Excellent local fare - Edit
They we closed for a private party when we arrived but they made an exception for us. The food was excellent. We sat in the wonderful courtyard of Hotel Dieu which inspired some Van Gogh works.

Beautiful but not really good - Edit
Only one dish offers, A Lebanese boulgour that had no flavor of Lebanon and whose taste was a little disgusting (I couldn’t even recognize the spice or herb used).

The gem of Arles! - Edit
What a great place! Top location at the l'espace Van Gogh. I love their zero waste policy. On my first day in Arles I came there just before closing time, once again vegan options are rare in France. They prepared me a hot vegan meal. They put it in metal boxes which I could return the next day. Since I was for 2 days in Arles I knew I would have my breakfast and late lunch here too.
Read moreThey are so kind. The atmosphere is amazing. All the meals they prepared tasted great. Delicious juices as well along with real Italian coffee.
I hope more companies around the world should follow the zero waste policy.

Fresh et fraîche - Edit
The provençale vegan scene fluctuates more than is welcome. Marseille is on a downswing in 2021 but in Arles things have started to improve again. This has become a strong staple of the town. With excellent organic and ecological credentials in terms of its approach and offerings, La Cantine Vegetale keeps a small menu but the offerings are always spot on. The pastries are subtlely flavoured steering just clear of worthy. It’s not cheap but it’s wholesome, well considered, and you can sit in the hospital garden and consider the same trees Van Gogh did when he painted here.

Very nice place - Edit
At the heart of the old city, facing a beautiful and peaceful garden, here is the only vegan restaurant of the area. And this is just the perfect place to be: food is yummy - we had 1 tartine with homemade terrine, as well as 1 tart. Delicious!

Great - Edit
Really good, high quality vegan food! I liked this place a lot, just the kind of natural plant based food that brings out the best in vegan cuisine.

Vegan food par excellence - Edit
This place is a must-go in Arles. My boyfriend and I had cake and coffee there and were amazed by the taste and the quality. Everything is hand-made with a lot of love and the deepest respect for nature and animals, even the vegan milk in the coffee! The prices are really fair. The owner and the staff are super lovely people! They treated us in such a welcoming way. We said that we would leave a comment in this app, but forgot (our visit was in late August) and now we remembered again to let people know they gotta Check Out this restaurant

This place was wonderful to stumble across on a chilly day. Very helpful staff. Options are Tarte of the day and soup, or dish of the day ( large or small size). We also tried two of their delicious desserts. Simple, tasty food.

We had the dish of the day, juice and coffee. Dish of the day was a lovely mixed bowl inc polenta and olive paste, potato cake, lentil loaf, green salad and carrot. Such great flavours and filling too. Fresh bread as well. The juice was orange, mango and ginger so very good!! And great coffee to finish. Really well thought out meal.

a summer lunch - Edit
Ate here with my partner on a busy Saturday in late August during the annual photography festival. La Cantine has limited seating so it was full with the four staff stretched, the wait was long. The lunch bowl comprised raw vegetables with some pieces of fruit and a vinaigrette dressing, some cooked potato and a small piece of onion tart. It was tasty but rather small (though I could see some other people had been given bigger portions). The bowl with a spiced, mixed juice cost 16€.

Cons: Portion size can be small, Balance of dish (lack of protein, needs something
