hidden pearl..

i stumbled upon this place while riding my rented bike through berlin.
i saw a sign and decided to take a look.
what a peaceful place!
great atmosphere and friendly staff.
jivamukti is all about health and trendy things such as fresh ginger water and kombucha.
Their kombucha is sooo good and also their banana bread. I usually never have bananabread somewhere(it's too standard haha and easy to make), but they ensured me that it's the best bananabread ever.
And maybe it was..

Pros: good kombucha, healthy

Cons: hidden, bit expensive

Great atmosphere

I had a really delicious juice and "ate" a smoothie afterwards which I found needed a little bit more sweetness so I asked the stuff for more dates and the girl was really nice and helped me out really fast. I would definitely come back

Just Okay for a place to eat

If I were taking a yoga class here, it would be awesome to be able to grab a bite after, or a little snack. I found the atmosphere was not necessarily the best for me to just go and eat there for the sake of eating there. The cafe area itself was empty, but people walked through the cafe to get to the yoga classes, so I wasn't a huge fan of just eating there.

The food here was really good, though! I had The Local sandwich, which featured sauerkraut quite prominently, and I also had a half glass of the Pink Power juice, which was delightfully sweet and spicy. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a quick bite or snack, or maybe attending a class and then getting something to eat!

Pros: Tasty food, All vegan

Cons: Weird atmosphere for a cafe

"Interesting" little place

Maybe it's me that didn't get the place (the canteen of a yoga studio) but I didn't enjoy the stay or the food.
Too small, too dark (and "hidden" in an alley between the actual surrounding building).
The food, I took a cup of hot choco and slice of banana bread-cake (which was the only thing I found interesting in the all-German menu, probablt there are English ones as well but they weren't displayed so I didn't ask for one), was... truth is the bread-cake was stale. The choco was excellent though.

The service was friendly, though I did get a little bit of a feeling, from the two waitresses, one at the register and one sitting next to her reading a book and talking to the other one, of "lets get this over with so I can get back to talking with my friend".

All in all, I guess you just need to get the place's "mood" to enjoy it to the fullest, which I didn't.

Pros: Small, comfy place, Friendly-ish crew

Cons: Kinda hidden location. And dark, German menu is rather small, Yoga studio vibe (for me, it's a con)

Peaceful place

Self-service food for yoga Berliners; food tastes very good. A few warm options (hamburger, "cheese" sandwich, soup), all vegan and gladly without garlic. Nice creations with fruit & oatmeal. Room full of incense stick odor (nice) and peaceful music. Not as small as one would think (around 15 seats plus three outside). Excellent smoothies. Free internet. Always excellent quality. Located in hip part of town close to tram stop Rosenthaler Platz. Note that Canteen is in typical Berlin 'Hinterhaus' (rear house).

Pros: Garlic-free, bio, vegan, nice, small food creations, no 5-star-restaurant nonsense

Excellent food and service!

100% vegan cafe, with a large menu and delicious drinks. Tried the daily soup and a scrambled tofu sandwich, excellent for brunch or healthy lunch. Very kind staff, and a cozy place to sit. I absolutely recommend the Dirty Chai Latte!

Pros: Excellent food and drink, Impeccable service and relaxing place to eat, You won't leave hungry for a fair price (and free

expensive but tasty

If this place was a bit cheaper it would get five stars. It's vegan, has free filtered water, bathrooms, wifi. The coffee and house chai is good, there is oat and soya milk. There is usually a soup and hot dish for lunch, and jarred food in the fridge at two sizes. There is also a selection of cake and cookies and energy balls - all I have tried are delicious. It is also tucked away in a courtyard which is nice, and runs classes, with a shop selling branded merchandise.

The staff are lovely

Pros: taste, healthy, staff and location

Cons: price

Favourite

Favourite Vegan place I went to in Berlin. The food selection is small and the portions could be bigger but the few things I sampled on the menu couldn't of tasted any better.

Hi Yuri! Thank you so much for your positive feedback on our JiVamukti Canteen. Given our philosophy of using 100% organic ingredients only and all is home-made on the premises, unfortunately, our prices at the Canteen might appear as not cheap, but actually they are still too cheap as we are practically cross-financing the food offering with the yoga by a 5 figure sum every month. So thank you for your support.

Yes, you are right. For organic food this is not much as I see now. Your place was just the first I've visited (I think, ever) :) Kind regards!

Best Kept Secret

What a hidden gem. Tucked away through two passages. This relaxing canteen is directly opposite Chay Viet Veg restaurant. The smoothees cakes, soups and sandwiches are 1st class. The staff are friendly and the prices are inexpensive, especially considering it's all organic food.

Don't miss this one on your Berlin vegan tour.

Pros: Friendly staff, Inexpensive great food, Chilling music

Hi Jules! Thank you so much for your positive feedback on our JiVamukti Canteen in Mitte. We are, however, wondering how you came to the conclusion that we are part of the most expensive yoga in berlin as we don't think that is true. Maybe we can help to clear the myth here :). It is frankly a bit sad, why apparently this conclusion made you to give the Canteen listing only 3 stars even though you said it is super nice. Because actually the yoga supports the canteen financially quite a bit. Anyways, would love to hear some more detailed feedback and happy to answer your questions and comments on our pricing. Either here or by email: info@jivamuktiberlin.de

Good sticky cake

This place is more like a post-yoga hangout, I guess, but they have an interesting, somewhat sticky vegan and gluten-free nut cake, free self-serve water, and of course yoga. Other stuff (salads etc) comes pre-prepared from a fridge. Then there's smoothies and the like. I only had the cake, which was good. Nice and quiet location in the second backyard.

Pros: good cake, free water

Nice cafe

Nice peaceful place with decent sandwich, soups, salads and sweets. Sandwiches were quite tasty with marinated tofu and spread. I think they also had gluten free options in their sweets. Cakes and cookies I tried weren't that memorable.

Pros: Tasty sandwiches, Peaceful atmostphere, Price

Cons: Sweets are not so impressive

Excellent

We stopped by for breakfast not expecting much, but to our surprise we were presented with freshly made and still warm croissants (regular and almond), bircher muesli, and various other breakfast items which seem to be hard to come across in Germany. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful (also suggested other great vegetarian and vegan friendly places to eat in Berlin). Recommend it to anybody and we will be going back on our next visit to Berlin.

Pros: Great tasting food, Friendly staff, Reasonably priced
