Vegetarian buffet in the heart of the Leshan Buddha Scenic Area - Edit
We heard rumours of there being a vegetarian restaurant on the grounds of the Leshan Buddha, and they were true!
Read moreFor 39 RMB you can help yourself to as much food as you like at this temple vegetarian buffet restaurant! It took us a minute to find, because it's in the same restaurant as the fries and burger place. Below the pavilion gift shop / to the left of the Buddha's head as if you were behind it.
It's not all vegan so be sure to ask the server. On the day we visited there was 1 dish with egg, which she clearly highlighted to us. It was all delicious and not overly oily compared to other food we've eaten in China, always a plus! .
Nice mix of vegetables, tofu, bean curd and rice!
Servers were friendly, easy to communicate using google translate.

Simple and the perfect lunch for a visit to Leshan Buddha - Edit
This place is still open!😄So happy to find the veggie buffet is still open from the last review in 2021! It's a simple and tasty veggie buffet with classic Sichuan dishes although not too spicy. The price is 39 each all you can eat. Open 10:30-2pm.
Read moreThe restaurant is on the left side of the Buddha, underneath the Linjiang Pavilion (souvenir shop). The restaurant also has a non-veggie fast food (burgers/noodles) place within the building.
Only one egg dish which was easily identified and confirmed with the staff. It was the tomato and egg dish. Everything eles was vegan on our visit!

Read moreFair amount of choices, quite tasty food, a bit too spicy (like everything in China!) I would like to find some restaurants of this kind more often in China! What a shame you have to pay the entry ticket to the park to access it...
But perfect for vegetarians visiting the Buddha :)
Pros: If not everything, almost everything was vegan., Cheap, Good

Next to the giant buddha - Edit
When you go up to the buddha, just before you go to Buddha‘s ear you turn legt, through or around the temple halls direction east exit - on the large place before the stairs to the Pagoda is on the left side a souvenir shop, on the second floor / going upstairs left of the building is the restaurant

convenient and cheap - Edit
Very convenient if you're on your way out of the Leshan Buddha complex. Only about $4 usd/person. Food was okay.
