Severely over-rated. Bof! - Edit
I was so excited to try Land & Monkeys but I had a pretty lousy experience. My partner and I ordered a lentil salad and a Croque Monsieur to share for lunch. The staff was pretty unfriendly (barking orders, not willing to answer questions) even though it was not crowded - it almost seemed as though they assumed we would create problems. For example, when we ordered our lunch they also wanted to know what pastries we wanted, but we wanted to come back and order those after we had eaten. Even as I tried to explain (first in French, then in English) the server kept repeating, without listening, “What pastry?!”
Read moreThen, the food was bad. I mean bad - so bad we didn’t eat it. The salad was stone cold and tasted odd, like it had been sitting out for a long time. Nothing had any flavor. The croque monsieur was better but not by much. I was at least able to pick out the smoked tofu. But the bread was soft instead of toasted, the sandwich was cold (they tossed it in a microwave for about 10 seconds), the cheese wasn’t melted and everything was just gummy. It was spread with something really unappetizing that can only be described as paste-like.
But we assumed maybe it was just that we ordered the wrong things, so I went back to try a croissant. It was…. Fine but uninspired. Honestly the ones from Whole Foods are better, and those aren’t that great. It was very dry and not very flaky. Just kind of a bummer.
We chatted with someone we met sitting outside for a bit and she was also disappointed with the sandwich she had gotten. Based on all of this, I decided to not bother with a patisserie.
This place could be good. The pastries looked wonderful but then again so did the other things we ordered. But either things are so over-rated and mass-produced that there’s little quality control, or we somehow managed to just pick the only four bad things on a giant menu. I guess it’s possible but I won’t be back to try again considering how unpleasant the experience and service were (nobody even asked why we were dropping off our plates with the food uneaten!). When compared to the amazing experience I had at Zoï in Lyon, and with the many non-vegan places offering a handful of vegan pastries throughout Paris, Land & Monkeys just doesn’t do it.
Sorry to pan a vegan business but I just do not get the hype. What a bummer. C’est nul.

Beautiful 🎀 - Edit
What do vegans eat in Paris? Cake of course. We higly recommend you take your coffee break here. If you need to pick just one treat, try the lemon-marengue tartelette. 👌

What can I say?
Read moreSuperlative vegan bakery, selling bread, patisserie and savoury food.
Four days in Paris and four visits. Sit in and have croissants, pain au chocolat and coffee for breakfast. Choose a sandwich and a cake to take for your lunch. All the food was exquisite and exactly what you want from a French bakery.
The staff are lovely, albeit very busy as there is a constant stream of people coming in.
They let their oven rest one day a week and therefore had no fresh baguettes on Tuesday while we were there, but plenty of other stuff.
Pros: Everything is vegan, Top quality, Friendly

Rude service, no bathroom, dry food - Edit
The staff was rude, no bathroom for paying customers, and the food was dry. They dont heat up the sandwiches or pastries for you. With all the competition for vegan restaurants and patisseries in paris youd think theyd be better. You’re better off elsewhere.

Great food experience - Edit
An all-vegan boulangerie you can have no doubts on! Absolutely recommended. We had a rich sweet breakfast with pain au chocolat and pain aux raisins, soy caffellatte, espresso coffee, as well as a rich cinnamon roll. The cakes in the window seem also fantastic, we’ll definitely come again.

We had a pain au chocolat, a cinnamon roll, and a chickpea salad sandwich, all of which was heavenly delicious! The cappuccino was also very good! I'll definitely come back to try those mouthwatering tartes and the focaccia!

Patisserie from heaven 🧁 - Edit
Sometimes it‘s hard to find anything vegan except for bland bread. Here you find deluxe pastries - all 100% vegan. 🥐🧁🍪 You can taste that there are skilled bakers at work, creating little pieces from heaven: tartelettes with chocolate, meringue, lemon or pecan nuts - they have it all! We went there twice because we couldn‘t get enough. 😍🥖🍞

My favorite bakery in Paris - Edit
I've been there twice already, and I love it. I've tried the pain au chocolat, the chocolate briosche and the kouglof petit. They were all amazing. They are fresh, soft, and just perfectly sweet. The staff is cute, and they offer free lemonade in the bakery.

We were here four times. Twice for coffee and cakes and twice for breakfast. Everything was just really delicious especially the brioche buns became my go to there. Inside is a nice atmosphere although it can get quite busy. We just loved it.

Absolutely must visit! - Edit
I had a broccoli quiche which was the best I’ve had in my life, a tomato/olive focaccia which was soft and delicious, and the classic cappuccino/pain au chocolat combo was also excellent. I love the fact that there’s a fully vegan boulangerie, it’s a great feeling to be spoiled by so many delicious choices.

Boulangerie of my dreams - Edit
Loved this charming boulangerie, which felt like a "normal" boulangerie that just happens to be vegan. Everything I ate there was excellent - croissants, quiches, apple tart, lemon meringue tart. The woman serving was especially lovely.
Read moreThere are a few cons: very little seating, mainly outdoors. Also there doesn't seem to be a toilet.
But the food is so amazing it still deserves 5 stars. Please open a branch (or a few!) in London!

Best vegan pastries literally ever - Edit
All around amazing vegan dream. If there were more of these in every city, no one would have an excuse not to be vegan. Also really well priced which was a pleasant surprise!! Only negative was that i burnt my mouth because i couldn’t wait to bite into the croque monsieur, but that’s my fault. The mille feuille was the definitive highlight.

Vegan bakery in Paris - Edit
So glad to find vegan & organic bakeries around the city. I have tried sandwiches, cakes, viennoiseries, quiches... Everything is good!
Read moreUnfortunately sometimes the sandwiches' bread is a bit dry, probably after sitting for 1 or 2 days behind the counter. Also it would be nice to add some sauce in the baguette sandwiches.
My only other concern is the price. Nevertheless this brand is a real savior for French vegans :)
Pros: All vegan & organic , Tasty & lots of choice, Many locations in Paris
Cons: Expensive, Should add sauce in sandwiches, Please create a customer loyalty system!
