Honest Food. Some Vegan Options - Edit
The Japanese experience was good. Good, honest food. Very few vegan options on the menu, but we still managed to eat well, with a few adaptations. Good location and good service.

Sushi extraordinario! - Edit
Hay como siete, ocho rollos vegetarianos y todos se pueden pedir vegano. Simplemente hay que preguntar. Pará nosotros no fue ningún problema.

Fave in Cartagena - Edit
Dedicated vegetarian menu that can be vegan modified. They swap the rolls which has cream with avocado or potatoes. Staff were well aware of what is vegan and helped us to learn order. Unfortunately they don’t do the combos with veganized items but I was able to make my own platter ordering only 4 rolls and got a beautifully presented boat of sushis. Their chimi rolls, which is like a fried hot roll was the highlight for me. Place is big and nice atmosphere.

Amazing vegan sushi 😍 - Edit
We ordered the crispy vegan sushi and the wake sushi, but the crispy was soooo good, we actually ordered it again 😅 one dish is enough for one person, the rolls are quite large. The teriyaki sauce is made with honey, but they are just as good with soy sauce.

Mediocre - Edit
I would not recommend this place. I tried the vegan-ized pad Thai and it didn't have any flavor, and a vegan sushi roll which was all mush. The restaurant had been recommended by a friend so I was pretty surprised. I saw someone order the veggie wok though and it did look good, maybe try that if you end up at the restaurant.

Fun Place, Good Food - Edit
Kokoa is on an entertaining street in the Getsamani area, and the inside atmosphere keeps that fun vibe going. It’s a confused but lively mixture of Caribbean, Hawaiian, and Asian decor, with good lighting, too.
Read moreWe got a vegan version of the Pad Thai (not listed as being veganizable, though they readily made it so) and two vegan sushi rolls. My only issues with the meal were that there was a decorative flourish of mayonnaise sauce on the sushi platter (some of it rubbing off on the roll), and the seaweed they used was very sea-tasting, nearly fishy. Maybe that doesn’t bother you.
The Pad Thai was quite good, especially in a town where Thai food is shockingly absent. This may be the third Asian restaurant we’ve been to here, and it was probably the best. Give it a try!

Amazing food, there are options on the menu that you easily make vegan. We bought three different plates to share between the three of us. Highly recommend the sweet potato batata sushi with sweet potato in it. Food came pretty quickly and service was good.

Awesome vegan asian food! - Edit
We were looking for a place to eat in Cartagena and found Kokoa on Happy Cow. They have a few vegan options, but our waitress fully understood what vegan was. We ordered 3 different type of sushi - one with mushroom, one topped with avocado, and one with crispy quinoa. They were all really great. Also ordered the Thai Pineapple fried rice without the chicken. It was just the right amount of spice and great taste. We would have gone back again, but they are closed on Mondays.

Delicious but slow service - Edit
We ordered a veggie wok and a curry (they made without milk to make it vegan) and we also ordered vegan sushi. The food was delicious and we went back however vegan food isn't labelled so you need to ask. Only problem is slow service however I don't think it's the waitresses, probably more to do with the kitchen
