The only redeeming factor for this place was their poutine; the gravy was really good. Apart from that, the service was really bad and souvlaki was basically a pita with sauce in it and no other filling. Also beware: they pretty much use only faux meat (no tofu, tempeh, veggie patties that are quite obviously made of vegetables) so if you're not in to the whole faux meat thing...

I think you are confused. It is a grocery store. Not a restaurant. There are dozens of different kinds of tofu and tempeh on the shelves. A whole fruit and vegetable section. The commerce never claimed to be a restaurant it is merely a bonus added for the shoppers. That's like reviewing Ikea based on their little restaurant inside.

Great variety and selection

First stop on my long layover to check out Montreal’s vegan grocer. This place has it all. Well done!

Pros: Variety

Wide selection + café

A vegan's dream. Centrally located, wide selection of quality vegan specialties, and they also have a café/sit-down area. Prices were better than I expected and on par with or slightly cheaper than what I've seen elsewhere. So glad this store exists.

Pros: store-cafe combo, good location, reasonable prices

A good vegan store

I really like the store with all these vegan products, cheeses, ice creams, chocolate, marshmallows... everything you're craving for in winter !
But the fast food restaurant does not worth it ! They serve cold fat dishes in plastic or aluminum containers. The service is really bad, don't except a smile !

Pros: Vegan cheeses and other products

Cons: The food served in the fast food restaurant

good selection

I’ve only been here once, while I was in town on vacation. Nice selection of goods, but completely lacked fresh produce.

Horrible service.

The selection of products is awesome. But the service is horrible. I don't understand why those vegans businesses can't give a good service to everyone, and to tourists like me, and not just to hipsters-bohemians-type vegans. I've been there twice, and had a bad service twice, the second time even taking care to be extra smiling and polite, and that made the guy even more rude. I know I'm not the perfect type of vegan girl, thin, tattooed, urban... But I'm vegan for 15 years, I would have like a little smile in exchange of my big smile instead of a "this fat girl probably don't know what veganism is" grumpy look. I took only a cupcake from sophie sucrée, I was expecting to take more food, skewers, scheese, but this guy looking at me like I was annoying to him (while there are nobody else than me there!) didn't make me want to encourage them more. And I'll keep going to Rachelle-Berry next time I'm in Montreal.

excellent selection !

Love the selection. It's a wonderful store. The only complaint I have is that it is very pricey. It is understandable since many of the products are specialized, so perhaps this is out of the control of the store itself.

Very Interesting!

There is a lot of vegan products that I was not aware that it even existed (such as the faux tuna can!). They are cooking meals such as sandwiches and poutines and we can eat there too.

Pros: Lots of vegan products not available else where, 100 % vegan

Cons: Lack of fresh fruits and vegetables

Wonderful place!

I expected something a little bigger, but for only a 2 day trip, I got some things to stick in the fridge. Lovely man was super nice, able to explain that Earth Island is the same as Follow Your Heart. Later in the evening so gave me a discount on the croissants. Still
Had some premade sides to bring back to abnb. Premade wraps and sandwiches too.
Cute place

nice selection

Went here during my visit in montreal, mostly to check the vegan selection in Canada, but also to buy something sweet ;)
It seemed like they had quite some choice of soy/tofu/v*cheese, I was missing cookies etc,but then I noticed the counter with baked goods! Chose a brownie - delicious :)

Pros: all vegan, delicious treats, good selection

Herbivores rocks!

So glad that they finally have a vegan grocery store!... Montreal has such a strong vegan community it was long overdue! I checked out Herbivores last weekend while they had Sophie Sucree handing out samples and it was great!. fresh pastries, fresh fruits and veggies, great selection and friendly staff. I had much rather support vegan than anything else so im definately going out of my way to shop here :-)
