I love fast food, and I wish there were more vegan fast food joints all over the world so I never have to cook again! The shakes here are great and of course so are the burgers. It’s a bit pricey, but that is to be expected in this area of DC.

I can’t wrap my head around how great the Philly Steak sandwich is. You’re doing something right now. Stop doing that thing and put one of these ridiculous sandwiches in your mouth.
Read moreThe bread is soft, easy to bite into and delishoowus. And the “cheese and steak” is just awesome. Apparently this is their big seller - as well as it should. I don’t know what anything else is going to taste like because every time I come to DC I need this sandwich in my life.
Oh and the people working there are super nice.
I’m going to stop typing before I tear up.

Fantastic food, great flavors! Downfall is staff isn’t welcoming and seems to publicize turmoil amongst their own team. Also not much seating available so if you do go arrive at non peak hours or pick up to go.

YUM. Breaded chicken sandwich (buffalo it!) that was crazy delicious! Seriously. It’s been 18 years since I’ve eaten chicken and I had to do a double take after one bite. Scary good!

Good vegan option in Chinatown, but nothing special or novel. Just standard vegan junk food fare with substitutes for burgers, cheese steak, chicken and wraps. But if that’s what you want, they do it well.

Heaven for Vegans with cravings - Edit
It is not a hipster place as the name may suggest. It is a nice, modern fresh place where you can satisfy your cravings and not hurt any animal.

We went there twice in one day because we couldn't get enough. It was one of those days in DC when it was crazy humid and hot, people hiding in the museums with A/C.
We started from the top of the menu board and got Ziggy burger ($10.19) - classic with organic smoked tempeh and their special sauce. We have tried many vegan burgers in past couple weeks and this one was one of the best. The tempeh was delicious, it wasn't dry at all.
Then we tried the Massaman tofu wrap ($9.95) with curried organic & local tofu, sprouts, spinach, tomato, cilantro-white bean puree, and cucumber raita - it was so delicious.
Couple hours later we got:
Lil' Golden Nuggets ($4.95) that are served with sweet potato fries. It smelled so good, tasted amazing. It was also filling. The dip was spicy. Yummy!
To feel better about eating so much fast food (even though it was vegan) I got their famous BFG ($5.95)- delicious green smoothies they have pre-prepared, tasty, refreshing and super healthy :-)
And what kept us sane and happy through that crazy hot and humid day? Their Carrot Ginger Lemonade ($3.25)! Refreshing, tasty, perfect!
I also like the original way they wrap their burgers and wraps, cute little stickers, so beautiful and organized - perfect for my world.
We came before peak hour, so we found a place to sit, we remember till today how much we enjoyed the food while talking and looking out of the window, watching people on the street.
I also want to say thank you to the wonderful and friendly staff who made our experience special. There are places where you get fancy pricey food, but you are not leaving happy if your service sucks. These guys are doing an amazing job! You can see that these people love to work there.

A HIP Place to be in the CITY of D.C. - Edit
HipCityVeg is a Vegan Haven in the heart of Washington D.C. It is located conveniently downtown within walking distance of the National Mall and many of the hotels. We absolutely loved the food and we were super excited to find out that they were sustainable, with all their packaging compostable and that they use as much recyclable material as possible. The only downside is their seating is very limited. HipCityVeg is a little on the pricier side, expect to pay $9 for a burger, but it is well worth it!

The “steak” sandwich I had here sure isn’t health food-typical fast food fare but totally vegan! And oh so delicious! The zingy burger was great, also. Unfortunately, the “pro-environment” vibe supplied by use of compostable packaging is completely undone by deplorable constant running (way beyond a drip) of water faucet—please, hire a plumber!

While not the cheapest lunch, not out of the bounds of DC fare. The philly steak, sweet potato fries, and chocolate shake were all delicious. Super fast service even though it was packed due to DC Pride. Will go again!

All I got here was a milkshake, by it was delicious. I had definitely been missing them!! We came in 30 minutes before close and the staff was still super friendly. The only con I could see was the restaurant was way too small.

I really don’t get the hype with this place. Food is insanely expensive ($13 for a “chicken” burger doesn’t even come with fries) even by DC standard and everything is bland. I’ve tried the burgers, the salads, just about everything and been very let down. I’d rather go to just about anywhere else in the area and it gets points only for having more than one vegan option.

I loved all the options and the food was great, I just wish the store was bigger for more seating. I also tried ordering their food through caviar for delivery and l waited 2 hours to get my food. I recommend only ordering at the restaurant.

Fast-food type joint where I tried the Buffalo Bella burger with avocado which was class and had the vanilla shake which tasted like a shake you’d get at McDonalds. Not too pricey for DC, friendly staff, would come here again.
