100% recommendation!!! SO good!! - Edit
I went there twice and would come again every time again being in KL.
Read moreThey have a large menu of 100% vegan dishes.
Very tasteful, can be spicy if you want (they ask from 1-5 and 5 is spicy !!).
The prices for KL are more in the middle section but for that quality definitely ok.
check the pictures, there is a lot to try! also they have a few really delicious desserts. staff is very nice and helpful. the place itself is peaceful even when crowded.
Pros: all of the food i tried , deserts , atmosphere

Today I got the curry and asked for a 6 and they did not hold back. It was a different kind of experience! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Haha, brilliant !! And also brave 😂 Enjoy !! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I wished I would still be there to try everything what’s on the menu. But Taiwan is also really nice!!

It was the kinda heat I was coughing before the spoon touched my lips from the vapor! It was awesome. But nothing compares to the deliciousness of 上頂皇家素食水煎包. Which looks like she may have expanded a little. Can't wait to be back.

Shame it doesn't always come up unless you fiddle with the kooky HC filters bc it's a stall not a restaurant.

an absolute gem - Edit
kusa is classy, ridiculously value-for-money, and serves incredibly good japanese food. everything was so good, but the stand-outs for me were the spongy tofu and mango sushi 🤤 would come back here again in a heartbeat.

Eating in Japan as a vegetarian wasn’t an easy task, so it was a delight to enjoy this place. Great menu, well prepared and delicious food. Only thing missing was a Japanese beer!

Incredible food - Edit
Easily THE best vegan Japanese I have experienced out of Japan. Hip space with an extensive menu covering everyone’s Japanese favourites.
Read moreWe arrived fairly late so didn’t have the luxury of time on our side. Kitchen cut off is strictly 9:30pm so arrive early because it takes time to work through the massive menu and make choices.
Recommend the mango sushi and crispy tofu but I could easily eat anything from this menu.

Delightful Food, Though A Bit Pacey - Edit
The food here more than justifies it’s high rating as it was super fresh and incredibly tasty. The edamame were as salty as they should have been, the miso had great depth, the spongy tofu and mushroom popcorn were crispy without being overly oily, the Kusa ramen was fragrant and the tempeh fried rice had a great kick to it (spice level four) and excellent flavour. Of the sushi and the hand roll, my particular favourite was the inari, though none of them disappointed. The desserts were a slight enigma. I really enjoyed them…I think! The crème brûlée cheesecake was a bit of an oddity, but in a good way. The salted gula melaka was the superior of the two ice creams.
Read moreI would say my only minor criticism of this place was that nearly all my dishes came out at once. While I’m certainly not one to complain about masses of food being at my disposal, I would have liked them to have been a little more spaced out. That being said, I would have zero qualms about returning here, especially given the price.

Second visit in a week 👌 - Edit
Had to visit again while in KL, amazing food, ambience and staff. Tonight we had totally different dishes to the first time and again, they were outstanding. Do not miss this place if you are in KL 👌

Tasty food + Excellent Customer service - Edit
We walked in and were greeted by a very warm environment. Place is very classy and clean. Waiters (Hussain) was very polite and friendly to talk to. Food is amazing and by far the best vegan sushi you will find in this country. Portion however is not worth the price. Small portions for expensive prices. Probably won’t return again because of the steep cost.

Pros: Warm environment , Can make special request on orders , Restaurant is entirely vegan

Best vegan restaurant in Kuala Lumpur - Edit
This was probably the best vegan restaurant I have ever been to. The place has a lovely interior and wonderful staff that welcome you as soon as you enter. The menu was gorgeously presented and had an insane amount of options it was hard to choose! We ended up having edamame, battered mushrooms, sushi, mushroom jjijiang rice, and a spicy ramen. For dessert we had tiramisu and a chocolate cupcake. Everything was absolutely delicious. 100% recommend if in Kuala Lumpur! Also located right near Pavilion shopping centre.

Solid Choice for Japanese-Inspired Cuisine - Edit
For those interested in Japanese-inspired dining options, Kusa presents a noteworthy option. As a frequent patron over the years, I've found their offerings to be reliably good and consistent in quality. The menu, which leans more towards Japanese-inspired than authentic traditional Japanese, has enough variety to keep things interesting. The atmosphere of the place is pleasant, and the staff are generally welcoming, adding to the overall dining experience. It's a solid choice for anyone looking to explore a range of flavours in a comfortable setting. A standout has been the spicy ramen, which consistently impresses with its robust flavours.

Great experience head to toes - Edit
We visited it two times, most impressive experience in Kuala Lumpur for us. Meals are amazing, staff is very friendly and concentrated on their visitors. They checked all our marks for a high level dining experience. We recommend to take at least 5 course meal if you are hungry. Our average check for a family was 220 RM

Attitude - Edit
Wasn’t good enough for all the attitude they served! Bad hospitality and the portions were small. It tasted okay but not to the level they act like their food tastes lol. Still happy to go since there aren’t many fully vegan restaurants in Kuala Lumpur and one of them already gave us food poisoning the night before.

Subpar food with a hefty price - Edit
Tempura was very bland, but the fried mushrooms and spongy tofu were decent. The jjajang rice was good but didn’t taste anything like jjajang it tasted like mushroom rice. The sushi’s I tried weren’t anything special other than the climate maki but they’re really small. It’s just not worth it for the price point at all because the food isn’t fantastic it’s honestly below average.

Not worth the price - Edit
I was really excited to try this place as I saw it was previously Supe sushi and I loved the Supe sushi in Georgetown.
Read moreThe menu looked very similar but unfortunately it wasn’t as nice. The sushi was great but the mushroom Jajangmyeon was a bit odd. (Admittedly I’d never had it before though so maybe it was what it was meant to taste like and I just didn’t like it…)
Overall I’d say it was nice but not worth the more expensive price.

Good, but comparatively pricy - Edit
I went all in when I visited and ordered many different kinds of sushi (didn’t take a picture of all). Taste was good but pieces were way smaller and prices quite a bit higher than in other places in the city. Was a good option to try once (especially for the non-standard vegan options), but would only go there again on a special occasion.

Incredible Japanese restaurant - Edit
I highly recommend visiting Kusa, they serve amazing food.
Read moreI came a couple of times and always tried different things. The Kusa Ramen was my favourite Ramen, there are 5 different levels of spicyness, don't go too high even if you usually like spicy food. It packs quite a punch, but the friendly waiters will help you find the correct level.
The amount of soup and Ramen is quite a lot, the other dishes are on the smaller end.
I also highly recommend the All in One mix of different Sushi / Maki.
Also, the spongy tofu / tempura / Kusa Tempeh with any of the different fried rices and salads are absolutely incredible as well.
Be prepared to pay a little bit more, especially if you "Create your own menu" with fried rice and the different small platters.(compared to restaurants in KL, interenationally speaking this is an absolute steal.)
But it's definitely well worth it.
The only dish that wasn't 100% to my personal liking was the Jjajiang Ramen.
The drinks, especially Kaffel and Kombucha are also great.
If you come in a bigger group, or even just as a couple on a weekend, be prepared to maybe wait for a little bit. It gets quite crowded at the peak times.
Even when it's fully packed, they serve everything quite quickly.
Pros: amazing japanese food, Unique and well balanced flavours, diverse menu
