I love but I was a bit disappointed because I would have preferred to try something new - but it was still delicious!
Pros: dim sum is 100% vegan no subs needed, tasty food, variety of foods
Cons: location
