Amazing (Vegan) Food - Edit
Where to begin? We were visiting from out of town and kept going back for more! The Ranch Chick’n Sandwich was truly amazing. I tried the Disco Chick’n as a wrap and wasn’t impressed.
Read moreThe milkshakes though!!! We tried the seasonal Pumpkin (amazing), seasonal Mint Chocolate (amazing) AND Creamsicle (yep, amazing!).

What else can I say? HipCity Veg is a fantastic little vegan cafe in Chinatown. I was so excited when I walked in and the server behind the counter told me that they are 100% vegan. I will definitely be going back soon.

Very Good - Edit
It was so nice to be able to choose from an entire menu. We got the chipotle fajita wrap, buffalo bella, chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries with siracha aioli, and the creamsicle shake. The buffalo bella was the best in my opionion. Although everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. It was also quite filling. The shake was also very good. There is not much sitting space which could be a problem but we were able to get a table for three. The service was quick and friendly and it is priced similarly to other DC locations. I highly recommend checking it out.

tastes like chick-fil-a - Edit
I got the Ranch Chick’n sandwich and sweet potato fries. No joke, the “chick’n” tastes just as good as Chick-fil-A! Seriously! We finished it off with a banana whip and a chocolate and vanilla soy milkshake! We could not finish it all, but not for a lack of trying. Oh. And the sriracha vegan mayo should be bottled and sold in stores!

Great! - Edit
Great food! I had one of the burgers, it was close to perfection. Even so that I came back a few hours later for a banana whip. It was also delicious and very big (too big ;) )

Hearty and Delicious - Edit
I love the concept of this restaurant. They make a mock chicken that is quite tasty. On our recent visit, we ordered the Crispy HipCity Ranch and added cayenne hot sauce. The chick'n patty is quite hearty and is lightly breaded and fried. The ranch dressing has the perfect blend of spices. We also ordered the sweet potato fries and preferred the sriracha aioli dip.

Wonderful! - Edit
Stopped here for a quick bite to eat- perfect! I had the Disco Chick'n and it was flavorful and filling-- definitely more of an indulgence! So happy when I find vegan food that is more than a healthy soup and salad. Vegans want to indulge and eat comfort food too! I got so many fries I couldn't even finish them-- A !

The app doesn't let me give 1 star... - Edit
Sorry, I don't understand the previous ratings. I ordered the philly and it's been the greasiest thing I've eaten in a loooong time. My hubby ordered the Disco chick'n and it was very small. Apart from that, we paid 10.65 for the philly and 9.95 for the chick'n sandwich, and they didn't include fries. If you want some, get ready to oye another $5 for a small side of sweet potato fries, because they don't even have the regular ones.
Read moreSorry, but almost $28 for 2 sandwiches and 2 small boxes of water is a total rip off.
No way I'm coming back.

Ziggy Burger! - Edit
I love this burger! Organic smoked tempeh with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. The special sauce tastes similar to a Thousand Islands dressing or In N Out style sauce. Delicious!

a new favorite - Edit
I'm new to D.C. and I think I found my new favorite place. I had the disco chicken and it was SOO good and filling. Had the Oreo cupcake too which was beyond tasty (really soft and yummy). Make lemonade was great too. The aesthetic of the place is really cute and I LOVE that everything is biodegradable or recyclable! Prices weren't terrible for a vegan place too. I will be a frequent visitor.

First time at HipCityVeg and will NOT be my last. I got the BFG and the philly steak as a wrap. It's the meat eater food I miss but without the animal products and honestly way better than any philly I've ever had.

The food is delicious but the sandwiches are often too messy to carry out and eat elsewhere. They have very few seats. Service is quick and good. We come here often.

Wizard bbq chix - Edit
This was my first time to this restaurant. I live in Fairfax City and it took a minute to travel here but will worth it! I got the bbq chix and ordered the philly steak and sweet potato fries with Sriracha aioli to take home to my bf. Everything was phenomenal. Also, brought a non-vegan friend with me and she got the Buffalo Bella which she said was amazing!

Came here for the first time last week. Super excited to have another vegan option in the area. The deep fryer was broken, so I was forced to eat healthier than I might have otherwise!

Outstanding - Edit
A bunch of us from Toronto were panicking to find parking before the end of the night. We simply called ahead and they accommodated six bellies with efficient, incredible, family-like service. The food and conversation was great and our goodbyes at the end of the night were warm. Thank you for your hospitality!

Double Yum! - Edit
My omnivore husband could not believe how good the "chicken" was and I liked my taco salad. Ordered more food to take out for another meal. The two gals at the register were very upbeat and friendly-even remembering my name. Only seats 12 but they said we could go next door to the bar and eat there. Wish they had gluten-free sandwich buns or bread. Happy that the plastic wear is the compostable kind. Wish we had one of these in Austin!

best vegan burger I ever had - Edit
I had the BBQ special with faux chicken and sweet potato fries as a side. The faux chicken tasted amazing, even the texture was just like normal chicken and the sweet potato fries were delicious as well. The cutlery is compostable and they generally keep an eye on using compostable stuff, which is nice. The iced green tea I had was also very delicious. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

My go to - Edit
I adore this place. It has amazing food and milkshakes. It's across the street from the Verizon center so it can get busy when they have an event. I went one night during a basketball game with the line being 8 people deep consistently and the staff was amazing and didn't make me feel like just another person in line. Smiles and great attitude all around.
Read moreAll the food is amazing. I've been to the one here and D.C. and the Philly location. Consistent in food and great service.
Very few seats so go knowing you may not find somewhere to sit and there is no parking, but there is easy metro access.
For any of you west coasters this place reminds me of Veggie Grill!
Pros: Great food, Seasonal milkshakes, Amazing Staff
