Okay... just nice...

Honestly, I expected very delicious bakery when I visited this vegan bakery as all it gets all 5-star rating reviews, even in their facebook and everyone is saying how great their bakery is! Nevertheless, I don't find the bakery to be as delicious as others claim. They are just alright, staff are very enthusiastic to recommend their favourite.

Best vegan bakery ever!

Hip Pun is an amazing vegan bakery with a fantastic selection of sweet and savory baked goods, pastries, and desserts. We tried many of the options and they were all fresh and fantastic. They have a huge variety to choose from. Hip Pun could easily be a satisfying lunch or snack option.

The place was extremely clean and the staff were amazing! They greeted us with big smiles (and really good English)! In particular, one of the employees named Han-Chi took such good care of us! She explained all the different types of pastries, recommended some of her favourites, and always had such a nice smile!

By far one of our favourite places in Taipei! A million thumbs up!

Pros: All vegan, Delicious variety of baked goods, Clean

Vegan bakery!

I've been soooo tempted by all the (nonvegan) bakeries in Taipei. I stood my ground, though, and then found Hip Pun! I got a "pork" floss bun, a pineapple cake, and a slice of pound cake- all of which were amazing! The store reminded me of the bakeries I used to love, but cruelty free! There was a lot to choose from, so I'll definitely be back. There were also espresso drinks and milk teas that I want to try next time. Great service too, and the price wasn't bad at all.

Pros: Delicious baked goods, Friendly staff, Not too expensive

Cons: None

Hip Buns!

This is a delightful vegan bakery in the center of town, run by some extremely friendly and welcoming ladies. They make fantastic breads, pastries, cakes and biscuits, with a good range of almond and cashew milk teas and coffees. It is a warm and comforting environment with delicious baked treats and really exceptional caring service.

Pros: Good Buns, Happy Vibes, Good price

Cons: Opens at 11, Not much seating

Wonderful vegan bakery!

Finally, there's a whole vegan bakery serving traditional Taiwanese bread in Taiwan!! Their bread is really tasty, some are traditional, some are very creative. They bake different kinds of bread every day so you'll find many surprises every time you visit it.

Pros: Awesome bread, Nice client , The same price as common bakery!

Cons: Some breads are a little too sweet

A nice vegan bakery!

It's so nice to have a vegan bakery in Taipei which means I don't have to make birthday cakes by myself.
There're many kinds of bread and cakes. If you are into Taiwanese sweet bread, then this is a place you should definetly pay a visit. Their bread is not oily but some is a little bit too sweet for me. While they also have bread with vegan cheese which looks good though I haven't tried yet.

Pros: It's a vegan bakery

Cons: Some bread is too sweet.

Great Vegan Bakery

Hip Pun has filled the void left by Fresh Bakery morphing into a restaurant (Vegan Taipei, which still serves cakes but no long does the baking). Hip Pun offers similar baked goods to what Fresh did. It also has a few tables to eat the food, and has a warm, welcoming store with friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable, and I got a week's worth of baking for a few hundred NT.

Since there are now three vegan bakeries in Taipei, all excellent in different ways, I'm going to compare them.

Hip Pun is the best place to stock up. If you live here, or need food for your travels away from Taipei (especially to Jiufen or Taroko Gorge), or breakfasts, then Hip Pun is the best place. By comparison Green Bakery is more somewhere to enjoy a coffee and delicious baked goods on site. Vegan Heaven offers the most upmarket takeout baked treats, and also the most expensive.

It's just great to have a vegan bakery to buy bulk again! I'll be going back to Hip Pun regularly.

Pros: great vegan baking, low prices for such good food, centrally located

Amazing vegan bakery

My boyfriend and I visited Hip Pun yesterday and had a cinnamon roll, a tomato cheese pizza, some garlic bread, and tasted their cheesecake. Everything is vegan and cruelty-free. So great to have a vegan bakery like them in Taipei

Pros: Great food, Great varieties , Friendly staff
