One of our faves! - Edit
This place had the best atmosphere of any of the places we ate in Stockholm - an alternative vibe with a social justice/anarchist bookshop joined on😄We had the brunch burger set meal which came with an amazing burger, tortilla chips, salsa, pancakes and a slice of melon and orange, all for 100SEK which is great for Sweden. The 3 mini pancakes in the meal are such a good idea and they were excellent, served with maple syrup and blueberries. We also had the chocolate cake and apple cake which were great, except the chocolate cake was a little sickly and dense. The only reason they drop a star is the lack of choice and the fact that they're all about social justice but still serve milk which is worse than meat in a lot of ways.

Punk rock vegan cafe = YES - Edit
We loved this place. The interior is covered in every kind of anarchist/antifa/anti-discrimination stickers and posters, and the menu is all vegan by default, with dairy options on request.
Read moreThe burger was excellent, the patty has wheat gluten (seitan-style) so is pretty "meaty" and great texture.
I had the salad of the day which was sort of like a Greek salad, but had melon as well as a creamy vegan feta. Never had a salad with melon before which was surprising, but it worked really well and was 10/10 delicious.
We'll go back before we leave Stockholm if we get the chance.
Pros: Interesting venue, Good prices, Fantastic food

one of my favourite place - Edit
Simple food but tasty and friendly staff. Cosy and friendly place, punks and artists meeting point, non alcoholic beverages. I always plan on going there for a quick meal or coffee, and end up staying hours. A nice place to be if you are not a posh person

Worth visiting - Edit
The place is very cosy and stuff is really nice. So far I ate there only cakes with coffe/beer and it was very tasty. Prices are good. During weekends quite crowded. The only thing that bothers me is why they offer cow milk or cheese to theirs meals (everything else is vegan).

don't expect too much - Edit
We came here for a nice sunday brunch after having read all the great reviews and... got disappointed. I ordered a vegan burger with guacamole. The veggie patty turned out to be pretty hard and unchewable. Plus it didn't taste well and the whole plate with all the ingredients didn't look healthy and nice (the slices of watermelon were next to pickles and nachos). If you are into healthy and delicious food, I would not recommend to go there.

Fight the Power, Feed your Face - Edit
Kafe 44 is such a cool place with very friendly staff, cool music and a great atmosphere. They also combine all these things with great food and politics, which are two of my favorite interests. Personally I loved all the political messages and decor but enough about politics I am here to report on the food, which I am pleased to say was extremely satisfying and very tasty. We ordered the classic cheeseburger (60kr) and the 44, which was a burger with fried garlic mushrooms (65kr) and also a side of potato wedges with chilli mayo (20kr). The texture and taste of the burgers was excellent and you can help yourself to sauces, which are provided on each table. These were some of the best burgers we tasted during our stay in Stockholm and so cheap and given more time we would have returned again. The wedges were pretty good too. I only wish it was open during evenings, as this would be such a cool bar to go to. Definitely a must visit.

Cheap and simple - Edit
The food and hygiene has improved a lot the last couple of years, and the place has finally left the eggs and dairy behind. They have also brushed up on the kitchen equipment and style. But the classic anarchist/socialist activist environment remains, so I still feel at home =) They always have vegan versions of seasonal foods and pastries such as "semlor" in February.

Sunday brunch - Edit
Vegan brunch = amazing cheeseburgers, mini blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, smoothies and free refill coffee. The cafe and shop is sort of punk/antifa. The staff are lovely and it's obviously very popular on Sundays.

Why fake products? - Edit
First time eating the food here and must say I'm not happy with what I got. Not sure if it's a special theme but this was my take on Kafe44's food.
Read moreWeird combination of flavors on one plate. Pancakes, syrap, and sautéed mushrooms. Potatoes, mayo and strawberries? Well, I asked to get a plate without the pancakes and extra food. Not sure how much food a small pancake is worth but I didn't notice anything extra on my plate. I'm still hungry as I'm writing this review.
I honestly wouldn't recommend anyone eating this food considering the bad fake meats they use. Excessive oil on the potatoes and weird combination of ingredients. For 80 kr for one small plate of processed food I'd rather go next door to the large amounts of cafés in the area that can serve vegan food.
I also asked about the sugar they used but she wasn't really sure if it is vegan. Hopefully they'll look into it.
Pros: WiFi, non-profit, cozy
Cons: small amounts of food, waitress was on her phone every chance she got, [censored] fake sausage

Sugar in Europe is always vegan. The bone-char thing only happens in the US.

Just go here! When you walk in, there's small book store area and tee shirts. Then go downstairs to cafe. Order at the counter then have a seat and they bring it out to you. Friendly, funky, awesome.

my new favorite place in Stkhlm! - Edit
it is placed in the middle of nowhere but once you open those doors you feel like you have just entered the closet of Narnia. chill/reggae/punk-ish atmosphere, great music, taaaaasty desserts for a cheap-ass price! haven't tried any of the dishes besides desserts but they have a new addition to their menu - all vegan BURGERS. Definitely coming back !

Well worth a visit! - Edit
What the others have said about punkish atmosphere, cheap prices, very limited menu options (one sandwish, maybe one other kind of dish - not always, one or two choises of cake or cookies) is true.
Read moreAbsolutely worth a visit. Buy a t-shirt or hoodie from the store upstairs while you're there!
But note! It's best to check the opening hours from their facebook page. The place apparently runs on half- or full voluntary staff and they don't always get it open every day of the week.

Fun, punky little place - Edit
Don't expect large selection. There were only one type of sandwich and two types of cake on offer. On the other hand, prices were not large either. And everything is vegan. Take a warm sandwich and a piece of snickerstårta (if you are not allergic to nuts) with a cup of coffee (with oat cream) and you'll be happy.

How can you turn down a combination as fantastic as food (or coffee) and revolution? The books and the events at 44 is inspiring for everyone who wants a new system and a new world.

alternative - Edit
I like this place, because it is basically the only of its kind in Stockholm: punkishly alternative, with lots of free spirit, with a freebox for things to swap, cheap vegetarian food, etc. Miss some good vegan options though.
