Spectacular! - Edit
Staff was really lovely and made us very welcome and comfortable. Ordered the fully vegan and gluten free breakfast, my hubby the tofu burger. Also green smoothie and a Karma Cola. For dessert, the Ferrero pie. Everything was soooo tasty!!! Highly recommended!!! It is in a hidden spot, but so cool.

Intriguing cakes - Edit
They're nice and friendly and their cakes are strange, which I like.
Read moreI've not ordered mains/savouries yet (been 3 times so far) as the portions look huge and are very burger/fake meat based.
They bring you water to the table.
It's nicely central and vegan. But is down stairs and inaccessible for many.
Pros: Open later than lots of other cafes, Just by the bus station, Intriguing cakes
Cons: Yet to be excited enough to try the savouries , No printed cake menu to explain what's on, Little bites of things would be appealing

We went here twice because it was so good and the first time we couldn’t try any cake. Did not regret coming back! The food is very tasty and loved the cake! 🤩

Very tasty salad and cakes - Edit
Went here for dinner and we both had the pad thai salad which was great as were both the tiramisu and banoffee cake. However, the menu was not that diverse, consisting only of a few burgers, sandwiches and two salads (according to their website they have bibimbap, but this was not the case on location). Had a great meal nonetheless.

Nice restaurant with some room for improvement - Edit
Food was good, prices are fine staff seemed friendly. The cake wasn’t that good lacked in consistency and maybe a bit of specialty for the price. The main thing I didn’t like was the music very loud and not vibe matching😒Ambiente could be a bit more cozy to!

Underwhelmed - Edit
I really wanted to like this place as the vibe and staff were superb but the meals we ordered were barely satisfactory. Power Bowl was flavorless with wilted greens and the mushroom burger lacked distinctive taste. Maybe it was just an off day for the kitchen, it happens.

Past the golden days - Edit
A good start is to remember your customers. We were welcomed to wait in the patio until a table became available in the cramped and busy resaturant. Considering the rather chilly weather, it was a bit disappointing to discover, after quite a long wait, that the waiter forgot about us and already offered tables to other later arriving customers. After that it would have been a comfort to have enjoyed at least excellent cooking. Unfortunately the cooking also disappointed us. The bean burger and the tofu we had were both rather dry, cold and felt like reheated unfresh food. The same goes for the chips that were rather old and saggy.

May be a great restaurant, but arrive before 9 pm - Edit
My daughter and I made quite a trek on foot, in the rain, to go to Holy Cow which was listed on Happy Cow and on their website as being open until 10 with no mention of the kitchen closing at 9 on either site. We arrived at 9 on the dot, after going to another vegan restaurant and not being able to get in because they were booked. It's not my intent ever to cause a vegan restaurant harm, but I share this to help travelers who may now know better (like me). I gave the restaurant constructive feedback (in a nice way) that their website and Happy Cow did not say anything about food service stopping at 9, and we could not imagine arriving an hour before closing could not be an issue. They told us that they would let the manager know and I can see that Happy Cow has now been updated with the info that the kitchen closes at 9.
Read moreWe let them know that we had just trekked there quite a distance in the rain (and it was cold, and I'm pretty sure they could see we were wet) after we couldn't get into another restaurant, and how hard it is to find a place that offers food that is both vegan and gluten-free. And since it was 9 on the dot, I had hoped that they could help us out in some way - ie, a soup or a salad, something that didn't involve cooking. But they were not able to, and all we could have was a piece of cake, when we were really craving a healthy meal. I understand that the kitchen staff is exhausted at closing time, but also given no notice on the website or Happy Cow (Happy Cow has now been updated with this info) about the early kitchen closing, had wished they could have made an exception, at least to offer something that would have been easy for them, so we could have had dinner that night. It just would have been really nice if they would have been able to accommodate us in some way out of compassion. It is our lesson learned that going to a busy town during tourist season to always have reservations, if they take them (this restaurant does not, except for large groups), and to always call to be sure so you don't face unexpected circumstances. I'm sure their food is great, we were disappointed that we didn't get to have a meal there. The piece of cake was delicious, though!

Great food not so great desserts - Edit
The food was really well made and tasty, and I could absolutely come back for it. Service really friendly, but slow and unattentive even though there were not that many people in the Restaurant. And it is a bit on the expensive side with 15£ for a Burger and 5£ for a slice of cake.
Read moreThe desserts however were a dissapointment, The tiramisu was dry and didnt really taste anything at all and The lemon tart crust fell apart, though the taste of the lemoncustard was really nice.

So happy to have stumbled across this charming little eatery close to the train station. All three of us (with only me being a vegan) enjoyed our meals to the fullest. Great flavours, great portion sizes. Not to forget 100% vegan which is a big plus. Yummy cake. Staff were lovely as well!

Best vegan food in Edinburgh - Edit
This place was absolutely amazing!! Best vegan food we had in Edinburgh during our stay and there was some tough competition.
Read moreI had the celeriac burger with kimchi which was the best vegan burger I’ve had. Spiced perfectly, with delicious chunky chips. Seriously amazing.
We then got vegan Reuben’s to go for our train journey home and these were also amazing. The fake meat tasted so real, it was salted and thick, and the veg on it was awesome.
If you are going to Edinburgh you have to stop and eat here. Only warning, it was tiny. We snagged a seat and then three groups got turned away. I don’t think you can pre-book, so get in early for the lunch rush.
Pros: Phenomenal burger , Delicious Reuben’s , Cute decor/atmosphere

Oh the pies 😍! - Edit
An oasis of vegan deliciousness 💚💚💚 in Edinburgh, and with friendly staff too. I loved everything I tried, sandwiches, burgers, soups and pies. Oh the pies are really gorgeous😍 and not too sweet which is very much to my liking. Generous portions, ingredients taste fresh and menu well balanced to provide proteins (nuts, quinoa, tofu, seitan or tempeh), active cultures (kimchi), fibers and vitamins. Do try the infusions and smoothies too, I enjoyed both. I just wish I had more time to try their afternoon tea, with all the savoury and sweet trimmings.
