Best place for vegan taco Tuesday! - Edit
Absolutely the best vegan Mexican food I’ve ever had! Hands down! And the beautiful colors throughout every item on the menu makes it fun to eat! Not only are the ingredients delicious and allergen friendly, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming! Would highly recommend going here! And go hungry! Eat everything!

Cute place with exotic fusion kitchen (3.5 stars) - Edit
Because I am crazy we drove like one and a half hour from the center of Mexico City to this place through huge traffic jams and finally found a place to park. We ordered 3 tacos (the pastor, and twice the cauliflower). The vegan coconut cheese was my first try (usually at home or in other restaurants I only know almond or cashew cheese). I have to say I am not a huge fan of that coconut cheese. But I expected typical mexican tacos, which was wrong. I realized, that La Pitahaya Vagana is a very creative innovative fusion place. They mix mexican with carribean and indian flavors. Once I realized this I appreciated the flavors and it was very interesting. It is certainly something you can't get everywhere. All in all I liked the pastor with shiitake mushrooms better and probably omnivores who go with you would prefer that flavor too because the consistency is more what we are used to. Very pretty are the pink tacos. They color them with a hint of red beet juice, but you will not taste any red beet. We also tried two desserts, a lemon tarte and an avocado chocolate mousse. I never say NO to a chocolate mousse. I ALWAYS eat my chocolate mousse completely. But I guess for everything there is a first time? This was the first chocolate mousse I did not like. It was very heavy, very rich and it had a hint of a weird flavor in it I don't know where that came from. So I am a little dissappointed by that. BUT the lemon tarte was my savior. Very light, fresh, delicious, creamy. I would go again for the lemontarte for sure!

My husband and I visited this small, casual restaurant the night we arrived to CDMX and we were not disappointed. The tacos had unique ingredient pairings — all of them more delicious than the next. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend.

This is my favourite place in Mexico City. The food is fresh, colorful and delicious. They don’t buy anything from packets and don’t use soy. They are passionate about healthy eating but everything tastes so fresh full of flavor. Highly recommended to anyone interested in veganism, high quality food and service with a smile :)

We loved this place when it was in Casa Quimera, our last visit was a complete disappointment! The place is so tiny we could barely move! The tacos are still good but the gringa was quite ordinary and they took sooooo looong. We could have lived with it but they increased their prices so much that we felt ripped off!! It’s just a pity, the staff is so nice and friendly but I wouldn’t recommend the experience.

I’d advise everyone to ignore this review, and for the poster to remove it. This place is delicious, they have the best vegan food in Mexico City and it’s quite honestly unlike most vegan food. The new place is smaller yes but the prices have not gone up so you’re lying about that. They also have 4 tables outside when the weather permits. As you said, the owners and staff are really nice people and they are trying to start out on their own after being messed around by the landlords of the previous vegan passage in Casa Quimera. I have no idea why you’d try and damage a small, independent, growing, creative business. Maybe you you stick to junk food and go review the new McDonalds Vegan burger.

Incredibly fresh and different. It’s not your common Mexico City street taco ...they really have a nice twist to them. The staff was also extremely friendly and this place is so clean . The fresh daily “agua” was refreshing. I will be back to also try their breakfast options.

Tacos with a healthy slant, but not by any means boring or bland. They actually tasted very clean and fresh to me. All tortillas are made in house. Definitely not cheap by local standards at 120 pesos for three tacos, but I felt they were worth the premium. Staff was very friendly and all smiles, spoke good English, and took the time to explain the menu to me. The restaurant is compact with just three tables. I imagine it could be a problem getting a seat during busy hours.

Fantastic Nutritious Experience - Edit
The experience was great from start to finish. Our waitress was very welcoming and gave us tons of suggestions. We ordered the cheese and all their 6 taco options. We also ordered their guacamole (Gordita they call it). The guacamole was a tad salty. Overall the tacos were very tasty and the food was extremely nutritious, every ingredient was a power food.

I always try to find authentic food when I travel. As a vegan you know that is difficult! But these tacos are so delicious!! Small restaurant but We went in the afternoon and there was no other guests. We had quite a few a tacos, me and my friend. It was great!

Delicate flavors, beautiful fresh tacos - Edit
These make me think of a European “elevated” take on vegan tacos — lots of ingredients like cabbage, cauliflower, green beans, and lots of creamy textures. The flavors are more delicate (ie, not spicy or strong) than any other vegan tacos I’ve tried in Mexico. Honestly not my thing, but if that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll find nowhere better.
