the BEST pizza EVER! - Edit
went here for our last night in berlin and i'm not exaggerating at all when i say the pizza is the tastiest i've ever had and probably will ever have. the waitress was so lovely and offered to do a half and half topping since i couldn't decide between two pizzas! the dough was SO GOOD and both topping halves were delicious. i could've eaten the same pizza all over again when i was done 😋 my mum had one of their pasta dishes which she loved, and tried an experimental parmesan 'cheese' that the restaurant were working on which she said was delicious. then we had the panna cotta, also super yummy! all in all such a good experience for our last night and it will definitely be at the top of our list when we visit again.

Worth the visit! Or, maybe not.... - Edit
Update from previous review: I thought I would update my review since tonight's experience here was so very different from my last visit. Let me begin by saying that the food is still good. However, after tonight's experience I can't say I'll be going back, recommending it to any of my clients and most certainly never take any more of my friends there to represent vegans again. I took a curious non-vegan friend here tonight and could not imagine the embarrassment that lie ahead. We sat at one of 10 tables in total, patiently waiting for an hour to even be approached while several tables on either side of us consisting of guests who arrived well after us were not only served, but repeatedly looked after and when we politely tried to get the waitress's attention we were met with a snide "I will get to you after I take their order" with her back turned to us and pointing to a table of guests that had just arrived 5 minutes ago. After another 20 minutes she came to our table with a cold disposition and avoided looking at us. My friend and I couldn't figure out what we had done wrong, but we refused to stoop to the waitress's level and remained courteous. Ten minutes later the waitress returned because she forgot the 4 items we ordered - still refusing to look at us. Another hour went by and despite the constant ignoring and walking past us, calling to other patrons over our heads to check that they were alright, we remained quiet and patient until a gentlemen brought our food out. As soon as I put down my fork the rude waitress rushed to clear the table, no words and went inside. Twenty minutes later she walked by as we handed money to her, she put a crumpled receipt on the table and walked away to chat with people at another table as we sat there with the money still in our hands. Now we had been sitting there for almost 3 hours as many other patrons had come, been served and had gone. Finally my friend went in to pay and we left.
Read moreReview 2016-11-02: Really nice quaint place with a classy atmosphere. The prices are quite fair for the quality and service. If you have ever tried Neapolitan pizza you will see how the pizza here is beautifully done in the traditional Neapolitan style as are the desserts. The crust of Neapolitan pizza is very particular and this place does it to a perfection! I'm an American who likes more cheese on my pizza; however the quality and taste of this pizza is worth the smaller amount of cheese - no kidding! I highly recommend it!

I love to eat here. They serve perfectly made neapoletanian-style pizza fresh out of the oven. The menu depends on the season and you have more straight vegan than "meat-like"-options. The choice of beer (1312) or wine is very good and also the salads or pasta are delicious. A collective of very friendly people run the place.

A Stellar Experience - Edit
This was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Berlin and I would definitely recommend La Stella Nera to anyone. We booked in advance, as we heard it was very difficult to get a table and you can see why, as it is quite a small restaurant. We decided to order the antipasto misto inverno starter (€10) to share, which was a mixture of olives, mushrooms, smoked tofu, artichoke and tempeh with a delicate dressing. Wow, what a superb starter this dish was and was perfect with a nice glass of vegan red wine. I would highly recommend ordering it. For mains we ordered the salami pizza and radicchio pizza, although due to the time of year, the ingredient radicchio was replaced with mushrooms. Both pizzas were delicious with an excellent pizza base with such fresh, flavorsome toppings and price wise we paid €8-10. Finally, for dessert we ordered a tiramisù and pannacotta with mixed hot berries (both only €3.5). We were particularly excited to try the vegan pannacotta as we have never had it before. You will pleased to know that both desserts were excellent especially the pannacotta and it had the wobble! I also ordered a red oat ale to end what was a fantastic evening.

I really liked the margherita pizza I got here, as well as the tiramisu. The tiramisu wasn't what I was expecting, but still a tasty treat. The pizza was so flavorful and veg cheese was nice and gooey!

My favorite place in Berlin! Love their pizzas - Edit
The best place in Berlin! Their pizzas are so amazing, as well as their Italian desserts (try the affogato al caffè!). We came back twice in a row to discover their other pizzas. They offer a large choice of Roman pizzas and also very good pasta. You can adapt every pizza to your taste. These were among the best pizzas I've ever had, even including non-vegan ones. The staff was super-friendly each times and they offered us a limoncello. That was really appreciated. I'll come back here at first as soon as I came back to Berlin.

One of the best pizzas we ever had (vegan or non vegan) - proper Neapolitan style, i.e. thin base and fluffy crust. We asked for a "White Pizza" but with tomato sauce and there was absolutely no problem.

My husband and I had a pizza each and although we really liked the crust, we were disappointed in the lack of taste for one of them. The other was was nice- nothing spectacular, but nice. We both tried the vegan cheese-free options but I like the fact that each pizza was available with or without vegan cheese.
I also had the tiramisu and that was a real disappointment. Although the creamy part was tasty, it felt too heavy for my liking and the "biscuit" part was some kind of bread- not a great texture for a tiramisu and very little taste.
Yet, I think I would happily go back there to have another pizza, but I would probably choose a different one and stay away from the tiramisu!
They also do take aways.

We arrived without booking to find the restaurant full, but the waitress was SO helpful and said she would hold the next available table for us. We went for a drink in a close by bar and came back an hour later to find a table waiting for us! The place smelt amazing so I was suuppppper happy to have gotten a table.

Service was incredible, even though obviously very busy!
Definitely recommend booking because it'd suck to miss out.

We had our Christmas eve dinner at La Stella Nera, we had antipasti, pizza and dessert (tiramisu and chestnut vermicelli). I can't describe how amazing were the pizzas! The crust is really like in Naples (my mum is from there), light, tender and crispy, just perfect! The vegan cheese is melting like heaven. Every ingredient was tasty and high quality. Also the best vegan tiramisu i've eaten! The staff is a group of passionate vegan guys, there are thoughtful and helpful, they make this place special. Thank you, we will go back to try the homemade pastas!! Oh and it is cheap so everybody can afford it (pizza around 10 € or below and dessert 3,5€!!)

Read moreVery nice presented food. I had Smoked Tofu caprese and pizza rosso verdure, tiramisu and cappuccino as dessert. Starter and main were divine, the tiramisu rather watery and tasteless. The coffee very nice and strong.
A lot of choice; pizza with and without tomato sauce (pizza bianca and pizza rosso) and with and without vegan cheese. A few pasta dishes are also on the menu.
Have to come again and try another pizza and pasta.
Very attentive service!
