Lovely snack stop - Edit
There is plenty of seats inside and outside but we stopped by for some takeaway snacks after visiting the Kiasma museum. It was nice to try some traditional Finnish options, the cabbage pie and sweet pastries were lovely

Small but cosy vegan cantine in Helsinki.
Read moreI'm glad to find vegan versions of traditional finish dishes ! You can find several carelian pie types and cabbage pie, as well as finish pastries and cakes. It is served with salad and bread.
Everything was delicious, I loved especially the cabbage pie, the "egg" salad carelian pie and the cinnamon roll.
It is must in Helsinki !

Intimate atmosphere with traditional dishes - Edit
This was one of my absolute highlights during my time in Helsinki - my favorite eating spot while I was there. It's kind of hidden away on top of a hill a small little building.
Read moreI had all the three savory Karelian pies available, with a side of salad, which were all absolutely delicious. One I think had tofu made to resemble tuna or so; another with "caviar" made from seaweed. Also had a lovely chai latte.
I got a dessert too... had a hard time picking from all the pastries, but ultimately settled on an orange-chocolate "cheese"cake.
The atmosphere is another reason to visit. It's small, very intimate, feels a bit like being a guest in a home. I observed feminist and LGBTQ-friendly decor too.
I wish I could've been in Helsinki longer to try other things here, as I think they have daily specials and pastries rotate. Will definitely revisit next time I see Helsinki.
Pros: Intimate, homey atmosphere, Very friendly and helpful staff, Traditional Finnish/Karelian food with vegan spin!
Cons: Menu in Finnish, but they'll help translate! , I think some food items and menu rotate

I love it - Edit
Cute cafeteria next to Hakasalmen huvila-museum. Had a glass of sparkling rhubabrb wine and two carelian pies with toppings. Couldn’t resist taking a piece of licorice cake for dessert as well. Traditional finnish delicacies with a twist!

Absolutely Superb - Edit
This is a real find for vegans. Thoughtful food made with heart. Many of the recipes are from the chefs grandma. They bring together traditional Finnish food with plant-based wisdom. The little kerali pies are superb, main courses are hearty and flavourful. I took away a blueberry and cream bun for later, this too was utterly delicious. If you are visiting Helsinki seek this place out ,. you will not be disappointed

Cozy lunch spot - Edit
Such a cute little cafe with a friendly team running it. We enjoyed our lunch, it was fresh and filling. There's a changing daily dish of the day and today there was also baked potatoes with salad and toppings. The buns we tried were nice as well, especially the one with cinnamon.

Pretty good - Edit
We went there during our day trip to Helsinki and wanted to try vegan Finnish food. Unfortunately most of the Karelian pie was already sold out and they were smaller than expected. So we ordered one Karelian pie that was left (which tasted like a traditional dish of my home region Brandenburg, nice), cabbage pasty (also good) and cinnamon rolls for our trip back to Estonia. Can recommend it but expect a long queue on weekends.

Beautiful location, great selection - Edit
Right between parliament, city museum, concert hall, Finlandia building and the busy Mannerheimintie is this little gem. You can barely hear the street and seating outside (if weather permits) is really dreamy. The selection of cakes, pastries and drinks is great, delicious and reasonably priced. Absolute must of you're in Helsinki!

Nice vegan* cafe right across from national museum - Edit
Great sweet and savory pastries and desserts, various coffee drinks as well as drip coffee, and a small lunch menu with a few nice options. I ordered their new baked potato served with a green salad, tofu skagen and creamy mushroom and smoky "salmon" carrot salads. The potato and salads were well made and very tasty, especially the "salmon" which i highly recommend. My partner had a salad and 3 Karelian pies with various toppings, and enjoyed their meal as well. I had a slice of gluten free chocolate cake and my partner had a cinnamon bun, which were both delicious. They also have a selection of beverages including niche sodas and alcoholic beverages. Only downside was that they happened to be out of soup, and the space was a bit small on a busy Saturday. Cozy cafe we will definitely be returning to.

Always come here for the Carelian Pies💗 - Edit
Carelian pies are among my finnish favourites for 20+ years now, they are available in vegan versions in the supermarkets, but not so often in Restaurants, this is one of the few places I know to serve them. They got three different ones with different toppings, all a good match and all very tasty! Managed to have a vegan pulla afterwards as well, this time.

Sweet ambience, good food - Edit
Ordered three Karelian pies - the egg butter was the best. The pickled cucumber was weird cuz it had sugar syrup, but the caviar topped pie was good. The mashed potato filling was sumptuous. The cinnamon bun wasn’t bad either

it was nice to eat real, homemade karelian pies! all the toppings were good, but i would recommend the ”munavoi” one above all! it’s not the prettiest one but it’s the classic 👍
