Great for breakfast - Edit
We went immediately at opening and had a full cooked breakfast and a Reuben - both were beautiful but the Reuben especially. Very nice staff too, and it wasn’t too busy first thing.

Excellent place - Edit
Highly recommended vegan cafe in a restored Printworks in Fountainbridge in Edinburgh. Spacious, light and dog friendly, Cara our cairn terrier is a big fan! Food and drink very good and staff very friendly. Vietnamese tofu burger is a favourite.

Fabulous for brunch - Edit
We celebrated a special birthday here on Saturday. The cooked breakfast was delicious. The pancake and waffles were also very tasty. A really lovely place for an informal breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. The building is also great, a bit like a New York loft space, above a printmaker studio, high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and outdoor space. Service friendly and efficient. We will be back.

Amazing place - Edit
I already loved Holy Cow located in the center but when I discovered this one it was even better. The food is good and the spot is great. Calm, very rarely packed. It's located inside an art gallery, don't be affraid to go in and climb the stairs. Nice for an artsy coffee date ☕

Worth the walk - Edit
It's quite a trek out to Holy Cow Lounge, but it's a very nice cafe. Very spacious, you'll have no issue finding a seat. Food is lovely and like the city centre cafe, the cake is excellent

Expensive for what it is - Edit
So the menu is a real mix but the food is good. The service wasn’t great when we went sadly, maybe understaffed. It’s really a café but I think £15 for a breakfast is excessive.

Nice bright space, good food, friendly service - Edit
I enjoyed the meal here. The atmosphere was nice with ample space. The cafe is attached to an art gallery with a car par at the back. Good food and lovely service. Would be great if the food and dessert selections were a bit wider.

Had a lovely slice of plum & chocolate gingerbread, with a pot of tea, late afternoon with a couple of friends. Nice space for a cafe.

Original menu options - Edit
Menu selection was interesting and original, unlike most places that just make variations of the same meals. Food was all home-made incl fake meats and flavour combos worked well.

Nice food and smoothie - Edit
We arrived for a late lunch and it was good to be able to get food out of hours. This is in a gallery and the space is really nice. We ordered a chocolate and peanut butter smoothie which was delicious. I ordered the oyster mushroom burger and my partner ordered the vegan cooked breakfast. I liked that the mushroom was crumbed in my burger. The sauce balance was right. There were also chips with this. My partner enjoyed the vegan butter. Nice service.

Absolutely gorgeous afternoon tea.

The sandwich fillings were unique and very tasty especially the vegan fsh and no egg mayo. The desserts were light, moist and delicious but the very best was the scone, jam and cream, omg so light, completely and utterly delicious and worth the trip over there. We'll done to the talented chef and lovely staff

Lovely - Edit
Have visited the Holy Cow Lounge a couple of times now and have found it to have a lovely vibe and friendly service. More spacious than the sister restaurant and food tastes fresher. High quality ingredients. Will need to go back and try the afternoon tea. Hidden away location above a printshop, would highly recommend to all.

I was always a big fan of Holy Cow on Elder Street, but it's such a small location I often stressed about getting a table there.
Read moreYou won't have any such problem here - the lounge is much bigger than its Elder Street counterpart and has a lovely airy and relaxing vibe.
We had reuben sandwich, quarter pounder burger and a couple of cakes. It was all delicious and exactly what we would expect from Holy Cow.
Bonus benefit of being in Edinburgh Printmakers. We enjoyed having a nosy around the shop and exhibit after our lunch😄

Beautiful café/restaurant - Edit
Popped into try Holy Cow Lounge as a birthday treat and I’m so glad we did! Prices are so reasonable, food was delicious fantastic options (I ordered the Bibimbap, a slice of Banoffee pie and a coffee all of which absolutely unreal 😍) The staff member who served us was absolutely lovely too which is of course the cherry on top. Will definitely be back here and would love to try the OG café in the east end
