Vegan Thai and Gluten free restaurant - Edit
Located at 4 rue Damiette, in Paris 1, this Thai restaurant chain has a fully vegan and gluten-free restaurant: Kapunka Vegan or Mr. K Vegan.
Read moreIn a quiet street, this restaurant has a warm decoration, it is a bistronomic, which allows a drink or a coffee and a meal.
The dishes are of good quality and very well served on a hearty plate.
Everything is vegan and gluten free. Many choices of dish, there are all tastes!
In short, a good place to have a good meal with friends.
Pros: Welcome, hearty

Delicious Thai Food - Edit
I was waiting for a real vegan Thai restaurant to at last open in Paris and with Monsieur K restaurant I was not disappointed! On the contrary!
Read moreI went there for dinner with a friend. I had a tom kha and a poke bowl. My friend had an advocado Thai toast and a curry Panang. Everything was absolutely delicious! It tasted like traditional Thai food. We loved it.
I disagree with a previous comment saying that meat is not the main ingredient in Thai food, so it is easy to make vegan Thai food, you just have to remove meat. In Thai food many sauces, ingredients and seasoning contain fish, shrimp, etc. So no, you do not make vegan Thai food by just removing the meat. There is a bit more than that.
If you are looking for real vegan Thai, Monsieur K Vegan is the place to go. Note that the restaurant does not have many seats. So either come very early or make a reservation.
Pros: Real traditional Thai food, Tasty and Delicious, Generous portions, Freindly staff
Cons: A bit pricey, Tiny place, not many seats

Tasty Thai food - Edit
Went there for an early lunch on a rainy day when all other vegan spots were packed. A little Thai gem hidden from the main street hustle. The dishes are tasty and filling. Generous portions that make up for the slightly higher price point. Friendly, English speaking staff.

Fresh vegan Thai - Edit
A tiny restaurant with fresh Thai dishes and friendly, helpful one-person staff.

Too full to try a main dish😉 - Edit
Monsieur K Vegan happened to be the last stop on my "Go to as many vegan places as possible and try sth in each one" tour...
Read moreNeedless to say I was far from being hungry when I walked in😄Instead I really came for a glass of vegan wine and a place to sit and read... While seated I decided to at least try an appetizer and went for the Papaya salad.
I enjoyed all of it as well as the nice conversation with the bartender so I will probably be back to try some real food next time😄

Thai food, done vegan. - Edit
Based on the reviews on Happy Cow, I decided to go to Monsinieur K Vegan for dinner. It's a small vegan restaurant at 5 minutes walking distance from Strasbourgh Saint Denis station (Google Maps will guide you right to the doorstep). The restaurant doesn't like Thai or Asian, but rather Scandinavian style warm and welcoming with lots of wood and stylish materials.
Read moreThe menu is in French only, but the staff was happy to help me translate. Since I was hungry, the staff advised a curry. I choose the yellow one (see photo) and it was wonderful. A nice variety of vegetables, with added mushrooms and tofu for energy. All ingredients seemed to be of high quality. Everything was prepared just right: the vegetables weren't too soft or too hard, the soup wasn't too spicy or too sweet.
When I asked for an orange juice the waiter didn't just pop open a box or a bottle. Instead, he got tree fresh oranges and juiced them on the spot. Great!
After dinner I spoke to the owner and he explained that Thai food is quite easy to turn vegan. In Thai cuisine meat isn't the main ingredient, so by removing it or replacing it Thai food doesn't loose it's taste. On the other hand: this also means that "Monsinieur K Vegan" doesn't serve extraordinary culinary delights: it's Thai food, done vegan and done well. No more, no less.
Pros: good food, pleasant atmosphere, helpful staff
Cons: menu only in French, not exactly cheap (but: high quality ingredients)

first vegan Thai i tried - Edit
I love Thai food, but since I became vegan it was only possible at home. This new Thai restaurant is a surprise. Apparently it's the same owner as all the other Thai restaurant under the same name, but since he married a (american) vegan, he got the change to try new recipes.
Read moreI consider it a success. It felt like original Thai spices.
Prices might be a bit high, but portions are large. With the Tom yum and the curry panang I was completely stuffed. and I usually eat a lot !
I'll definitely go again. Well worth it.
Pros: friendly staff, tastes like real Thai
Cons: small place. book in advance, portions too big?

Vegan Thai Food in Paris! - Edit
I'm so happy there's finally a vegan thai restaurant in Paris! This restaurant is a vegan branch of Monsieur K, a "regular" thai restaurant.
Read moreThe menu is not large but there are 4 or 5 options for appetizers, mains or desserts. We had the Tom Yam soup, the yellow curry and the mikati. They were all excellent!
Although prices are a bit above average, portions were generous, so having just a main dish may be filling enough.
The staff was friendly and attentive. There are about 16 seats so making a reservation might be better.
Will definitely come back. :)
Pros: yummy, friendly staff, good value
