Wonderful experience - Edit
I had no idea that a full vegan JAPANESE restaurant existed, but I was determined to try it when I discovered it randomly on Happy Cow. And I wasn’t disappointed. Furnished as a real japanese restaurant ought to be and great food was served suprisingly quick.

Simple but tasty - Edit
Had the £10 bento box from their lunch menu, and the side dishes offered were quite delicious. The interior was cute, and it's a convenient walk from King's Cross station. Can't wait to try other things from their menu.

Great food, just aim to get there for the lunch menu or you’ll be paying almost twice the price for the same amount of food

Excellent food - Edit
My order was placed shortly after 6 pm and was served quickly. I had the Bento Box to try a mixture of dishes. What a good meal! Very well done shredded-vegetable Kakiage tempura and dipping sauce, a small bowl of good miso soup, tofu in a light sauce, green salad with tasty vinaigrette, seaweed condiment, spring roll and six pieces of Kimpab roll sushi. They add 10% gratuity to the bill. They discount bills by 10% if you pay in cash.

Vegan Japanese - Edit
I love Japanese food but Japanese food doesn't love me: fish/dashi is often used as a base and I often feel frustrated in Japanese restaurants.
Read moreI loved Itadaki for that, I could choose from the all menu.
The place is nice, quite authentic. I was with a Japanese friend and she approved of the food.
Diner is a bit expensive maybe but they have cheap lunch options.

Really nice food - Edit
The food here is very good, and food always tastes better when you're at an all-vegan restaurant. There's a lot of choices and on weekdays lunches the prices are very reasonable.

Just like Japan - Edit
I was surprised to find a Japanese restaurant that tastes like it could be in Japan. Delicious food and desserts with a lovely setting. Service was okay, but it took a long time to get tea or a teapot refill.

Amazing Tempura & noodles - Edit
Love this place! Really tasty food and lovely staff. Visited recently and tried the tempura which was crispy and salty and a good variety of veggies, the okara (fried tofu and veggie balls) which were really tasty and we both had tofu noodle bowls which were awesome! The broth was delicious and the tofu was really tasty too, combined with chewy fat noodles it was heaven. The plum wine was really tasty too would definitely recommend that!

Amazing food, great atmosphere - Edit
I got the sushi. I think each were infused with a different flavour - I can't remember what they all were but I remember one was garlic. Amazing. My friends' food were amazing too.
Read moreI booked for one person because I didn't know if my friends could come but they found a place for the three of us to sit. We were seated at the bar underground with a pretty cool vibe to the whole thing. They also had brilliantly terrible cover songs of classics such as Bohemian Rhapsody playing and the three of us were entertained all evening trying to guess what on earth the songs were supposed to be. The music was perhaps the highlight of the whole experience hahaha.
Pros: Amazing food, Great astmosphere, Friendly staff.
Cons: It is busy so book in advance

It's ok - Edit
Not impressed. Given the poverty of flavours in the traditional Japanese cuisine it's difficult to make good Japanese vegan food. The udon noodles with tofu had no taste at all. And the price is fairly outrageous.

A special place - Edit
Itadaki Zen provides authentic Japanese food (as far as I can tell) and an authentic setting, and that's a rare thing in Europe.
Read moreThere is not much space, so be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointments, since it's often full, too.
There are splendid set menus to choose from, in addition to that plenty of side dishes - you can order some of them and share, if you are there with other people. Everything is being freshly prepared (lunch is fairly quick though), so you might need to wait a bit. The portions aren't very big though.
Their udon is wonderful - their beer so-so.
The atmosphere is lovely, you feel really at home.
And on top of that: Everything is vegan, that's remarkable for a Japanese restaurant, I can't give them enough credit for that!
Pros: authentic, very friendly atmosphere and people, great food
Cons: crowded, expensive
