Small portions, tastes ok, run out of food 1h before closing - Edit
Tiny portions for what you pay. Much dough, little filling. And we had only two options together choose from (one pieces of the first one, three of the second, so the guys in the line after us failed to eat anything), although it was almost an hour before closing. Tasted ok, though.

Delicious traditional food made vegan - Edit
We went for breakfast and sampled all three kinds of Karelian pies (caviart, eggless butter, and pickles) as well as a round pastry with mushrooms and sour cream. Everything was delicious and the owners were friendly. Cute place in a great location near many museums and a park, nice outdoor seating area.

Cozy and lovely - Edit
My grandmother would say that the cafe was lovely and cozy. And I’m pretty much my grandmother at this point. A lovely little, all vegan cafe in the museum area. It has a limited lunch menu, but it was just what I need. I had the soup (leak and zucchini) and side salad with wonderful, fresh bread. I then had a sea salt brownie, which was wonderful.

Located in the beautiful museum yard. Cafe so cozy that it gives you the comfort of being home. Family run vegan recipes. Perfectly baked cinnamon buns. Tasty soups for lunch, daily chancing cakes from Finnish ingredients and pies. Salty carelian pies with toppings. Comfort food. For everyone to enjoy not just vegans. Highly recommend eat here!

Feeling of home cooked meal and baked goods. Everything we tasted (soup, bread, pies and four different cakes as well as the “pulla”) was delicious. Shall be visiting again.

Exceeded my already high expectations - Edit
Classic finnish food, 100% vegan. This cafe has been at the top of my list of must visit places. The bakery itself is attached to a museum, run by a mother and two daughters. There is so much history in the building itself as well as the food that is shared. We shared some karalien pies and pastries and enjoyed a roast vegetable soup with the softest bread I have ever had. Wow just spectacular. Also an extra shout out for the pulla (cinnamon scroll) which was still hot from the oven.

Highlight of my trip - Edit
I loved this place. I was so happy to find vegan versions of traditional Finnish pastries. The location is a lovely historic house with indoor and outdoor seating. I got the soup of the day (pumpkin), two Karelian pies, and a limonadi. Everything was delicious, especially the Karelian pies.

Amazing - Edit
Everything was so amazing, the very friendly staff, the place with a sunny terrace and a lovely room inside, and of course the food omg. These potatoe toasts are incredibly good, the one with the fake eggs is mind blowing, the salad was delicious, and so was the brioche !

Maybe the nicest cafe in Helsinki city centre - Edit
A beautiful all-vegan family-run cafe set in the bakery building of a historic villa. Next time will try the Carelian pies as I've heard they are a must. This time I tried a spinach and vegan cheese pastry with an oat latte - a tasty combo but the vegan cheese could have had a yummier, more creamy taste.

Wow, mother & 2 daughters run this incredible vegan 🌱 place. - Edit
In honour of their grandmother and her Karelian recipes they set this place up in March 2022.
Read moreIn 1944 more than 420,000 Karelians had to leave their homes as their home land was annexed by Russia.
Their grandmother settled in Lapland and never forgot her homeland that had been taken away from her & her people.
Talking to the family about the history of the food is unbelievable and makes the food taste better with meaning (see pictures)
We tried all the incredible pies and some of the desserts. The cottage itself has always been a bakery and is set in the grounds of the big house to which it originally belonged. This big house is now a museum.
The future is vegan 🌱

Karelian cuisine made vegan with 💚 - Edit
Everything about Kahvila Rakastan was charming and beautiful, from the cosy setting in the bakery house, to the family who created the kahvila in honour of their grandmother, to the delicious food.
Read moreWe were honoured to try the traditional Karelian food made with love in the plant based way. We tried one of most things on offer. The soup was warm and nourishing, the Karelian pies unique and the sweet pastries a comforting treat.
The cafe was very popular and we can understand why. If there are a few of you visiting, it may be worth making a reservation in advance, especially on a weekend, when it can be busy.

Tiny and lovely vegan cafe in the heart of Helsinki offering typical Finnish pastries 😍 from Karelian pies to cinnamon rolls. I tried laskiaispulla filled with cream and jam, simply delicious! They offer drinks like cappuccino or latte with oat milk, delicious! I cannot wait to go back and try other pastries! This is definitely a must if you’re visiting Helsinki!!

Dream café to visit for tourists like us! All vegan, prideflags, cosy, super nice staff who explained the finish specialties they had made from their grandmother's recepie... The piirakkakolmoset with potato and "egg"cream was one of the best things I've ever tasted (religious moment really, thanked God and everything)! I recommend this place with love!
