Real Indian Food

The food is amazing, I think they just have vegetarian food, but it is delicious.

Pros: Tasty, The chai tea is also delicious.

Cons: The service is not very good.

Exellent!!!

This food was super nice and affordable! The two vegan dishes, one with potatoes and cauliflower and the other with eggplant were really delicious! Vegan restaurant owners should go there to learn sth about taste!

Pros: Location, Taste, View

Cons: Funny decoration.. no problem actually ;)

India by the zócalo

Neat place... the vibe is a bit odd as you need to get into an elevator at the end of a long hallway, and the restaurant space itself is a bit jarring, but this is one of the few places to get all-veg Indian in Mex City.

The special thali is great to share between two people, maybe with an extra soup. It's clear that an actual Indian chef is working behind the scenes, though it's worth noting that there seems to be no South Indian stuff on the menu.

Definitely worth stopping by for lunch when visiting the zócalo or centro in general.

Pros: real Indian food, actual Indian chef, super central

best Indian since India!

My masala chai was perfect! My palak paneer and butter naan were also delicious. Thank you!

great value for money

I got here on a monday afternoon, very hungry.
The place was quite empty, considering it has over 120 seats.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The agreed to veganize the thali meal for me, and replace the non vegan dishes.
The food came quickly, although as I mentioned, I was quite alone, but usually thali meals arrive quickly.
All the dishes were delicious, special, and seasoned accurately. The hotness wasn't authentic, but indian hot isn't for everyone. The only problem I had was with the rice, which felt not fresh an hard, with a bit of aftertaste.
Overall for 115$ you get a full meal, with lots of verity. If i come here again I will definitely give this place another visit.

Great Daal

Waitress immediately knew which daal was vegan - (fry). Loved it! With naan. Maybe a little small.

Was treated to a free belly dancing show, which I think happens on Saturdays around 4pm.

Delicious but pricey

I think the previous reviewer who said there's no vegan options got confused with the non-veg restaurant of the same name that's one street over. The veg version does have plenty of vegan curries. I had chana masala and it was delicious. Everything is pretty pricey but it is right in the Zócalo so I guess that's to be expected. Atmosphere a bit awkward because it's a massive place but there were very few people there.

India Town Mexico City

Had a buffet lunch there. Great food and priced appropriately (175 peso) for a big city. Highly recommended if you are into North and South Indian vegetarian food, and want a big meal.

Not for vegans

We stopped in here to look at the menu and the buffet. The woman who seated us had no idea what vegan is and told us to look at the buffet. Except for the plain rice, everything had cheese.

The chef told us he could make something with mushrooms, but we opted to go elsewhere. The music blasting over the speaker helped make the decision.

The buffet dishes looked great, and I'm sure this place is good for vegetarians. But vegans need to look elsewhere.

Pros: Location

Cons: not vegan friendly

Amazing authentic and tasty food!

India Town is a pure veg restaurant and the selection of items on the menu was reasonable, at a reasonable price. The taste of the food was amazing--even better than some food I've had in India! The cook is from New Delhi and he knows what he is doing. Will definitely come back here during my stay and recommend it to my friends!
Service was pretty good too, except I would recommend knowing a little amount of Spanish as very few people in D.F. speak English.

Pros: Taste, Authenticity, Price
