I visited Sapporo recently and was very fortunate to have found this restaurant! I was more than pleased with everything they had to offer. Amazing dishes, very nice staff and a good amount of Vegan options.

I also loved how I was able to choose my spice level for the curry dishes (I like it hot!) and the heat was just perfect!
It can be a bit tricky to find Vegan options in Japan, so this place was a Godsend!
I will definitely be back I (maybe to try the "Special Hot" spice choice next time, lol).
Definitely give a visit if you're in Sapporo! You won't be disappointed!
I'd give 5 stars, but apparently it needs to be full veg. for that. Either way, 5 stars in my book! Great Job!

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Vegan options clearly labeled. Portions a bit expensive for the size, but like others have said, not many options in this area. Menu outside doesn’t match menu inside; there is a cheap veg set listed outside and the menu inside only has one that is twice the price.

It was difficult to find vegan friendly restaurants in Sapporo that leave you feeling full and satisfied. JYOTI was definitely the exception. Everything is made fresh and the portion sizes are very generous. I tried several dishes in the menus, all of which were delicious. So much so, that I ended up going there 3 times during my one-week stay. The owner is very kind, speaks great English and Japanese, and is very accommodating to one’s picky vegan needs. The restaurant has a nice simple atmosphere and feels very clean. I didn’t see vegan naan on the menu which was a little disappointing. The Roti was great though so I didn’t miss not having naan. I wouldn’t be surprised if they could make vegan naan on request, but I didn’t ask.

Located upstairs, an Indian restaurant with numerous vegan options clearly labelled on their menu. The menu is in English so ordering is easy. The portion sizes are typical of Japanese meals. The food was delicious! Can get a set meal for lunch (small salad, small main dish - choice of veg curry or dahl, and a small rice or bread) for around ¥800 on weekdays.

We had a pleasant dining experience at Jyoti. Although not vegan, the butter naan at Jyoti was amazing. Please note that they have many different levels of spice, we ordered medium and it was still very mild really. But the dishes themselves were good.

Even though the menu has stickers on all their vegan and vegetarien options the food wasn’t very tasty. The Dal and Chana Masala was very fluent and thin, to be honest it was more like a soup. I ordered rice with my dish and it was very sticky and wet, again not very Indian.

Super Vegan Friendly Indian Food - Edit
Cute, second-floor Indian restaurant in bustling Sapporo shopping location. We ordered exclusively vegetarian (some vegan) - and all of it was great. The chana massala was some of the best we've ever had (we tried ultra mild and medium spicy - the ultra mild version is a little extra sweet, which was unusual and delightful). Black sesame nan added a Japanese flair to our veg Indian experience. The eggplant curry and Dal also were fantastic - as was the paratha. The owner exclaimed enthusiastically that he would like to have more vegan and vegetarian guests. The staff checked each order to see whether the person was vegan or vegetarian to ensure the meal met everyone's dietary preferences. Highly recommend for vegans, vegetarians, and others as well!
