I completely agree with the previous review. This place is really overhyped. I had been looking forward to having the crumble for 2 years but the cold custard was way too liquidy. The crumble completely dissolved in it. My sister had the hot custard with apple which was way better than mine, but it was disappointing nonetheless.

I'm so happy they offer a vegan version for the popular crumble. There's apple fruit, blackberry and plum I believe? There's hot vegan custard and some toppings such as almonds and flower petals.

Definitely different than your usual dessert options, there’s several vegan combinations you can make which is nice. A bit too rich/filling/sweet for my taste but I’d say if you love crumble then it’s worth a visit.

I'd had HC on my radar for a while but it wasn't until last summer that I had the chance to try it. I had the apple with the vegan topping and vegan custard. Tasty and glad there was a vegan option.

The only knock is that the vegan custard is a bit runny and if they could thicken it, that would really make it nicer.

We visited the Spitalfields Market location on a Friday afternoon after hearing great reviews.
Read moreI liked that you could customise your crumble to your liking, including requesting more fruit and less crumble or vice versa. It was also great to see several vegan options, including vegan shortbread topping, yoghurt, and custard.
However, while I enjoyed my crumble, I don’t think it was anything special. It is expensive for the portion size, and not as flavourful as I would like it to be. I would recommend trying Humble Crumble to someone who is in the area, but I would not go out of my way to visit again.

At the crumble bar you can build your own and the vegan options are clearly labeled. I mixed the mince and berry fillings, had the vegan shortbread, and warm vegan custard. It was a tasty treat but IMO quite expensive, heads up.

Humble Crumble - 3 Stars - Edit
I don't get the hype. This just tasted like the mushy OK-flavored cobbler from someplace like Old Country Buffet from the 90's in the US, but more watery. I appreciated they had vegan pudding and whipped cream, but I just didn't like the flavor of the pudding (which was very watery), especially combined with the rest of the ingredients. For reference, I got the strawberry rhubarb, vegan shortbread, with vegan pudding on top. Maybe it would have been better to top with whipped cream instead of the pudding???
