Spectacular! - Edit
Staff was really lovely and made us very welcome and comfortable. Ordered the fully vegan and gluten free breakfast, my hubby the tofu burger. Also green smoothie and a Karma Cola. For dessert, the Ferrero pie. Everything was soooo tasty!!! Highly recommended!!! It is in a hidden spot, but so cool.

Good food - Edit
Really nice food, and a nice cafe. Enjoyed the red velvet cake - first and only I've had since going vegan! Only complaint would be it's a bit overpriced, but I guess that's what you have to charge to stay afloat, and I'm always happy to support a vegan business.

We popped in for lunch as it’s nice and central, good location with nice atmosphere. So many yummy cakes on display! We had the Vietnamese tofu burger and pulled jackfruit burger, caramel Frappuccinos, and banoffee pie.

Fantastic Little Cafe - Edit
Sweet Cafe near the bus station of Edinburgh, been once alone and once with a friend and had a great time both. Found the cake slightly dry on one trip, but the brownie on the other was fantastic.

Really chill vibe. Music was an amazing blast from the past filled with Björk, sneaker pimps and a lil new stuff like London grammar. Server was soft spoken but very friendly. We had a CBLT that was very tasty. Also had a nice chai latte.

Nice, centrally located vegan cafe - Edit
Stopped by for lunch, and enjoyed the burgers and sampled the cake. All very nice. The cafe is centrally located and small, so when it's busy it can be hard to get a table. Booking ahead is probably a good idea for busier times, as fortunately they do seem to be busy (they deserve to be!) Cash only (or was when I visited), but there is a cash point nearby.

Cute, but hard to find - Edit
On our last day in Edinburgh we searched for the Holy Cow!
Read moreIt was a little bit hidden in the basement and the sign on the front was not very noticeable, but we found it!
We had the Quarter Pounder Burger and the Pulled Jackfruit Burger with fries and it was very delicious.
After that we shared a piece of coconut cheesecake. It tasted like heaven!
I highly recommend this place to all vegans who want to have a really good time while eating.
Considering the good ingredients, the prices are reasonable.
Pros: Friendly staff, good background music, Tasty, reasonable prices, fast delivery, cash & credid card accepted
Cons: a little bit drafty at the front table, you want to eat ALL the tasty cakes ;-)

they have such an amazing range of vegan burgers, sandwiches and salads! me and my family all went for a burger each and it came with a generous side of proper chips. the service was great. ufnfortualy when we arrived there were no seats available so had to sit in the patio (despite the cold) but it was really cosy and protected from the wind and was very peaceful. highly recommend this place to everyone!!!

Really nice place, food is good, for 10pounds you can have a good lunch, and i really recommend cakes, even though they are extra 4pounds. If it's warm go to the patio, a peaceful and fresh place to sit. Enjoy!

Excellent Food, Incredible Bread - Edit
This place is a must try! It’s perfect for warming up on those cold days and they have some incredible options. Their soups are excellent and their sandwiches are delicious. I didn’t love the salad I got, but after getting soup (sweet potato and lentil) and the bread that came with it, I wish I would have gotten one of their sandwiches just for the incredible flavorful bread. It comes out warm and has incredible flavor and texture. You could come here just for the bread. I tried a few bites of the hummus sandwich which was very good and my friend loved her carrot and orange soup. We also got a sandwich and chips to go for a friend who was sick, and they waited until we had almost finished so that it would still be hot for her which I thought was really nice. Their banoffee pie is incredible too! Would love to try more of their options, and will definitely be back for another visit. The only downside was that it was pretty expensive, but we left full and happy so you DO get pretty big portions for the prices.

A little simple place beside the bus station. We were delighted to find another vegan place but a little disappointed with the menu. We plumped for burgers and fries which were ok. Would have preferred something a little healthier. The peanut butter milkshake was great

Cute little place! - Edit
I stumbled upon this place when I missed a bus connection - it's right outside the bus station, what a lucky find!
Read moreI had a delicious slice of gluten free banoffee pie and a big pot of peppermint tea while my friend had a sandwich. It was so good that I went back on my return journey, this time for a sandwich which was very tasty and well presented.
The place is cosy and staff friendly, it's a great place to go if you are waiting around like I was, the food is good but it is expensive for the amount you get. I would return if I have to wait for a bus connection again, the decent size pot of tea wins me over!

Pros: Close to bus station, Friendly staff, Fully vegan
Cons: Expensive, Had to ask about gluten free options., Cash only

try the chocolate peanut butter shake! - Edit
On my last day in Edinburgh I popped into the Holy Cow! What a cute little restaurant.
Read moreThe menu isn’t huge but there are a lot of burger options. I went for the jackfruit burger (it was incredible!) The portion is very big, lots of chips! The burger bun is baked fresh daily and it was so tasty.
I had a chocolate peanut butter shake and it was lovely, not too sweet! I was hoping to get a dessert because they looked beautiful but I was stuffed. I would recommend getting one to go or coming back another time for tea and cake.
Whenever I’m next in Edinburgh I hope to visit Holy Cow again! ☺️❤️
Pros: huge portions , great milkshakes, lots of burger options
Cons: cash only , small venue so may be a short wait

Tasty but pricey - Edit
I went here and had a sandwich, which tasted nice but was a little small for the 8 pounds it cost me. I also wasn't terribly impressed with their menu - basically you can choose between a lot of things which are not naturally vegan, like vegan cheeses, tempeh 'bacon', burgers etc. (but this is just a personal preference, not a real criticism).
Read moreStaff was really friendly, the location is cosy (in a half-basement). They also had a huge selection of cakes, which looked a bit too filling for my taste.
Pros: Tasty food, Lovely staff
Cons: Quite pricey, Only fast-food style options
