Pretty Good Vegan BBQ - Edit
Definitely a place to try if you’re in the area! Got the combo plate with the chickn, ribs & mac and cheese. Chickn was okay, ribs were pretty good, mac and cheese was amazing. Would definitely go again & try other menu items & get more mac and cheese. Love the concept & atmosphere, hits the spot if you’re in the mood for bbq!

Wow I’ve traveled across the world and have never visited an eatery anything like this one. As close to the real thing as it gets! Very meaty textures, extremely rich meal, more-ish and salty. The Mac n cheese was delicious, so were the mozzarella sticks. Wasn’t a fan of the fake chicken (texture was crazy similar to real chicken- so I wasn’t keen on it). Huge portions so keep that in mind when you’re ordering! Definitely worth a try

Maybe it’s my fault that my eyes were bigger than my stomach or that I didn’t know what Tempeh was but, My husband and I were very disappointed. We were excited to check it out because of Facebook videos that we have seen and that it was BBQ. I was very disappointed with the Tempeh because I don’t think it was made properly. Had hard chunks of soy bean in my Tempeh rib. Flavors were lacking in the burger and the Mac and cheese was kind of dry. I will come back again because maybe it was that one day I was there or my taste buds. Idk, I just want to give them a second chance.

Between the UK and the US this is definitely the best fake meat I have had. We got the combo plate and choose a selection of all the meats (-fish). The ribs were so meat like in look, taste and texture. All the others were delicious too. Also tired all the sides and they do great sweet potato Fries and a polenta thing. If you still have some room check our there cakes. The apple crisp cupcake was by far the moistest cupcake I have ever had and simply Devine. Good service and staff were friendly.

Southern style, deep fried, comfort food is not the norm for me. This is usually the kind of food that I avoid at all costs. But, I don't run across a vegan BBQ joint that often, so I had to check it out. It was great experience all the way around. The decor wasn't at all what I expected. It is bright, clean, and welcoming. The music was the right volume and created a laid back vibe. The counter person was friendly, efficient, and able to answer ingredient questions for me. Our food came quickly and was delicious. I had the best sweet potato fries I have ever had. The BBQ tempeh was done to perfection. The portions were large and the prices reasonable. I would go back if given the opportunity.

This food was all very exciting to see veganized! Mac n cheese, wings, ham and cheese sandwhich, burgers, etc. The wings were my favorite, followed by the mac n cheese. Everything was very filling and rich; this is definitely somewhere to go if you want to enjoy typical American food veganized. The staff was all very friendly.

Fantastic vegan barbecue restaurant at a great location. Plenty of seating inside and out. Clean. Friendly and helpful staff. We had the smoked soy curls, tempeh ribs, macnocheese, chili cheese fries, and Mac daddy tempeh burger. For desert we had s’mores cup cakes. All were really good. Macnocheese was the group favorite followed by the smoked curls. The ribs are their signature item and they were a close second to the curls. The Tempeh burger wasn’t quite up to par with the other options.

we were looking forward to trying HGS for quite awhile and they did not disappoint! we spoke with the manager I think, and he recommended other vegan places in town and was incredibly kind and helpful. We will definitely be back.

I ordered the buffburrito with a side of sweet potato fries. The burrito was more food than I anticipated and had an interesting twist with the no cheese Mac in it but still good and would order it again. The sweet potato fries were deliciously seasoned with chipotle and lime; it would go well with any main dish or just as a snack.

This place is just banging. I’ve been eyeing their Instagram up for time so when I finally got here I was hyped. I ordered the hush puppies and the MACNOCHEETO and it did not disappoint. Them soy curls are delish! If you’re in Portland - go to this place.
